Tired of just getting beaten down and down and down by this game and it’s ridiculous nonsense contest mode world first races ect when it’s always gunna be a streamer group or content creators which strike bungie’s ego.
When will the game actually become more than publicity to make the money come roll on in ?
Dungeons and raid contest mode has been catered to the player who can successfully drive out any connection to the world have insider knowledge of what’s the best loadouts weapons and gear.
All I wanted was something to have and look back on to say yeh it was fun and I had fun getting that item but as always with destiny I’m left with just burnt out anger and resentment that I gave my gosh darn soul to make it but it still wasn’t good enough.
Contest modes are just too gosh darn hard especially when the environment has flaws and the boss can snipe spam you while you’re dunking ! Great one ! AND a DPS area that you can’t even stop for two seconds to actually effectively do DPS as the floor is litterally lava.
I hate how the games come down to where it is

1 ReplyHere comes the flood of elitists to tell you the game is fine.
-
"When will the game go back to being fun?" As long as the current Bungie is pulling the strings, never
-
3 RepliesAs soon as bungie stop catering for the elitist/streamer population and listen to the bigger community. This is supposed to be a hobby, not a bloody extra job. Most do this to break the stress of reality and not get more stressed from doing a hobby.

18 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 10/14/2024 12:49:12 PMDestiny should be fun first, challenging second. Game has been slowly been designed more around being a chore or with a bunch of different annoyances that I'm not suprised the concurrent players are cratering. Contest mode is too divisive for the game that honestly Bungie should just do away with it and just do officiated teams for their own tournament for the dungeon/raids maybe with some charity drive or something, and just release the content at normal difficulty at release. If players that genuinely enjoy contest mode actually cared about the game they'd ask for Bungie to make it a permanent difficulty setting that you could select but they'd rather keep their fomo bragging rights than making the game better. However contest recently has becoming less and less balanced, enemies taking forever to die making you rely on busted meta builds just to clear a room of constantly infinitely spawning mobs it is just ridiculous. This dungeon contest was a prime example of bad game design and balancing relying on people swaping their loadouts mid encounter to either cheese heavy ammo drops or to use double special because on contest boss health was ridiculous. The most optimal way to do stuff in the game shouldn't be to swap stuff mid encounter even on contest. Salvation's Edge also having the lowest completion rates of any raid in the game isn't a coincidence.

2 RepliesUp to the point of gaming where it suddenly became all about streaming for money and clout that no one cares about, gaming was fun. Unfortunately, professional players think it’s great to crush the fun out of this hobby for people that don’t use gaming as a source of income. It’s old, annoying, and has ruined the spirit of what games are, a place to be something else, a hero, a race car driver, a plumber who saves the princess, a vampire killer etc. Games are now a place to spout off hate toward strangers, make money off of companies who have limitless spend and very little oversight and a platform for terrible businesses to advertise gaming supplements for people who believe it will help them get better.

I took a break a month ago. Played this new season when it dropped, did not like the tonic idea, just didn't want to do it. So I'm now ready to start Dragons Dogma 2. Still like Destiny, just not interested in this season.
-
Unfortunately i doubt it will i have tried for days to enjoy destiny but its just depressing and burning me out there's no chill fun there's no relaxed enjoyment its just hard over mecanic heavy strugles and grind unless u like that its unlikely to change

11 RepliesEdited by Wolves: 10/13/2024 1:42:13 PMThis game is about catering to content creators, not gamers. Its has infinite potential, but it will never be utilized. Fun is not a requirement.
-
1 ReplyBungie literally invites all the content creators out for their take on the game....so it is made for them. That's it. This is why the game has been suffering. I'm really curious on how many NEW players are picking up the game? Shouldn't that be there focus, get more people, not less. But the top players are literally buying everything bungie has to offer. They are buying everything in the store. Just wait until destiny rising comes out, all the streamers will buy every piece of monetization possible.

It'll probably never be more than a boring way to pass time again. It used to be my favorite game. The new generation of game developers just isn't as good as the previous generation, I suppose. From my three decades plus of experience as an adult in the work force( I started my first job in 1989) I must say the current generation of young adults is the fattest, laziest, least productive, and least able to be left unsupervised I've ever encountered. There have always been those types of people in the workforce, but they are much more prevalent now. The current motto seems to be " don't try to stand out or be good at my job, just stare blankly and do as I'm told."

This game will never be fun again. All the talent has been laid off or quit etc. All that's left is talentless bums who will continue to come up with lame content and run destiny further into the ground. Sony needs to just get rid of the remaining staff and call it a day
-
I’m still enjoying myself.

9 RepliesContest mode is supposed to be difficult, not give out participation trophies. Some people, like myself, enjoy doing hard content such as contest mode. Normal mode is available for those who don't wish to compete in contest, or feel it's too difficult. Streamers are going to stream these activities, but they're not "made for them." If you need some tips/advice, I would be happy to give you some.

The floor is also metaphorically lava and the ceiling is glass for some of us. Woe is us! Woe!
-
13 Repliesis called skill issue my guy, if you are not a super good player, don't play contest, wait for the ez mode to unlock simple
-
2 RepliesContest modes are meant to be cleared by the best. People are not entitled to every reward in the game. This is how MMOs work. You want to beat contest mode? Develop your skills, builds , gear and find a team that is also skilled and looking for the same goal. That's what everyone that clears contest mode does.

Difficulty is the least of the problems this game is facing. Devs tell players what supers and weapons to use every season and force players to play a certain style via load outs, champions and surges. I like playing games but not being played by them. Gate keeping via light level to cover up lack of meaningful content maybe due to how long in the tooth the game has become. Removing expansions people paid for and sunsetting weapons just to announce they are no longer sunset? It’s too bad as I used to really like this studio and game but there’s nothing to like anymore and the lack of player base verifies. Sony should understand what they need to do at this point so get on with it.

3 RepliesWould it be considered hateful to say Ive had more fun playing Pal World than Destiny?
-
1 ReplyFun isn’t the priority. Keeping the addicts addicted is.
-
1 ReplyUnless you can get a Time Machine to go back to Taken King or Forsaken, the games done for

🤣🤣🤣 Never, Destiny is far too gone.

2 Replieswhy do you people think this game is so hard. maybe if you would apply yourself and try to be better at the game then youd get the hard stuff done

4 RepliesIt won't unless you have a couple of close friends u truly vibe with just to play endgame stuff
