Make it so you can turn Exotic Ciphers into Ascendant Shards
I have all the exotics so Ciphers serve no purpose and that one triumph I can't claim annoys me. Make it so you can dismantle or trade them to Xur for Shards. Might give me a reason to do his Cipher quest too

1 ReplyIt almost feels like Beyond light killed Destiny no one in my guild playing, anything solo that gives me upgrade materials is more than welcome. See no reason to do Xur quest to get sunsetted weapons.

Or just make it to where Master NF guarantee ascendant shards and Legend is "Uncommon". With how pricey it is to masterwork gear, they should at least make them a tad bit easier to obtain. You need 3 Ascendant shards just to masterwork an exotic.

One of the best ideas I've heard in a long time. I'm literally in the same position of not being able to use the Cipher. Being able to trade them in for Ascendant Shards would be a great option.

2 RepliesThis is a great idea. I'm not a hardcore player, I don't do endgame content. So its very rare for me to get ascendant shards. At the same time i have put enough time into the game to make ciphers useless to me. The one i have on me is from the beginning of the season. Sitting useless in my inventory. Let me turn it into shards so i can masterwork my gear

4 RepliesUnbalanced. Maybe into a prism, that would be ok. A shard is way harder to obtain than a cipher hence why it would be unbalanced.

1 ReplyI don’t remember exotics taking 3 shards to masterwork before Beyond Light. Maybe they did. But yeah since they do and I need the shards for master working Legendary gear too, I would appreciate being able to convert them into an ascended shard. Especially since Xur has a quest for one every week. It would give me a reason to visit Xur.

Yes! Please! You have to do tons of activities to obtain a cypher in the first place this would make obtaining masterworked armor easier for solo players.

Ive posted this manhy times.. i dont care if its shared or prisms etc.. but dont have something in the game that veterans and most others have no use for at all at this point. Stop catering to the new players and start caring about the older players.

3 RepliesYup. Should be supported. One should also be allowed to turn Ascendant Shards into Enchancement Prisms. And then Prisms down to Cores. Also every time you dismantle various currencies, the player should be able to see what the results will be (so that unwanted / lossy conversion could be aborted before it completes, or before it is initiated). (When I tried to dismantle one excess Ascendant Shard (stuck in postmaster, as inventory is rather limited, and can’t be vaulted), it just disappeared. At least my feed didn’t tell me that I would have received any Prisms or anything else from the dismantle.)
