So why doesn't the U.S. have universalized healthcare yet? (NHS)

They claim it's "freedumbz" but it's really just an excuse to be more materialistic. Crippling social mobility and piss poor wealth disparity doesn't class as "freedom" in my opinion.

"I work hard and I would rather put my money into material possessions rather than a basic health insurance program" 3. "Gov'ment tray'n stealin mah freedoms" 4. "blah blah blah I graduated from a top university in economics and I know that universal healthcare will ruin our economy!" 5. "I'll just cross the boarder into Canada and make those hard working bastards pay for my healthcare."

4 RepliesIt's the American gov't, OP. They WILL screw it up. With different corporations competing, it keeps prices lower and gives more opportunity to switch if you feel like you are getting the short straw. If the American GOV't takes over then there will be one source and if the current bureaucracy is anything to judge by then people will soon be back to dying of the common cold.
