Are you afraid of being dead?
Not dying or your actual death. Are you afraid of the idea that when you die you simply cease to exist? Have you ever though of being dead / ceasing to be?

Yes often, makes me cry to think I could never see my family again and that I could only have another 20-30 years with them. I wish I knew what was on the other side.

You won't know anything. It will be like not being born. You didn't known what was transpiring before your conception. The only reason you know the wild west happened was because you were taught about it. You were not around when that was happening. So life after the fact becomes life before the fact. Will I miss being aware? I won't even know I miss being aware.

Death is an inevitability, there's nothing we can do to stop it, and it'll happen to everyone so I see no sense in worrying about it. Instead I choose to spend my energy enjoying life as it is now

It's depressing to think there is nothing after this life. But I don't think I'm scared, just bummed out that after this I'm done. Even if reincarnation is real I will never be me again.

Kind of. Not nearly as much as I'm terrified in dying. Impending doom and all that.

4 RepliesIf heaven, hell, or purgatory are really nonexistent then I would still have no fear of death. I was perfectly content before I was born, so I feel being dead would be no different.
