Being 550 shouldn’t have been a benefit but it really shouldn’t have been a detriment either. The tiering of power/rewards that Bungie introduced is just another mechanism to cause argument/friction amongst different sectors of the community. Bungie probably sees it all as ‘engagement’ so think it’s great.

Yet, now Bungie is punishing you? Do you understand why people are frustrated now?

Lost my diamond score in proving grounds and salt mines, by a mere 1000 points, and this happened after getting diamond score 2 more times for each, after losing it again.
