Thank you all for taking the time to answer!
I have been trying to reply to all of you personally but I just can’t keep up.
I recently created a Titan and have been slowly levelling up over the last days.
I've been maining a Hunter almost exclusively so it takes some getting used to.
The completely different jump ability took me a while to figure out but I've found it's actually easier to reach places when compared to my hunter with triple jump.
I'm only level 12 at the moment but it already feels like I can take more hits and not die when compared to my hunter.
I'm looking for any tips from veteran Titans about controls and such that will help me improve my playstyle.
Would also like some advice about which exotics to look out for that are considered best for Titans.

Ruin Wings.... Get them. Never run out of heavy ammo, ever. Saint -14 is also must if no Ruin Wings. If no Saint-14, get Armamentarium. Always run Defender as it benefits you and your friendo's more than striker. Force Barrier, use it. Love it. I like to use the one that makes reloads and weapon readying really quick. Magnet Grenade is a must. It makes enemies lock up. This can make killing sword bearers or majors really easy. Your bubble regens health so if need be at Crota, place it to regen health but only at crucial moments. Increased Control is the best lift. Trust me.

Edited by Adalos Izarc: 2/9/2015 5:32:09 AMYou are going to love being a titan! The best exotics for a titan would probably be The armamentarium Ruin wings Helm of saint-14 P.s. Enjoy the fisting lol

Helm of Saint-14 combined with titan shield to blind enemies rules. Also get an insurmountable skullfort to regen health by picking up orbs. Another exotic that is nice to have as a titan is Ruin Wings to get more heavy ammo drops. Before you are going to do something make sure what class and skills you activate. For example if you need to run and jump higher, put agility on high. When you want to resist damage longer then put toughness on high. Be carefull with titan grenades. They can seriously damage you when you throw them wrong. :) When using titan shield be sure you check on what is needed more for your fireteam. Blessing of light gives your team a shield when going through your bubble, weapons of light gives them more firepower.

Titan was my first choice alot of fun but requires a different mindset. You'll learn to hold your ground more (defender). And when you decide to move (striker shoulder charge) almost nothing can stand in your way :) Helm of Saint 14 is a must have head piece! Type "titan build for pvp or pve" and watch some vids.

The lightning grenade sticks to walls. #gamechanger

1 Replythe disadvantage to titans is their lack of speed, however, once you unlock lift control, you can boost your Titan to go faster then he normally would. The issue with this is that it's not so effective around corners. If the slower speed doesn't bother you, stick to increase height, as it can get you to higher places faster and easier then most classes, and if used right can, can get you across seemingly impossible gaps. For example, combined with the sword, you can get across the second phase gap of crota's raid using lift and the sword's lunge. I use to do it to show off to my friends when I was the last guy on that side of the bridge. You should adjust your abilities according to your equipment. Essentially what exotic armor piece you have. Titan's equipment has some interesting variety, which if combined with the right abilities make you all the more deadlier. Helm if saints-14 combined with increase duration and decreased super timer and a equipment that increases super energy for certain actions can allow you to easily control area's of the map and keep your team mates alive. I particularly like it's use on blind watch, blocking off a doorway to B with my bubble, you can imagine how this could help in pve since enemies walk like a drunken sailor after being inside the bubble. Just experiment with your options, Titans have more to them then just shoulder charge (which is pretty fun to use btw)

Yeah, don't

*coughs* Shoulder charge *coughs*

Some control advice: 1) Armor of light + shotgun = solo any zone. 2) Seduction! I prefer to run armamentarium instead of helm of saint 14 because I actually WANT people to come in my bubble and don't want to scare them away with that Mohawk. Another good tactic for seducing smarties into coming into your bubble is sitting or dancing while facing AWAY from enemy. Many people forget these animations allow you to go into 3rd person and they forget that you can see them. The second they step in, toggle the thumb stick and you will pop right up with a shotgun to the face. 3) learn to anticipate FoH. If you see a Titan running at your bubble, stay towards the back and be ready to jump out. Bubble absorbs the super. Don't run from bladedancers; if your timing is good, they will only feed you. 4) try all defender grenades. I like suppressors for the bounce and big explosion, but my favorite are actually the spike grenades. Always use spikes horizontally. They create a massive column of damage.

2 RepliesOnce you get shoulder charge you quickly realize that it's 95% getting around places faster and 5% actually killing things.

Bubble is life

Punch In the air to limit your glide. You can also use thrusters to avoid fall damage because use still have some thruster power.

Defender = PVE, PVP = Fists Of Havoc

Punch them
in the face!!!
Edited by Psi Optics: 2/9/2015 4:10:07 AMAs a Striker you are one of the best answers to other Titans in control when they pop a bubble. You also have the best chance stopping a blade dancer from ripping your team. Flashbang grenades come super handy blinding against most enemies in pve. Lightning Grenades are probably one of the strongest if not the strongest out of all the grenades in the game. Despite some supers being a defender is great for capping a zone. Also you could play a great support role to your team with weapons and blessing of light. Helm of Sain 14 is amazing blinding any enemy who dares enter your bubble. And another great thing about Titans are Ruin Wings if you manage to get them you are a heavy weapon machine with the increased heavy drops and quantity in a drop. I use a lot less synthesis when I wear them.

Pop a bubble and beat the snot out of your enemies and do the robot dance when you're done.
-
Shoulder charge the shit out of pvp
-
Always use flashbang for striker PVE, exotics to look for are saint 14 (defender), armamentarium (neutral), and ruin wings (neutral)

Dont over jump

4 RepliesIf you're using striker definitely have shoulder charge equipped. Even though the shield at the end of the tree looks tempting, it only works if you stay planted on the ground and even then it doesn't last long enough to justify it. Shoulder charge is amazing in comparison. It can be used to essentially extend your jump even further. You can instantly change momentum mid air and get around corners faster. Plus it insta kills in pvp and it will one shot lower tier enemies in pve. I really love it.
