I’m sure it may have been said before, but why not utilize the same model for the trials bounty that gives the 3 wins reward. 10-matches gives the 3 win, 20 matches gives the 5 win reward, 30 matches gives the 7 win reward, 40 matches gives the flawless reward. Wins grant extra progress, and win streaks grant even more progress.
I know the PVP elite would love to gatekeep such rewards from the middling to low tier pvpers, but I have a feeling this could grant an even better boost to player base. I’m sure if I got an adept messenger that the PVP elite would still dominate me. I know if such a bounty incentive was available, I would be on it every weekend until I got the loot from the whole playlist.

2 Replieswhile i agree that gate keeping is something that needs to go, i don't think Flawless rewards should go to anyone. they're a reward for being the best you can be and making it like that makes it to damn easy. I rather have the Mercy card lock you out of flawless and let you keep playing till you get 7 wins. By doing it this way, only thing you have to worry about is wins and can ignore losses.

Everyone will just kill themselves to progressive bounty faster.

Edited by Entity: 2/24/2021 6:13:28 AMYeah no, if you can't reschedule flawless legit, no amount of games should "earn" a flawless run, thoigh I do find the idea interesting for the other rewards, plus idiots will fall off the map 40 times, they literally did it for just a three win reward 10 times
-
2 RepliesEdited by Sir Mittens: 2/22/2021 5:29:11 PMi agree with all except flawless reward because if people could just throw forty matches for all 4 rewards there is no incentive to actually playing trials making it how i see felwinters, if everyone has it no one has it. now what i suggest bungie do is either prevent players from going flawless multiple times after going flawless already or make a separate trials mode that opens after you go flawless preventing said players going back into the normal mode. i say this because it would reduce the amount of flawless carries and tryhards per weekend

2 RepliesEdited by Rain: 2/23/2021 10:10:45 AMSo people would get the same flawless rewards jumping off the map for 40 games as someone who sweats to get flawless? Lmao no. Rewards should be better for lower games sure, but your solution is pretty much asking for handouts.
-
6 RepliesAdept should not be rewarded for anything other than a 0 loss card. This is coming from a player who will never have a 0 loss card. I know it’s a tired argument but it’s the same thing as giving out raid gear for playlist strikes. One of the major problems plaguing D2 is its homogenised loot pool. Very few activities have their own unique loot pool. The hardest achievements in the game should have unique loot tied to it, and so should every other activity in the game. Otherwise we may as well go back to Y1 and Trials of the Nine.
-
5 RepliesThere’s no possible reward structure change that will ever convince me to try trials. I know I’d end up getting garbage rolls anyway and i wouldn’t deserve the loot after sucking or throwing in 10 or more games. As if I don’t humiliate myself already.

I dont mind a bounty for flawless gear BUT it should require like 30 wins generally. It should still be pretty fair. On another note, I really think this ticket nonsense as a whole needs to go and be replaced. Or at least the current model of the ticket. This 7-0 even with a mercy nonsense is kind of ridiculous for 90% of the playerbase in PvP's current state. How we just make it get 10 wins on a card before you get 3 losses and take away the Passage of Mercy? Boom more Lighthouses for everyone while still requiring the player to really sit down and focus but also have the experience be a little more enjoyable. Losing games wont feel as bad and more players will feel they actually have a chance and are being adequately rewarded. I dont want to take away from the prestige trials is supposed to bring but at the same time this gatekeeping bs needs to go before trials dies again.

1 ReplyI saw a idea from someone on Reddit, that on ONLY the mercy card it didn’t count losses. You’d still have to win 7 games but it wouldn’t count losses, so that way teams that only win one game sometimes, could still eventually get flawless. It might take them all weekend and a shit ton of games but eventually they would get there. The idea could be modified some, so maybe you don’t go flawless but just the 7 win reward. I like your bounty idea but the only problem is see is that a team could eventually go flawless from just matching ppl jumping off the map
-
All yes but the Tryhards will complain that people didn't earn their flawless gear. Plus depending on the rewards for the week you'll start seeing a lot more map jumping to end the matches quickly.
-
All yes accept for the flawless reward, that should remain behind a 0 loss card

Edited by RoninPhoenix650: 2/23/2021 4:50:54 AMOr just go with the old school world of Warcraft method. They are half way there with comp already. Tokens are used to buy the piece of gear you want from the vendor but what you have access to is gates behind your rating. Also, yes, I know that in a looter shooter it would require the item you bought to be randomly rolled. Maybe even go all the way with it and add a stat that lowers damage taken from other players and increases damage done to other players too. And vice versa for mobs. That way the sets have a purpose. Edit: to all those saying “but not the adept”. You’re missing a huge point. The entire idea of going flawless needs to be eliminated. It’s absurd that the end game pvp system incentivizes being able to roll over seven teams. That mean matchmaking has failed at least seven times and most likely in a row.

Flawless rewards should not be granted for anything but a flawless completion. I am all for giving the 5 and 7 win rewards to 20 and 30 matches completed though.
-
11 RepliesI feel Ike people are forgetting that the hc will be the 3 min weapon at some point, and that the difference between regular and adept weapons is a very small difference.
-
1 ReplyGood idea, but it would make flawless itself a bit pointless...
-
9 RepliesHighly disagree. You are asking for handouts. Get better and actually earn the rewards chumps
-
7 Repliesgood idea but adept gear should not be given to people who just jump off the map, gear for flawless is hard earned and it should remain that way
-
Edited by NYDIBS: 2/23/2021 3:45:45 AMBc it would make too much sense. Also, it would hurt the recovs which Bungie promotes since streamers would otherwise be irrelevant
-
I just don't feel enticed to play trials like I used to back in D1. As much as I'd love to get my hands on that Hand Cannon I just don't think anyone would trust a random returning player such as myself on their team.

3 RepliesEdited by Maxwell: 2/23/2021 12:44:24 AMI agree with everything except the flawless reward. You shouldn't get a flawless reward for not going flawless. That would be like running 10 normal nightfalls gives you the adept weapon from the grandmaster nightfall. Not a good idea. I absolutely agree with 3,5, and 7 win rewards being in bounties as well. I would tie the 7 win reward to 50 matches at least though if you count losses as one and wins as 2.5. They should definitely offer a participation ascendant shard though. That would help a lot of people out.
-
I'd be fine with that as long as just jumping off the map didn't count towards progress. You should have to win atleast 1 round per match which isn't to difficult seeing supers are a thing.
-
Agreed but no adepts.
-
Just keep the adept version behind flawless and the pvp tryhards wont be able to claim about not having exclusives.
-
2 RepliesLook what happens with just 1 bounties give a weapon. People jump off the map just to get it over ASAP. Could you imagine if this was the system?
-
1 ReplyLol, then they take quickdraw off of astral.
-
1 ReplyAgreed but if you want Adept you need flawless.
