I was originally excited for this game in the hopes that it would have a great story and some good character development. However, as more information is coming out it appears that its more of just a shooting gallery and treasury hunting. Yes, the landscapes are expansive and the graphics are good, but I'm not seeing much of a story. I'm also disappointed in the fact that enemies run out in the open waiting to be shot. Not impressed. The enemies need to be clever and strategic. Yes you can have some mindless enemies too, but this appears to be a huge shooting gallery. I think Destiny is putting all their bets on a huge world environment and an active open multiplayer game world vs. story and strategic play, etc. I hope I'm wrong and that this is going to be a huge success, but based on what I'm seeing I'm a little bored. They need some storyline other than clearing areas of enemies to redeem a "fallen world". There needs to be some compelling races/characters and a story that develops throughout the game, some unseen twists, etc. Hopefully, I'm wrong and just not seeing the full picture. Yet, I think I may have to wait till 2015 for Mass Effect 4 as the next big success for my gaming style. My gaming experience is limited, but I was really impressed with the stories and the strategies of Mass Effect. Shootouts were much more realistic here as the enemies utilized surroundings to avoid being targeted etc. Different weapons for different races and a story behind each race where your input would change the outcome of the game. Much more compelling than what I'm seeing with Destiny. Destiny has different races, but there is nothing to gain from them. You don't give up anything to be one race over another, from what I gather. Also all weapons can be used by all classes. So I'm trying to figure out if any strategy is necessary given that all classes can use all the weapons and the different races really may have no meaning in the game (other than supers used by different classes). Hopefully I am mistaken.
