This isn't commentary on The Sieve, which I've mostly found to be a fun activity, it's that being on cooldown 75% of the time means when I feel compelled to run a Sieve, I usually can't. I'm not sure if the point was to make The Sieve feel special, or to encourage players to go into the Portal, but the result is that now I almost never check Kepler to see if The Sieve is available.
The loot is good, the activity is mostly fun, I'd like to run it more, but it's like a really good dry cleaner who's only open three hours a day on a rotating half hour schedule - you don't go to that dry cleaner.
I'm not sure what the experiment was intended to accomplish, but as a player it hasn't really worked for me. The rotation is more of a deterrent than an encouragement.
Please don't put Renegades' seasonal activity on a cooldown, and do put it in the Portal, or at least put it on the Portal screen.

I have only run it once, for the exotic quest You can farm the loot cave for any tier 5 Keplar drop, the sieve is useless

Add this to the list of mind-bogglingly counter productive decisions made in EoF. They NEED people playing the game. One quick and simple fix: make Sieve joinable 24/7. Do they do it? Nope! Equally inane: Arms Week that required us to complete Ada challenges to unlock the shotgun perks. By the time we got them done, the perks were expiring. They made content with engagement that lasted 48-72 hours! The decision making coming out of the Bungie studio just beggars belief. It is utterly inept.

Hey guys just a heads up, Sieve actually has a countdown timer on the map. Ao once completed you will have to wait 2 hrs about for next go. This was probably an idea to make sure guardians were not only doing one thing and perhaps to encourage the light grind. Vex Network on Discord also has the Sieve officially in his bot layout so go check that out as well. He originally had it set for Neomuna now he set it for Sieve. The goals were to get the exotic and go take care of that quest. However they did not (of my opinion) take into consideration we might like it. I hope this is helpful and I am sorry we are all in a rut right now with their lack of care or fake care given. I pray it gets better otherwise ima have to go i to business just to buy them later.. ugh what a daunting goal.

I've only played it once. I got better things to do with my time instead of sitting in orbit waiting for one activity to become playable.

4 RepliesAnd just think, we could've had the real plague lands. Could've had the Forge. Could've had Wrath of the Machine with those epic raid weapons in tier 5 form. Man Bungie is lazy and incompetent. Want my Genesis Chain and Chaos Dogma tier 5's.

8 RepliesHaven’t looked at Kepler since finishing the hideous campaign, it’s a terrible destination, just wish there’d been more thought into what people actually wanted to play
-
1 ReplyHonestly I think its a stupid idea to have a cooldown timer for it,We should be able to play it anytime we want.
-
6 RepliesNow that I think about it we need more alters of sorrow style world events where it just runs and you can join whenever with whoever.... it would definitely brings some life into the world....
-
3 RepliesI did it for the new exotic to unlock it in collections, then never ran it again. Every time I happened to check, it had like 5 minutes left.
-
I did it once… the fact it takes place in the “social space” makes me think about how little effort went into it
-
1 ReplyCrazy how their only brand new activity is on like a 2 hour cool down with no notification it’s gonna be up at all 💀
-
It’s no loss it’s boring as balls
-
Never played it once. Never seen it available. Stopped checking.
-
3 RepliesIs the loot any good? Seems the loot cave would be more efficient. Every time the activity pops up it shows me T4 as rewards. I get T5 just mindlessly killing in the loot caves, and it's always up. Is it different rewards or Keplar only items??
-
"We hear your complaints about the world event on neomuna! So for keplar we decided to make it worse!"
-
There should be a countdown timer in the portaloo to (at least) alert players of its existence…then it’s up to each player whether to engage or not. Upon completion, the campaign exotic drops. Have done it on my T and W…still to do it on my H…was saving it as am doing the campaign on legendary at the moment…however, it’s a pita…so, I’ll probably just do The Sieve to get the drop instead! 🤔 Or, maybe I’ll just not bother…🫤 Not sure what loot drops after the campaign exotic has been acquired? And, am not bothered to find out, either… 🫤 That is all. Ease Slings! 🖖👻

I'm still trying to come across the third boss so I can get my last kepler triumph completed :(
-
I've been able to do it 3 times lmao And I've only ever gotten ll200 and tier 1 loot from it, it ain't worth waiting for anyway.
-
Damn i forget that activity is in the game 😂
-
2 RepliesI have not played this activity even once; where/how do you do so?
-
I enjoy the sieve. It's a fun activity. Like you, I'm not going looking for it since most of the time it isn't active. I forget it's an option. I wish it was more like Sorrows Harbour or Neomuna where it's active almost all the time in a patrol zone, or as an instance like Wellspring or Dares.
-
14 RepliesI mean it’s a pretty bad activity. Kinda doing me a favor by not letting me play it more than once in a row.
-
7 RepliesEdited by Dragokin: 10/20/2025 10:16:43 PMWhat's the sieve?
-
1 ReplyI suppose their dilemma was that, if they included it in the portal where it was free for everyone, then it would have been one less thing they could say people got for buying EoF. But by not including it in the portal they guaranteed very few people would play it much.
-
1 ReplyI ran it earlier to get the Hellion gloves. I'll do Hunter and Titan soon. I couldn't be arsed doing the campaign again on Legendary 3 times.
-
Maybe a pain but get the vex assistant notifications on twitter or discord - it messages you when one goes live - the sieve & vex incursions.
