Rumors are that destiny's big update in september is gonna cost us another $60.
How many of you are okay with this and planning on paying up (bringing your one year total to $155- $160)?
Update 1...I initially wasn't ok with it, but that lasted about 2 minutes.
This is no different than all the yearly franchise releases (except that destiny is way better)
Update 2. So many say yeah and I'm really surprised. Most of us here obviously love the game and are committed.
If it is $60 it seems to be worth it from the leaks so far. BRING ON DESTINY 1.5.
So yeah...this guy is
So apparently it's a resounding.....SEE YOU GUYS IN SEPTEMBER!

1 ReplyI will always buy stuff for this game, I may not play it all the time, but it is still my favorite game. Gta v is a close second
-
I see it this way: Lots of game companies do a yearly release. Up until recently, Need for Speed was a yearly franchise. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm just buying the next game in the series. The difference is that this one has the bonus of still being part of the previous game so my progress will carry over.
-
I sure will. Iactually like this game and am willing to pay more money for extra content
-
1 ReplyHell yeah! I would buy a new content from Destiny every month if they could produce the goods. I would be willing to part with gobs of money if they could constantly entertain me. The fact is, video games are an insanely cheep form of entertainment.

All of you are a cancer on the gaming community and the no 1 reason why all games now have dlc and micro transactions i hope you all die from Lou gehrig's disease

27 RepliesBungie turned out to be class sorry developers as they can ONLY produce 1 raid per dlc or "cough" expansion NOT and yet now confirmed no raid when it was said earlier and before if you bought the "limited edition" destiny game that both "expansions NOT even close to being big enough to compare to an expansion" would release with 1 raid each(house of wolves was supposed to have the raid in the stupid forever empty reef and now there's no raid. Yet I say Bungie are sorry asses because I've played MANY MMORPG games and yes this game isn't that but it DOES have raids so to say for instance, DC Universe launched with I think 2 or 4 raids, every other DLC added 2 Raids, and the game has like 10 raids now, 8 man raids. If I wanna get a bit more technical REAL expansions for games like Everquest where the expansions were on most part nearly one fourth the size of the game added multiple raids via 24 ppl n that took HOURS to complete with epic puzzles, it also with every Expansion released at least 2 to 4 dungeons that a group could go in and this was at the rate of an expansion coming out every 3 to 4 months. Look at Bungie, Destiny Came out in September, a little over a half a year, it's released one DLC that was short as crap but the story on the dark below made more sense than the whole story Destiny the game had to offer at default. Let it be known, Bungie will lose all their players, I haven't played the game in a while as i've done everything, 3 characters made and there's literally nothing to do, the house of wolves dlc will be really insulting as I just may trade in destiny and never buy a Bungie game ever again, first time and game from bungie I buy turns out to be a game that was false advertised and chopped and hacked yet I bet before the so called comet expansion which was supposed to have a new major location and 2 raids n yet the bungie thread said they were working on A Single raid for later in the year as if that doesn't say hey you have your two free expansions via the stupid limited edition and now they're gonna make us pay for the raid content that should had been included in the damn house of wolves. Also, they'll be happy to take money as bloodthirsty ass holes they are for the comet expansion. All the kids can enjoy waiting for a miracle n while in truth Bungie are working on Destiny 2, yet couldn't finish the first game and make sense of the FREAKING GAME and wtf the Traveler IS, why it is, and origins n etc, and I just want to do a Mortal Kombat X Ray attack on each Bungie punk who see us gamers as many of us used to be fans n loyalist but money money money, drool for our money, they care about the money not the gamers happiness. Oh give us not even 10 extra bank slots just because we have all of our gear stored on each of our 3 characters and still need room. Bungie, this is gonna put u out of business and i'm sorry but false advertising should result into an insult and misdirectional class action law suite against ya, you think you've orated our minds, but not mine and for that I'll be HAPPILY playing Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 on my PS4. Petition to Crucify Bungie for their inactions starts here!

Not ok with money grabbing baterds!
-
I bought the game and season pass in the $99 collector's edition. Seeing as I've played the game for about 500+ hours I'd say it's money well spent. Especially seeing that most $60 games provide 10 to 15 hours of enjoyment. If I'm still playing Destiny in the fall I'd buy another game / expansion whatever. If the past 7 months have thought me anything I imagine I'll be playing Destiny in the fall.

Will preorder and get whatever bundle deal they offer for whatever special crap I can get. Because well, why not? ;)

1 ReplyAll I do is look at the cost per hour of entertainment. The 80 bucks roughly that ive spent on vanilla and TDB equates to over 600 of play time which I have mostly really enjoyed. Thats pretty good value in my books.
-
You for example my friend assuming your game + DLC was about $100 have a rough per hour cost of 14 cents. I have Never ever played a game of such good value. Crap if it were any better (or had a better story) I'd be in real trouble.
-
I'll wait and see what's included first. But it's only £40. Who cares.
-
Comet will be pushed back to November to combat BO III and BF. Guarantee it.
-
60 bucks aint crap. Just look at my wife's credit card bill and 60 is a joke.
-
Let's see what it contains. Star Wars Battlefront is coming. I'll 99% surely buy it, but if HOW sucks a new game could sneak in. Starting to get bored of the same shit.
-
1 ReplyI haven't played any game for as long as I have Destiny. Certainly would buy new content in September. Hell I pay $150 month for lousy cable TV - with less enjoyment.
-
I spend more time playing than any game ever so they will get whatever money they want for me to keep the experience of having s blast with friends almost every night. I play with my best friend who I never get to see since I live in Florida and he lives in Montreal so we keep in touch through destiny more than my family that lives 5 min away lol
-
More than happy
-
I'll wait until I see gameplay of it. See if it's worth putting another $60 in this game
-
I have not played another game since Destiny came out. If I only have to pay $60 a year plus $35-40 for DLC, I'm saving a hell of a lot of money.
-
3 RepliesI'm OK with it whu? Season pass.... got mine with digital guardian's edition according to the store it covers all dlc..... js sucks for those who will have to pay
-
we dont even know anything about comet yet lol
-
Edited by Insane956: 4/29/2015 7:49:45 PMTake ma monies....NOW BTW 60 bucks aint crap
-
I'll pay. Easily. Keep the content a-flowin'.
-
Ill buy it
-
I'll buy it. It's very evident after reading these forums along with many others as well as youtube Rants about Destiny and the RNG, the grind, no raidfinder.....errr matchmaking for the hard content that many are not accustomed to the MMO concept...the Raiding MMO concept that is to say. All of the rep grinds, raid resets, RNG, pvp crying, RNG, nerf this, RNG, nerf X, RNG and oh did I say RNG is something your accustomed to if you played EverQuest, WoW, Rift and the like at the endgame raid level. I played those PC games for years and years at the endgame and to me all of that is fun. I think Destiny bringing that concept to the console world has caused a bit of "culture" shock if you will. Raiding for weeks on end with nothing to show for it... not even items to DE... errr dismantel was the norm. At least until WoW went superceral casual I should say. And if you were in any sort of serious raiding guild seeing that item drop didn't mean it was yours. You trusted the guild you join, provided said guild had a loot distribution system, to make the decision as to where the gear went by either DKP, loot counsel or whole host of other systems out there. For me it was always about the Raid..not what I got. When I did get that upgrade...well that just made it even better. I'll stop rambling now. TLDR; The game is good and getting better. Maybe this genre isn't for you if the RNGezus makes the veins in your head explode. #noinstantgratification
