Thank you all for taking the time to answer!
I have been trying to reply to all of you personally but I just can’t keep up.
I recently created a Titan and have been slowly levelling up over the last days.
I've been maining a Hunter almost exclusively so it takes some getting used to.
The completely different jump ability took me a while to figure out but I've found it's actually easier to reach places when compared to my hunter with triple jump.
I'm only level 12 at the moment but it already feels like I can take more hits and not die when compared to my hunter.
I'm looking for any tips from veteran Titans about controls and such that will help me improve my playstyle.
Would also like some advice about which exotics to look out for that are considered best for Titans.

Play aggressively as a titan. You can take more damage then the other 2 ckasses
-
Everyone loves it when you shoulder charge them, spam it forever. Exotics to get: Armamentarium and Helm of Saint 14. Get ruin wings if you want, they dont work all the time but sometimes they can be awesome Use Bastion with ward of dawn, use illuminated with ward of dawn Pretty much all the rest is up to you.

1 ReplyFind a helm of saint 14

If ur not leveling up defender then I suggest u do. IMO it's way better than striker. The super is extremely useful, especially in nightfalls. Level them both up but defender is better. Helm of saint 14 is good for defender, wish I had it :(. If u r sticking to striker than helm of inmost light works and crest of alpha lupi is nice if u are constantly switching sub classes.

2 RepliesPlay with other titans. The orb spawns are incredible.

2 RepliesPunch, punch everything!

Striker is a very momentum based class, once you level it up and literally charge head first into battle you'll see what I mean. Defender is about tanking to the max.
-
Stick with the hunter it's a skill based class.

Punch everything.

Punch things.

Punch everything you see.

Punch everything always.

Punch everything, guns aren't needed

Inmost light is a good helmet for stiker. It gives some very usefull perks for the fist of havoc.

The Titan jump kick is awesome.

Edited by Aeriox1: 2/8/2015 11:30:21 PMShoulder Charge should not be under estimated (striker perk). Its super useful in pvp and pve. Not many things sweeter than a mid air shoulder charge in the cru...it turns into a mid air knee to the face and brings such sweet satisfaction. Oh and like everyone says....punch EVERYTHING.

2 RepliesWell I'm on my second titan. First I had a striker, which I really didn't care for. The super and shoulder charge are OP but not enough for me to justify using it. I later deleted him to make a second warlock for raid gear. Once I had all my gear I decided to try defender. I've been in love ever since. If you are playing pve I'd recommend running blessing of light. It really helps protect you against splash damage from tougher enemies. If you're playing pvp I think weapons of light with a handcannon and high impact sniper is the way to go. And for small maps armor of light with a shotgun and auto rifle. Glasshouse, saint-14, and ruin wins are all good armor choices.

5 RepliesEdited by DealWithItNOOB: 2/8/2015 7:23:39 PMI used to go striker in pvp but the super is kinda trash. You'll only only get one or more kills if you're lucky. The defender bubble is a boss. The best way to use it is 1.when the heavy ammo is up, stand near it and let your allies pick it but leave yours on the ground. Wait until your next life or until about a minute to pick it up. 2. You want to place your bubble(use blessings of light) in a spot with high traffic but you want to be far enough that they can't super you.(for firebase Delphi, a good spot is on the ledge at b. on shores of time, a good spot is in front of side a in the river on the side c. On blind watch, there is a cylindrical dome next to a. If you pop your bubble here you can kill their whole team.) 3.use your machine gun( I use corrective measure with extra stabilityfor middle perk) and dip in and out of your bubble to shoot people. Notes 1.Helm of saint 14 helps a lot if someone does get in your bubble. 2.The only supers that you really have to worry about is golden gun an kinda bladedancer. For golden gun, you can try doing the dip method against him or run( I use mida multi tool with extra agility for middle perk to get away). For bladedancer, wait until they have to go through your bubble if you have the saint 14 and them start running. You run as fast as a bladedancer with the multi tool equipped so you pretty easily escape them if they don't get the drop on you. 3. I haven't tried silencer grenade out much but sticking someone who's close up with a magnetic grenade and running away is always useful. 4.Also Praedyth's revenge is one of the best if not the best weapon in the game for pvp. It has a ttk of .4 seconds with body shots. For comparison, most of the all other weapons excluding machine guns have a ttk of about .9 if you land all the crits with that respective weapon. Here's the stats on all the weapons for pvp in the game. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tTMPEAOhYplzPIA4B07pBhQ/htmlview?pli=1

Punch everything and if you have it Helm of Saint 14 all day as a Defender. I dance around in my bubble of doom just waiting to destroy everything!

I'd recommend using the "Increased Control" perk for Lift on either subclass, makes it that much more useful. For Striker, 'Discharge' on Storm Fist can take out a group of low-level enemies as easily as Fist of Havoc. For FoH I like to use 'Shockwave' to extend killing range. The 'Transfusion' perk can be useful to keep going if you focus melee attacks on weak enemies, or remember to hurt strong enemies before going in for the kill with Storm Fist. For Defender, well, 'Weapons of Light' or 'Armor of Light' are good for Ward of Dawn, and you need to go with 'Unbreakable' for Disintegrate. I would also recommend using 'Illuminated' to improve WoL or AoL for Ward of Dawn.
-
Defender all day man level that up first and you will like the titan a lot.
-
Punch everything until it dies. Armamentarium and Ruin Wings are solid exotics for either subclass, and Helm of Saint-14 and the Glasshouse are good for Defenders. As much fun as Striker is, don't forget about Defender; it's a godsend in strikes and raids.
-
Put on the easier directional jump. Time your jump so your at the apex and then sorta mash jump for 3 quick jump bursts. Its for "running" around faster and can out pace all the other classes this way. Saves your butt in nightfall and pvp alike. Also defender titans armor of light with unstoppable and as full armor as you can get is a godsend in pvp.

1 ReplyDon't listen to anyone who isn't a titan The subclasses have different combinations: Defender can go all out on orb-making if you use the upgrades for heavy weapons, force barrier and ward of dawn in the skill tree. The best grenade for striker PvP is the lightening whereas in pve it is the flashbang or the lightning. For defenders in PvP you gotta use magnetic grenades unless you're in a lobby full of gg arcblade or sunsingers which is when the suppressor grenade comes into its own as it can knock people out of timed supers. Helm of Inmost light is THE striker helm whereas Helm of Saint 14 is THE defender helm. The Armamentarium is THE class neutral item for PvP whereas for PvE it is Ruin Wings.
