The grind isn't worth the reward in my opinion. Armor doesn't look that great to me.
-
With the multiplier definitely on all 3 characters

3 RepliesEdited by Chunk: 8/12/2020 3:28:18 PMDoes it give you Masterworked gear and the white glow or just the white glow this year, if you complete all the objectives?
-
I'll do it with my main. Don't have something else do in that game anyway. Guess I'll skip masterworking the boots. Got my 7 wins for the seal already but it was way to sweaty for my taste.
-
throw a movie on grab some friends runs the same class and you will practically be 90% done before the movie ends.
-
3 RepliesThere’s no point it’s the same crap for little fracking reward, It’s like buying an expansion or season and it’s just bloody gambit on planets, Bungie only cares about in coming money, and causing as much stress and hassle to the players, once they have money they don’t care, that’s why they have taken away 99% of the ways to contact them, It’s just not worth continuing any more.
-
Its honestly a good sign spending the majority of this year not touching this game. So many actual good games out there to play and support
-
3 RepliesMassive waste of time for some glowing armor that looks meh. Hard pass.
-
I just enjoy playing activities in the game I guess. Its not all about the "rewards".
-
2 RepliesI was gonna get the regular armor until I got the first set to purple and saw the second set of objectives. I said lol no and dismantled/infused it into armor I already have. Now I'm done with the game apart from doing the dungeon with my friend once a week. FFXIV released a story patch today that will be a much better use of my time than Solstice of Suckers. I'm not wasting a month on that grind, I'm not doing seven Trials wins, and I sure as hell am not spending $45 on glows. If Bungie wants me to spend my money on them, they need to start respecting my time.
-
3 RepliesNo I’ve quit and come back multiple times. Thought this would be cool. But I went through the list of what you have to do to complete the set. I only play matchmaking activities so I won’t be doing trials. The ones most excited for this will be the ones doing paid carries for trials. I’ll be sunsetting this game same day as the new expansion drops.
Topic body
Considering theres nothing else to do i decided to go for it. For the mmxx title mostly. That and i had just a bit over 6k bright dust for the ornaments. I never participated in the other solstices before. So tbf its "new" to me.

4 RepliesEdited by Jet2Holiday: 8/12/2020 1:02:07 PMDeleted my blue helmet. I am not playing the way Bungie wants. I won't be cannon fodder wearing blue armor just so that I can glow...
-
I have too much free time, but I’m just doing it on one character.
-
Fùck that grind fest, bungo can gth

1 ReplyI loved the look of last year's armour, and I even got the Arc glow for it. How funny that Bungie takes a fat dump on all the time I spent grinding for that armour when they came out with Armour 2.0 and locked the Solstice armour at 48 for stats. Seriously, was that a joke? Did they think that was really funny? Because I wasn't laughing. Now, they just expect the everyone to forget about that and do this happy, little grindfest? Nope. I left back in May, and I'm glad I did. At this point, just sticking around to support the posts that do point out Bunge's BS.
-
If you play solo there is zero point in attempting it unless you forget about the armour and just want packages. Trials is not matchmaking so it’s not possible. It should be replaced with IB ASAP.
-
7 RepliesLooking like pretty much a strong majority are just not going to do that grind all over again. Oh, and to get the ornament set, it's $15 per character. I don't even really know about the glows or whatever but, yeah, it's $15 per character class. So if you rock one of each, like most do, you'd have to spend $45 on JUST A SKIN for three characters. Yuh, no! How did Bungie, more specifically Luke Smith, look at this for a third year and say that it was acceptable? I honestly don't get it. Guarantee, they'll do it at the end of Beyond Light, too. They won't learn a damn thing. It hurts so much to see this game as an ever-growing lost cause. The potential is drowning at the bottom of this sinking ship that struck Iceberg Luke some time ago. It's just so frustrating to see what could be and have to have what is.
-
Yep, just made the decision to skip it. Was progressing the first set of armor and the game decided it didn't want to give me credit for completing adventures (Yes I was wearing the armor). I've decided to go play something else until the next step for interference releases for the new exotic.
-
Edited by Crota Prime: 8/12/2020 2:23:30 PMWell, there isn’t really a decent payoff. Bungie has made it EXTREMELY clear that they want us chasing the new armor tied to Beyond Light (when it drops) above all other previous armor sets.
-
Started it, realised it was the same shit as last year and just deleted the gear. Will do my usual destiny stuff, not interested in this event.
-
Never did it in the previous years, and quit playing the game before Solstice this year. So nah.... why bother to get something that is useless....
-
Didn't do last years, doubt I'll do this years.
-
I wanted to be excited for it since it's the first special event that's come up since I started playing again, but after seeing all the ridiculous requirements just to get a set of armor (I'm honestly probably never going to wear) I think I'm just going back to my other quests. ¯\_( ツ )_/¯ Hopefully one of these days they'll figure out how to make the event rewards feel worth the effort it takes to get them.
-
No why would I? A 2 week event for some dope armor ornaments Count me in
-
Topic body
I’m skipping Destiny all together. Have skipped it since the back half of Season of Dawn.
