I noticed there’s been lore about why Io, Titan, Mars, and Mercury are going away in Beyond Light but there’s been only silence as far as I know about Calus and the Leviathan. Enlighten me?
-
Simple, because we know Calus' Nhilistic agenda with the darkness. He believes the end is already here now and as such has nothing more to offer us but inner conflict with the rest of the City's Allies (no matter how open he is to being our friend, he is still a Cabal that will conquer those who don't follow him). In short he's just waiting for the dust to settle with him being the last, while we are trying our best to make that not happen.

He is going to pull a Han Solo and come in last minute and use the Leviathan to eat the Pyramids like giant space Doritos.
-
Calus is going to come back all Darkness’d out
-
I hope Bungie addresses this in the game. Either lore or cut scene would be great!
-
We can only assume a lore reason due to a lack of actual in game reasoning Calus is all for the end of existence, he's planning in throwing a massive party before everyone dies So naturally he's not gonna get in the way of that

1 ReplyCalus doesn't care about fighting the Darkness. He cares about being the last one standing after everything's destroyed.
-
To make space for new content duh
-
Hanging around nessus orbit gets old. Perhaps he wants to have a few cold ones with the boys in another solar system.
-
<Calus believes the Darkness to be unstoppable. As such, now that it's here, he'll sit back and watch. He wants to be the last one alive, and that means stepping out of the crossfire.>
-
Because Bungie can’t keep the lights on at their studios while also paying Calus for rental of the Leviathan
-
Calus and his troops are infected..so they are closing off leviathan to stop the spread. The leviathan is like a big mouth....
-
While there's been no official statement in-game fore the reason, it's likely that Calus doesn't want to get involved with the Darkness. He would rather watch how humanity tries to fight it in vain because it's not like he would fare any better even if he wasn't fascinated with the Darkness.
-
There’s no lore explanation yet, but most likely Calus will do something, perhaps moving the Leviathan or closing it off to us while he does something. With the arrival of the Pyramids it’s only natural that Calus will change his behavior.
-
Thing is. As far as we know, the Leviathan itself isn’t leaving Nessus’ orbit. It’s just that we won’t be able to access it. Personally I wouldn’t mind a lore reason being provided, but I don’t know if they will or not. Would be a shame if they didn’t.
