GIVE US BACK SEASONAL CRAFTED WEAPONS!!!

I want to point something out, when Bungie first introduced Crafting weapons in the Witch Queen DLC, they told us why they were doing this, they said it was to relieve us of vault space management, so that you can make your own personal weapon and you don't have to grind the crap out of an activity just to get a GOD roll weapon. Answer me this, how many times have you grinded for a weapon, you look over it and see it has the two God traits you want and get excited, but then look at its other perks and their trash. I feel like 90% of players get fed up with playing the same activity after so many attempts and get nothing, the reason Bungie took seasonal crafting weapons away was because someone said they wanted more people to play the activities and will make people play the activity more?... NO!!! It won't! Because at the end act, no one is going to be doing the activities because of 1 of 2 things. 1. They've got all their GOD roll weapons. 2. They got so fed up grinding the activities that they not doing them anymore.

  • I blame Datto and every Streamer who complained about crafted weapons ruining their game time. 😤

  • I agree. When did crafting become a bad thing? Let us craft please. I played seasonal content just enough so I could craft the weapons. Without it, I can't bring myself to grind, so I just don't play the content.

      • I would farm for craftables. I'm not farming for specific rolls. Simple.

Yeah, this change completely killed my motivation to play. Having patterns in the game makes me want to play more and grind more, because I know I'm GUARANTEED to get what I want eventually. I've even grinded for weapons that I didn't really care about just because I wanted to have the patterns for later, in case I might want to make a build with one of them in the future. That and I'm a completionist, so when I know my hard work is guaranteed to pay off, I'll spend as much time as it takes to finish my pattern collection. By comparison, I've barely played at all this season, and most of my play time has been to grind out Zavala's reward track, because at least that's a strong weapon that I'm GUARANTEED to get. Weapon patterns made it so we didn't have to grind for hours and hours, praying to Bungie's terrible rng, just for the CHANCE of maybe getting a half decent weapon or two. It solved the problem of players feeling like Bungie doesn't respect our time. Now they're telling us they want to purposefully disrespect our time by removing a system that solved that issue. It just completely kills my enthusiasm to play the game.

Or farm for a god roll, get your god roll after spending an ungodly amount of time farming for it, and then it gets nerfed or powercrept.

          • Crafting ruins the longevity of content (raids etc) and makes drops at start of a season pointless and loot not exciting

            • I basically don't bother with the seasonal stuff now. I don't want to clog my vault with potential rolls that will either never be relevant (i.e., this episodes stuff), get power crept, or just flat out nerfed. Red border solved at least having the option to get one later if I needed it.

            • I 100% agree. Thanks to some youtubers/streamers (no need to mention names - everybody knows who. checkboxlist mimimimi) they took seasonal craftable weapons away. But I found an easy solution: I just ignore this seasons weapons in the same way i ignore those tonics (which give me weird world of warcraft vibes but that's another story). Collecting weapon patterns was a real reason for me to play the seasonal activities. But hey, that's just me. Cheers.

              • but but, datto doesn’t care about loot and “wants to raid with the buds”. i wondered why all the destiny youtubers were covering this like their lives depended on it. the destiny youtubers have this issue because they ALL wanted to do away with red borders and crafting. bungie got rid of it and now it isn’t possible to get actual random rolls according to the data. it is my contention that pc and the destiny youtuber parasites have more often than not ruined this game.

                • After the omnishambles of the weighted perk drama and the UTTER INCOMPETENCE of Bungie failing to notice how the RNG works in their own -blam!--ing game, (see this :- https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2024/10/25/bungie-admits-something-is-up-with-destiny-2-drop-weighting/) weapon crafting has to return next season. Ok rant ahead. I went seriously off topic here. 😂
My tagline has never been more apt. I’m so -blam!--ing sick of Bungie’s clumsy and deliberate -blam!- ups, I couldn’t give a 💩 how good “Frontiers” looks, it’ll take a literal miracle for me to purchase any more 💩 from this company. Given what we know about reused assets from their failed projects that cost us Destiny 3 being “shoed into” the game, I’m already mostly disinterested in “Frontiers”. Metroidvania, survival and rogue-like game modes? -blam!- off Bungie!! -blam!- right off!! If I wanted to play games like this I wouldn’t be playing D2. Even if I did want these in D2 given your current state of incompetence, I’d bet my house, car and possibly my own life that you’d -blam!- up the implementation of these modes into D2. I mean look at the issues this season. Ignition being just one. No fix ‘till next act 🤦‍♂️. And this was caused by a surreptitious attempt to nerf ignitions due to consecration spam. They -blam!--ed that up and super nerfed ignitions across the board. If they’d just nerfed it against Ranieks United in the first place then we wouldn’t have to wait a month for a fix for an issue they caused. Which they lied by omission about, and oh whoops we “forgot” to add it to the patch notes. That excuse was old in 2020. It’s beyond deceit or incompetence now. Change your studio name to Bungled, as that is what you are best at. Ok rant over.
Tl;dr. Put crafted weapons back in seasonal content you utter muppets.

                  • Crafting was one of the best things they added. Your hard work pays off by being able to essentially create a god roll of your choice, not just some meta where everyone uses the same gun with the same perks. It offers balance to players play style. Also god rolls change as Bungie nerfs and buffs many things in game. With crafting you have the ability to adapt to these changes as they progress therefore making crafting a vital part of build crafting. Red border farms are not hard, it's rng that pays of in the long run as you get to create a weapon when you want and or need it, and it saves on vault space which everyone complains about. Just grinding for a 1 time god roll that will effectively be nerfed or outdated to then have to redo the same activity everyone complains about having to run over and over and over and over again to get the new god roll when crafting it is beyond me. You literally dig your own grave at that point if thinking crafting is bad for the game.

                    • I don't even care anymore. Bungie clearly took away crafting so they could game the random rolls with their usual toxic bullshit. This drv team just never learns. Tell me again that your impossible random god rolls was a "glitch" after being publicly humiliated and being called out on your nonsense... Love this game, hate this developer... Sony can't move in fast enough...

                    • Thank Datto (and the others) for this, he complained that he found it hard to get together raid teams because people have had crafted everything a raid had. Now we're back to rng drops with rng rolls, only place you can get red borders is Garden and their drop rates are abysmal because of the loot pool being diluted due to armor

Pros of RNG loot: * Keeps you playing an activity longer therefore "more content" * Certain perk rolled weapons can be rare giving them percieved "value" Cons of RNG loot: * Doesn't incentivise engagement in good faith (encounter farm cheeses and not running full activities) * No guarantee to get the exact perks on the weapon you want or even see that weapon drop at all during an entire activity. * Due to game age leaps in power for weapons is too minimal for the time investment required to get perfect weapons to be worthwhile. * Time investment to experiment with a perk combo that might not end up being good. * Causes vault space problems Pros of Crafting: * Guarantees yourself the exact weapon rolls you want on weapons * Incentivises full activity playthroughs * Allows for more experimentation and build crafting potential with less time investment * Allieviates vault space issues * Keeps legacy weapons relevant if a niche can be filled with them and are able to be recrafted at any point Cons of Crafting: * Potentially less time spent and less incentive on replaying an activity for a weapon * Items aren't really able to be rare * Can lead to activity population decline due to having all patterns (still happens regardless with RNG loot and with activity age) Can't really think of any other things for this and I ain't going to include emotional points of loot feeling "special" because that really isn't objective. Crafting was mostly a W for the game just needs some alterations to make it a bit better and add more depth than get 5 red borders imo.

                            • Please bring them back. Possibly infinite grinding shouldn't be tied to mechanical rewards. I could see restricting mementos to "wild" weapons, but the current state of the game is discouraging, to say the least.

                              • Crafting is bad for Destiny. Make it pointless after 2 weeks. You don’t need a god roll on every single weapon from every single activity in a week or two. It’s just play and they come over time.

                                • We NEED a middle ground. What if random drops were all that’s available for the season - and then at some point (either once the season is over or at some point just before the next expansion) the patterns become available. Obtaining the patterns could just be 2 drops with decent drop rates. It would give plenty of time to chase the rolls, and then allow the crafted versions to fill their original role as bad luck protection and vault space compression.

                                  • Crafting was one of the nails in the coffin for me leaving. It killed the loot grind. Loot became boring and pointless for years. Destiny lived and thrived on loot drops. They move to crafting, making loot drops the least exciting thing in the game. Then behold! Game becomes boring on several fronts and has the lowest playerbase in history. The Opulence system was probably the best system they had for gear focusing and should have fallen back on that instead of crafting.

                                      • Another sad truth about this is how the players justify exploiting cheeses to chase a god roll than just doing the encounters as intended. If you hate crafting so much and love grinding, why cheese. Oh but the RNG is horrible. Sounds like an excuse to exploit a game to get weapons faster, to then never touch that content regardless. Even with crafting you get something valuable out of it, and still never touch that content ever again either way. That's the point of a collector, to collect what you want. When done you never need to chase it either way. Wish Bungie would patch every cheese and exploit so players can play the game legitimately as intended. Then everyone would cry that the grind is too long, and I quit playing. It's the same book different page year after year. It's just a game enjoy it.
