PSA - Stole this from reddit - For game pass players, losing access on Dec 8

There seems to be a lot of posts about this since yesterday's announcement, so I'm hoping to clear this up for some people.
Here's what you will not lose:
- Any gear you have acquired. All weapons, armor, exotics, as well as light based subclasses
- You will not lose access to any patrol locations, all locations are accessible to all players
- Legend / Master lost sectors. You can still run these. Your loot pool, however, is determined by the expansions you own.
You can still play every strike through the playlist, but you cannot launch individual strikes unless you own the expansion, which includes if and when a strike is the Nightfall for a given week. F2P NF strikes include: The Arms Dealer, The Devil's Lair, The Disgraced, Exodus Crash, Fallen S.A.B.E.R, The Inverted Spire, The Insight Terminus, Lake of Shadows
Prophecy and Vault of Glass are F2P and will remain accessible to all players
If you are a current game pass owner, and losing access to the expansions on Dec 8, this is what you will lose access to. In other words, if you want to keep this stuff, you will need to buy the corresponding expansion outright:
Forsaken
(note: the forsaken "expansion" is going away, and will require the forsaken pack after Dec 7)
- Raid: Last Wish
- Dungeon: Shattered Throne
- Strikes: Broodhold, The Corrupted, The Hollowed Lair (Note: Warden of Nothing will be F2P per dcv update
- Any Forsaken era exotics you have not acquired
Shadowkeep
- Raid: Garden of Salvation
- Dungeon: Pit of Heresy
- Strikes: Scarlet Keep
- Any Shadowkeep era exotics you have not acquired
- Nightmare hunts
- Lectern - which means you cannot farm moon weapons
Beyond Light
- Raid: Deep Stone Crypt
- Subclass: Stasis (This is unique to stasis. You must own BL on the platform where you are playing in order to equip stasis)
- Strikes: Glassway, Proving Grounds (Edit: pointed out below, if you own a season 13 pass, you can still access Proving Grounds, at least until WQ comes out)
- Empire Hunts
- Exo Challenge
- Variks challenges - which means you cannot farm Europa weapons
- Access to Trials of Osiris (Note: this is only until WQ comes out. When WQ comes out, you'll need to own WQ instead)
- Any Beyond Light era exotics you have not acquired

For those that only play this game through Gamepass (and will lose these licenses), looks like Microsoft is throwing a sale right now for all three Expansions (Forsaken, Shadowkeep and Beyond Light) for $31.99 -- AKA the Legendary Edition. There will be no need whatsoever to worry about which recycled garbage Bungie is letting you keep since you won’t be using it anyway. Cheers!

If you have not done any of the Stasis missions to unlock stasis except for on only one character, are the other characters stasis and aspect classes just going to unlock on their own like the newer middle subclass selections did way back when? Or are we just going to be stuck with basic stasis and missing whatever Aspect we never went for? I refused to "Give in to Stasis" and use it. (Unless it is a weapon.) I chose to honor Zavala's wishes. Yes, yes, I know it seems lame, and might not be rewarded in the least, but hey, it is of evil... Maybe Savathun can control you once you have the stuff in you. Maybe the Pyramids WANTED you to use it so the Traveler can no longer revive you. MAYBE it simply wants to FREEZE YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT COMPLETELY DESTROYING THE TRAVELERS ARMY IN ONE FELL SWOOP SO THE TRAVELER CAN BE NEXT!!! MAYB-- Transmission lost.

Makes sense to me. Game pass is a service Mircosoft provides where they pays for access to access to game for the customers. Once Mircosoft's contract is done so is player's access to Destiny content.

4 RepliesHonestly, people shouldn't be upset at this, they should have seen this coming, ps+ games do the same thing, they have a certain amount of time in the spotlight and then go away, the contract for the game pass is expiring, just wait a week for Christmas sales and buy all the DLC for like 15 dollars

6 RepliesI've played many MMO's where you could go back and do anything in an old expansion that you paid for. I know, memory limits, yada yada. OK, it turns out consoles for a 7 year MMO (that's probably just as much a looter/shooter if not more, arguable for sure) wasn't the best idea. Doesn't matter for me. The game's already stale beyond belief, I'm tired of buying into something that's broken. They can keep the 30th anniversary cash grab and everything beyond.

10 RepliesSo how do we play Trials between the 8th dec and whenever witch queen releases? It seems silly/ obnoxious that they should take that away before the new dlc releases. In other words, are they expecting us to buy a dated dlc we've already played through that's soon to be superceded by witch queen just to keep access in the interim? Like just leave it all there until witch queen? Why this period in between where the game is dry AF take these things away. Why would anyone think it's worthwhile to fork out the full price of beyond light I'm assuming just to keep access to everything they already have just for a couple of months until witch queen?

Yeahhhh bungie soz mate destiny has alot of potential but with infinite multiplayer out now and campaign in December which is all on gamepass there's just no way in hell im putting any money into buying beyond light when its taken off gamepass or witch queen when it comes out. I don't reckon I'll be forever quitting but destiny dlc is sooooo far away from worth the amount of money they're asking for it.

I quit playing as of now because why bother? I'm not going to pay for expansions I've had for free for a year (and which led to me buying the seasons and playing). 30th anniversary isn't interesting to me. And there's 0% of me buying Witch Queen if they are going to force me to buy Beyond Light to get stasis back. Buh Bye Bungie.

For anyone on PC, Steam will have autumn sale next week. Just buy Legendary edition and you good to go. It probably will be 40$ on sale.
