I don’t understand why it has to pull me in a different direction when I’m clearly hard aiming down sights at a fixed target

1 ReplyI absolutely HATE when that happens. Does my guardian have ADHD or something? It's just about to take out an enemy but "oh look! there's another one!" Leaves enemy with one splinter of health left to start shooting the new one. wtf man.
-
2 RepliesIf there was no aim assist you wouldn't hit anything.
-
2 RepliesYou’re only hitting that target due to AA. Get over yourself.
-
Because aim assist tracks target in front of you. If something else crosses reticle it will pull it off target because the new thing is now the closest. I’ve disabled aim assist on games before due to stuff like that but there’s a trade off for having aim assist and that’s it.
-
If you play console you wouldn’t be able to hit crap without it. Have you tried shooting to little laser pods that fly around europa recently? There is no aim assist on those -blam!- and they are very hard to shoot consistently. You wouldn’t like this game without aim assist.

9 RepliesThat’s not aim assist. That’s what’s known as Reticle Friction. And yes it sux for controllers in PvE. But it shouldn’t be getting you killed. If you’re that close to death by missing a shot you were probably going to die anyway. Move your britches guardian!!!
-
There needs to be a controller setting in the game to turn it off
-
YES, god other people who notice this!! I thought I was losing my mind. We need a slider that lets us tone down some of the ADS aim assist in PVE. Cant even count how many times i’ve been engaging a long range enemy that is clearly the bigger threat like a major or champion, then the aim assists decides my reticle needs to slide a full inch to the left because a single thrall ran by
-
Even worse in pvp.
-
Wish it was a toggle.
-
Well according to some people on here you're all completely incapable of functioning without aim assistance and apparently shouldn't even be given the choice at all.

1 Replyunintentional finishers get me killed or mess up my meles

2 RepliesIt sucks trying to shoot a warmind cell in a group of enemies

Don't walk around adsing all the time hey problem solved
-
As much as I find it annoying, the aim assist in the game is what makes everyone believe we are “legends” I am not sure Bungie can code it so that it doesn’t pull aim without making everyone believe they can’t hit their targets “anymore.”
-
That does happen. Needs some adjusting.

It's not just shooting either. When you pick up an artifact, like the data cube in Override, you can max your jump and then melee for a bit of extra distance to get the hell out of the Vex domain. Well, don't let an enemy such as a Wizard be too close to you or you will do a 180 degree turn and melee her instead. This usually results in death. Unrelated, but irritating none the less, I've noticed smaller red bars love to make a b-line into my line of sight while trying to kill a champion or Major/Ultra and it is almost infuriating.

by aa you mean" anti assist"
