Are the Awoken an Alien race or changed humans?
Exo we just slaves to humans. But they are the one i choose. No food no sleep no sickness no mood swings just being badass and out living everyone on Earth! And of course the Body upgrade every now and then. So i got the race i will play as just the class left to decide on. Warlock or Titan?
Also if i could put my mind/soul in an Adavance Robot like Exo.... you can your ass id do it right now.

My thought is that they were humans who 'drank' too much of the Traveler's power, and then when the Collapse occurred they were irreparably changed.

They [i]were[/i] human, but there are "Earth born" Awoken as well. Whatever changed them out there is passed down to their offspring.
