Edited by T4T2FR34K: 12/4/2014 6:11:57 PMYou guys are -blam!-ing idiots, all the games out there and all the mistakes made and you -blam!-s just gonna ignore all those lessons learned. Refund my Goddamn money!
-
DEEJ , you guys should allow Xur to upgrade exotics this weekend in preparation for Tuesday! That is all and thanks

Well,it seems like people arent getting it,ive read many posts if people saying their weapons being reset changes their light level,im sure many meant armor but its confusing. The fact that they r getting a new weapon or piece of armor in exchange for their maxed out piece means they have to be leveled up.it doesnt look like an upgrade, but like an exchange and thats why everyone us bitching about.honest, you guys are just inflating the playtime, and i agree to a point, but a better way to get us to play longer is to actually give us more to do man, cause its all about the grind,i know it,still gets boring as hell.im sure its not easy to just drop content, but maybe different bounties, challenges would do the trick, idk what the fix is cause players always complain, but the first thing to fix the series of issues or at least the Main issue with the game is to have more to do or other ways to level up.

Edited by Tim Stephens: 12/4/2014 6:30:00 PMLet us breakdown the issue the Destiny community is having with the game thus far and the DLC that is soon to be released. First, this is a game meant for countless hours of grinding and meant to challenge those who were tired of the typical FPS where you grind for 2 weeks and unlock all of the guns and attachments. With that said, I enjoy the randomness of the weapon drop and exclusivity of the items. For those of you who have played games like WoW will understand that you can run a raid for months(or years) and still never get the Exotic drops you may want. I feel the fan base (a heavy majority) who migrated from the BF4 and COD world need to look at what a RPG/FPS would look like in a perfect world (it sure wouldn't involve everybody running around with the same gear) it is meant to feel rewarding and yes that can take time. Secondly, I think the approach of most players is slightly flawed.... Play non-stop = deserve every exotic drop. or I play for 10 hours a day and own all the noobs in Crucible so I deserve to always get legendary and exotics so the noobs can stay noobs. The idea that somebody can join in a match and do sub par and randomly( I mean 1 in every hundred or so matches) get an legendary or exotic is cool and keeps things interesting. This game is meant to be picked up every day for a couple of hours to run the dailies and bounties and then play multiplayer (on Destiny or back to your FPS that you capped out 2 weeks after you bought it) or help the community in Raids or Strikes. I will be the first to admit that Destiny is not perfect but it is a fun game to play with people and it always has something to offer anybody from the Lvl 1 to the guy with 3X30s and 22 exotics (and no life). Keep up the comments and keep pushing Bungie and Destiny a better product for that kid who picks it up 2 years from now and has a load of challenging and fun stuff ahead him. "If you come to me with a problem and no solution, We still have a PROBLEM"

You guys seriously expect us to start from scratch again? Why not add upgrades to the current gear and weapons. Think about the hours and hours and hours and hours of grinding the majority of people have put into this game. Personally I just think this is disrespectful.

Here's what I suggested: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/82292079 Copied here. Okay so a lot of people are upset about the exotic reset path. And even more are upset about losing the perks from the weapons on top of that. I'm hearing lots of arguments from both sides, many of which make at least some sense. While some of them do make sense (and I'm not going to argue every individual point) this feels too extreme. I have an idea that I think would make for a good compromise between Bungie's needs, existing player's needs, and the needs of new players. Here's how it would work. If I have an exotic with the titular perk unlocked (does NOT need to be maxed, merely have it's named perk upgraded) And I take it to Xur and have him upgrade it to the Icebreaker 2 The Icebreaker/Pocket Infinity/Invective/etc perk is MOVED to the left end of the perk tree as a perma perk (like Fan Fire on TLW) and does not need to be unlocked/upgraded on my new gun as it is always active What this does is make it feel more like I'm building on my existing exotic and less like I'm totally resetting it. So I upgrade Icebreaker with the Icebreaker perk unlocked and now what I have is the v2. It starts at the 300 base damage so I feel like I've upgraded and made my previous work permanent, I then always keep the Icebreaker Perk but would then need to unlock damage upgrades and such from there. This lets us feel like we get to keep some of our work, like we're upgrading Icebreaker 2, not re-leveling the same one. New players aren't left too far behind, as they start with the new base damage but would still need to upgrade to that perk to get it. It also means we aren't all instantly OP or badly under-leveled for the new content. What do you think, would getting to keep the important perk make the reset feel more like a newgame+ rather than having your kid cousin erase your save? If you like it vote, spread it around

So basically, Crota's End is the new exclusive means of having fun and the rest becomes an even bigger time sink due to lack of both content and planning on the part of the company?
-
So let's say I get a hawkmoon after the dark below is released. Is its max damage gonna be 300 like it was before the update, or is it gonna be higher than that?
-
First thing, I am addicted to your game. With all of the obstacles that Bungie has over come just since launch, myself and clearly a few other people have enjoyed the game immensely. Thank you all for what you have made this game to be to date. As far as the topic that is being addressed, I have been back and forth on how I feel. Initially I thought the regrind to level up exotic weapons seemed un nerving, but I still understand the reason. Then I read some of the posts from other users and a lot have great points. Which has helped me change my stance. I will agree with others that have requested the option to fully upgrade the weapon of choice, but at a higher cost. Then I think about all of the raids guns that people have obtained. I would like to see an option to respec those as well. Then if that does become an option, then why try to get the raids weapons? Well, the Dev team has their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, I will continue the game the way it is.

No, y'all are not listening. Update from 30 to 32 fine. Progress. Great. RENDERING CURRENT LEGENDARYs IRRELEVANT--wrong. Making Non-Crota Nightfall/Heroic Level 30s WRONG. Do that WITHIN Crota...fine. Removing current players legendary gear stats in favor of making money is not in keeping with the Bungie that I remember from Halo ....and that reputation was the sole reason I bought Destiny. And now you tell me that my level 29 (because of the randomness of the drops and that I can play the raid 1 million times and still never get the Raid gear) will be reduced in effect because none of my legendary gear is now going to allow me to play the game that I bought.. I'm good with making all of the new rules that you want for the expansion pack. But to make those new rules retroactive for current players is a foul and a betrayal of original players. . I'm all good with you wanting to make money...and destiny is a gorgeously done game… But since you just rendered all of my progress null and void by eradicating my current legendary gear… Well I suppose there are other video games that I can play that allow me to play.

DeeJ, this would be a good time for full disclosure on the new exotics system. All I'm seeing on the Destiny forums (not just this one) are players rebuking the new details you so vaguely laid out. How about an update that details exactly how our exotic weapons are to be altered if we choose this upgrade path? I'd like to know what the new minimum/maximum attack values will be, if any perks will be added/altered with our version 2 upgrades, and how much faster I can potentially upgrade my exotic weapons after Dec. 9, etc. If the community is overreacting over the changes, it's only because we don't know enough about it. Show us.

I've only recently had something to complain about in this game! Yup.. You Guessed it! The changes coming in the dlc! New gear and weapons vs the old! Throw away your old stuff and grind for the new! It been really enjoyable until this! So if you are listening to our feed back..... Here is some..........YA F*CKED IT UP!!!!
-
Why ask NOW after the fact, how about you get an idea approved and if you really give a squat about our opinion... ASK BEFORE IMPLEMENTING or take a GD poll. You people make it seem like you need a rocket science degree to think about this...
-
6 RepliesIf you have played any other mmo you would know this happens all the time. New gear comes out old stuff becomes useless, u grind again to get new gear. Then the next xpac silane thing happens. It keeps you playing, something to grind for. At least they are letting us upgrade our exotics so they won't become useless too, like in many games.

31 RepliesI just upgraded my PS4 hard drive by deleting Destiny to make room for Far Cry 4. That's the last upgrade I'll ever need where Destiny is concerned.

Edited by jchinchar: 12/4/2014 5:50:23 PMPlease dont bungie, add more variety to the game not just the same ole dark below bouties (youll have probably like 12 of them) will complete 50 times each to progress our weapons
-
As someone who almost has every exotic upgraded. Damn you screwed me good bungie. I feel like the hours I put into the weapons is gone. Kudos.

The salt is real on these forums

Let's face it the real reason this is happening to help newbies to the game, Christmas is around the corner, so a new shitload of players will be coming on board, so now those newbies will be able to get to the same level as those grinding away very quickly. I am just waiting for a double xp weekend a la COD

1 ReplyThe thing that upsets me is that I'm disincentivized to use my unleveled exotic items. I got some new exotics the other day that I had been excited to level up. When I logged on last night, I put them in the vault. It's not worthwhile to level them until I can get the big-kid version from Xur. Another issue: this is getting way too complicated. My wife plays with me casually. She doesn't care about min-maxing and researching the best ways to approach the game, so she just asks me for advice. For example, she'll ask "Should I upgrade this helmet?" and I'll reply, "No, that helmet is rare, but you almost have enough Vanguard marks to buy a legendary helmet, so you should save your resources." Then she'll say, "Ok." But when I tried to explain factions to her, and why she should get Vanguard rep to level 2 or 3 and then switch to a faction based on these differences, she ended up choosing New Monarchy because she liked that guy from Dexter's voice. She was excited about her first exotic gun, and now I'm going to have to explain why she shouldn't level it until some indefinite date, so she can get the real version and also all of her progress is reset. Seeing how non-gamers react to things makes me realize how much gamers are willing to put up with.

5 RepliesOne more question: -Are legendary raid weapons now going to be underpowered? Or will they be upgraded?
-
I waited two months to buy the expansion pass. At that time I thought I had a great understanding of how the game worked and was confident in my purchase. Lesson learned, I can't buy anything from you until right when it is released. Because you can and will withhold information that has great impact on how we spend time with the game to the last possible second. That is the message you've sent me.

What's the point in asking questions when we never get responses anyway. Next weekly update you will vaguely touch on part of a question and hope that we are satisfied....

Edited by ShoNuff: 12/4/2014 5:57:53 PMTo be honest, I would rather pay 21 strange coins (3 exotic shards) to evade the reset! With that said, if it's going to cost 7000 for the upgrade, at least allow us to hold more than 25000 glimmer since it more than likely cost to upgrade again.
