Bye Bungie, after 10 years and 8.000+ hours it's over for me...

Hello Bungie, I'm here to say goodbye, I've just started my refund process at PSN regarding Destiny: Final Shape. Over the last 10 years I've played Destiny almost every single day (played 8.000+ hours) and let me tell you it was the best game I have ever had my hands on, the game play was absolutely superb and the community was by far the best I have ever been part of. I recon you have had an harsh time handling success because since the launch of Destiny 1 it has been downhill from there but my love for the game was so big that I pre-order every single DLC without a blink, because I had hopes that at some point you would learn from your mistakes, but you never did. Loyalty Your first error was to focus on casual players and to ignore the hardcore gamers who showed every Tuesday for the weekly reset (PVE) and every Friday for the Trials of Osiris (PVP) by doing so you simply ignored the fact that the engine of the community was made by the hardcore gamers, they were the ones playing countless hours, building content and supporting Bungie every single move. You preferred the casual "one night stand" what you forgot is that they don't stay in bed for the next morning. Epicness The game was epic on so many levels and the reactions (content) it generated on social media were priceless but it seemed you never understood that. I still remember dropping to my knees in my living room screaming when Hawkmoon finally dropped after months waiting for it, I celebrated like never before in a video game and Youtube was full of these celebrations. But again, it seemed you didn't play the same game I did, because you chose to make exotic engram drops (and overall drops) so casual that they feel ordinary, boring and indifferent. Trials Trials was by far the best online console PVP tournament and the numbers showed you that, the mode was perfect, it required team work (what Destiny was all about team and community) and I played every single week (I have more than 12.000 trials games played since Destiny 1). But again it seemed you didn't even understood what you have created since you decided to ruin the special shine of Trials of Osiris (like you did across both PVP and PVE) by changing the PVP mode elimination which everyone loved (I don't remember anyone asking for flags) and you decided to bring Freelance Solo playlist. By bringing Freelance Solo Playlist you destroyed one of the game's last pillars which was the team work, the community, the carries, the people meeting each other, the need to partner to achieve a goal and that was one of Destiny's strongest foundations. Light Light was one of the most solid foundation of the game, it was the reason why I raided every week (on multiple raids) the reason why I did nightfall and every single event available because I wanted to be top light level so I could then jump back into my favourite PVP events. When you decided to make light level obsolete and pointless I simply stopped playing PVE and so did most of my clan mates and I recon many hardcore players. Marathon Gambit was never a huge success and this shows how clueless you guys are when launching a new PVP game (Marathon) you chose to do an extraction mode aka Gambit 2.0 when the real success was simple PVP in Destiny, but once again you wanted to be "creative", the same (bad) creativity that has been killing Destiny since the launch of Destiny 2. Final note I could go on and on, because the bad decisions you have made over the last decade are ludicrous and show that you couldn't manage neither the game itself or Destiny's success and now you are handling the consequences of your poor decisions. I've just finished the refund request at PSN for Destiny:Final Shape. "See you starside" Maybemore David

  • How is making the low to mid game more difficult & tedious making it for casuals. It's typical bungie getting it completely wrong. End game players asked for harder content, so bungie punished the bottom 80% & left the endgame the same. They even made levelling to soft cap more tedious as blues barely drop, then once there the seasonal activities are much harder than before, literally people dying nonstop due to enemy density & awful modifiers. Take this from someone who's lived in endgame & now starts new accounts bcoz I'm bored & don't do endgame anymore, this game is no longer fun, it's tedious, boring, mundane, no one likes dying nonstop, no one, but they put 3 brand new players with v low stats & guns into endgame style seasonal activities & kills them endlessly. No wonder player sentiment & numbers have never been lower.

    • Potassium. See you at final shape. Delete your data or this pity note of a departure doesn’t mean squat.
