Though I see your point and agree, your comparison is somewhat invalid. The difference between Lara Croft and female guardians in Destiny is Lara Croft wasn't created by the player, you didn't have a choice, that's who paid for. When a male chooses to make a female character in Destiny, then one could question sexuality because many people live out secret second lives everyday in different ways(think there's a game for that)... but just because you could doesn't mean you should. Or it could just be a simple matter that you are dealing with a guy who is comfortable enough in his masculinity that he doesn't need to have it reinforced in a video game.

But, your still choosing to play a game as a female. Imagine all the people that played metroid only to find out later, they were playing a character that was a female. I see many of the posters in this forum needing therapy sessions :p

Why would they need therapy? Because they chose to see a female character over a male one? That makes sense. They must be suffering from a serious case of heterosexual. Why do men watch movies with female leads? They "choose" to and do so because it is visually appealing and something to admire seeing a girl kick ass, which a strong woman is naturally something most guys want. So there is absolutely nothing far fetched about a guy playing a female character, and if it says anything about their sexuality it's that they prefer seeing girls if they have the option.
