I actually remember it quite clearly. My buddy and I bought Destiny about a month after its release. We knew nothing about Xur, we were just having fun. Then my buddy tells me "Hey, these Strange Coins, what do they do?" So he looks it up. We learn about Xur. So the next week he's supposed to come around, we mistake his leave time (thought he'd be around on Sunday) and we're like "Crap." Next week he comes back, he's selling Icebreaker. I look over it, and it's funny my first thought was "Wow, great range but that stability is TERRIBLE." I was not fond of the perks at all either. But, like a good RPG player, I inspected the gun to see what the secondary perks were. All garbage. "What's the point of a no-stability, max range sniper when I can get something similar from the Vanguard? (Epitaph was a great 300 sinper from Vanguard)". Then I noticed there were two circles on the left. "What? This gun can't be reloaded?" In the split second before I read the next part I thought to myself "You mean I only get 6 rounds and I have to assimilate rounds into the gun with ammo drops?" And then the moment of graceful clarity came, the moment when all the universe made sense. "Regenerates ammo over time." My buddy and I haven't looked back since. It's such a small thing. Yes, maybe you can't empty 18 rounds of sniper ammo quickly into a bosses face back to back to back. But you never run out of ammo. In a boss fight where 18 rounds of sniper ammo is a tickle to the boss, weapons like this are invaluable. My friend and I didn't fully understand the relationship between impact and attack, or the relationship between attack and the enemie's level at that time either. So to see a fresh, unupgraded sniper doing 2200 damage a headshot when the highest we'd previously seen was around MAYBE 1400, was mind-blowing. This single exotic is what pushed us to delve into the game and learn as much as we could about all its weapons and armor, because this one exotic showed us how little we knew.... Hopefully my story is not a drag to read. Thought I'd share. :)
