Did yall actually like the state of destiny before?

Did you actually enjoy it? Never actually being rewarded for effort or grinding. Spending countless hours looking for a +1 stat upgrade on armor. Having to have 100 resil. Yall act like we had freedom but it was just use the same armor and weapons forever with minimal changes. At least now we have a reason to grind for better gear. Yea we're gonna have to do the grind again, but it actually gives everyone an equal playing field. The teams that legitimately completed the raid race didnt just walk in with the same loadouts they've been using since forsaken and pubstomp it. They had to try and use their skill. Its so funny watching everyone break down because bungie finally added difficulty to destiny and made the game interesting again. Im sure theyre going to improve the grind, we're in week 3 of a drastic change it will take some time for the systems to be tuned. Stop complaining, If you dont like it then stop playing and wait for it to get better. One must imagine sisyphus happy.

I'm convinced people like you are bungies damage control secretly going into forums and posting crap like this. Yes the game will be fine tuned LATER but we paid for it now. If they can't deliver on that then they shouldn't have dumped the update on us in a half finished state. The game is in the worst state it has ever been cheaters in the world first race cause bungie won't take action against them. The updates are busted and not showing the true effects of the new stats. PvP is broken broken with weird slow mechanics lagging the player when they spawn in. They removed GMs in favor of this timed bs that's seasonal and can only be done once per season and it offers no real challenge. Like come on dude your over here defending a billion dollar company that is on the verge of bankruptcy cause they won't manage their game properly. Mainly cause they're too busy doing damage control for plagiarized art in their new flagship game marathon. So they're just phoning it in on destiny 2 to get funding for that and we all know they'll sell off destiny 2 when marathon takes off they did it to halo they'll do it again. "Stop complaining" no you stop lying to yourself this game is dead and bungie killed it.

As bad as a lot of the changes are right now, I honestly completely agree with this. I found the game to be extremely dull by the end of the episode, I ran out of stuff to chase and would just get on LFG and sherpa people through vespers host or do ultimatum dungeons or lowman challenges or something. And it was fun to just play but when there is no loot in the loot game it does get old quick, and I was looking forward to the changes in edge of fate because I was excited to literally just have ANYTHING to go after again. I think a lot of the changes did not stick the landing at all. The worst being that the grind is just grinding old activities. But with how the community feedback has been I am certain that bungie will fold on their vision and make it a lot more enjoyable and meaningful, they have no choice. Other things that launched poorly are improving already less than a month in. They QUICKLY walked back the -10 delta in raids and dungeons which is awesome. Ability cooldowns were bugged on launch and were promptly fixed, making the new armour system much more fleshed out since it is much more rewarding to invest in stats now. Im cautiously optimistic that things will continue to improve. They took a lot of risks and looks like they are willing to accept when things were a swing and a miss and quickly adjust accordingly.

      • I loved seasons. New story and activities… it made the world feel alive and continuing. Loot grind just for the sake of loot grind is empty. That being said… the armor system and onboarding system needed help big time and we got that with EoF

      • It wasn't perfect but it was better. There are a few things I like but the drastically increased power grind and regular sunsetting of gear are both deal-breakers by themselves.

The gameplay felt smoother and my abilities actually felt strong. Now 90% of my abilities basically might as well not be used unless I have a damage boosting exotic that gives like 500% more damage to that specific ability. And I'm still not being rewarded for grinding. What I grind 80 hours and I might get loot that is 1% stronger than the exact same weapon I'm using? Edit: Also you talk about difficulty but it's like. They made the enemies like 50x more bulky but kept their damage relatively the same which means every encounter is just me standing still as I slowly kill 5 dregs. And after like 500 enemies my reward is mostly +1 to a single piece of armor and some unstable cores which according to some videos you'll need to dismantle 63 armor pieces to go up +1 level in light which sounds boring as hell. And raids/dungeons aren't worth doing because bungie made sure guaranteed loot sources such as them are dropping average to below average loot. Why is a -20 raid dropping tier 1 loot? It's so bad I haven't even played it yet.

        • I was enjoying it, yeah, to the point where I started working on my other two characters just so that I could play it all again. I tried different activities found my favorites and got it of my comfort zone, but in a fun way. To be fair though, I only started a little over a year ago so I'm not at the level of jaded of someone who's been playing for the last decade. Yet.

        • Wasn’t the best but better than whatever drip feeding content they have now. The fact that they’re drip feeding us our old content to get like the 6 pieces of new gear is pretty sad.

          • I honestly don’t understand how everyone criticized bungie for not utilizing older content for progression in the past, for years, then they overhaul the progression system in EOF, where you can actually target your loot drops/quality in any activity and consistently raise your power upon completion, until the cap. I’d take this system over grinding pinnacle engrams with a chance at getting the drop I needed. Then after exhausting all the pinnacle sources, there’s basically nothing to do until reset a week later. So many people were saying they just logged in, sat in orbit, then closed the game cause there’s nothing to do before EOF. In EOF missions rotate daily with bonus drops in activities. I can literally go home and play whatever I’m feeling and progress in power by the end of the night. Before I’d just sit in orbit too and maybe play in the strike playlist nd by the end of night dismantle all the loot because it was all worthless basically. Also, I don’t think anyone is even pacing themselves and taking the time to just have fun. Again, I have a full time job nd my hunter is almost 330 without brute forcing leveling, just enjoying a variety of missions. I’ve gotten the first two conquest missions out of the way and it was actually pretty fun and felt good putting together a build with only the new gear then successfully beating those missions on my own. As a solo majority player, for the first time I actually feel like I can reach that high power and gear tier without necessarily having to rely heavily on 3-6 man activities for power boost and what not. Just started getting all tier 3 random drops, have a couple tier 4’s, and it’s exciting to see higher stat totals and the impact it makes on my gameplay/builds. I don’t know, I just don’t think EOF is as bad as everyone thinks

              • Personally, I don't mind a reasonable grind when you are rewarded for it such as for farming better gear or being able to over-level. Currently, the only reason to grind 200+ levels from the soft cap is to be able to access harder content and have higher tier loot to drop, otherwise you are locked out and only receive the weakest tier regardless of the difficulty you select. They did change that to be able to access Master and Grandmaster at lower levels, but even though it scales to -40 and -50, you still need to get close enough so that it's not -100 or more and immune which is baffling and the rewards will be the same. Why is it not scaling to your level regardless, if it is always -40 and -50 once you reach their "desired" threshold? Was this update not supposed to allow us to select our own difficulty? That said, there are some good changes that happened, it's just that there are so many negatives that outweigh the good which is where a lot of the complaints are coming from. They probably will fix those eventually but it is still important to let them know our opinions on the game otherwise there may never be any changes.

              • Yes Destiny 1. The entire life of the game. Came to the long train wreck that has been D2 kicking and screaming and it has continued to get little but worse the entire time but I think they have finally dug down to bedrock now

                • I actually did for the most part, but I've been enjoying the changes as well; that's why I've continued to play the game. When I find myself not enjoying it though, I stop and play something else.
