I feel like I just deleted part of my Destiny 2 soul out of my Vault
I finally broke under the weight of my own efforts to maintain a connection to my history in this game, and deleted a number of weapons, including masterworked items that had ample kill counts, and it left me empty.
I know you are trying to freshen up the game (the re-issuing of weapons makes that weird), but why not just allow your long time players the honor of having orginals (and Pinnacle Weapons, for that matter) of your re-issues by not sunsetting them? This seems simply cold hearted, if you'll excuse the weapon pun.
Is this some sort of out with old, in with the new database migration or something??
Anyhoo, please stop being cruel to long time player / supporters, and help us feel good about where we've been and what we've done in-game.

I play a lot of fallout 76, I’ve had the same rifle for about 2 years now..a junkies faster fire rate handmade rifle..never touched any other arch type, bloodied,anti armour, vampires. The same with armour. Same old t-60 power armour. And eventually got bored. Destiny on the other hand is similar. Same old armour I like and same old weapons. But they do get stale after repeating the same stuff over and over and over..after a while it’s gets boring doing end game stuff..since all the good heavy weapons were nerfed, ie sleeper who wants to stand around and dump magazine after magazine into a boss..I don’t...hopefully when bungie forces us to abandon our get we’ve used they’ll bring in gear that actually gets stuff done fast and make our supers a actually supers against bosses..no wonder people find cheeses and short cuts. I do miss pushing atheon and the templer off the map with solar Nades.

You had fun with the guns for over 2 years. Are you seriously telling me you want to use the same weapon forever? Really? You want to ignore the looter shooter parts of the game? Really? Why are you playing at all then? You should have left 2 years ago. Go play CoD then.

4 Repliesmy vault is super full. like 492. i'm trying to curate stuff but i honestly don't plan on deleting most of my well rolled guns. Cause i'm likely gonna take a pause anyways and do other games and nongameing stuff anyways. I hate grinding for stuff. It's not my idea of fun. I pretty much won't grind for a weapon i already have a good roll on. I'm more into "shooters" than "looters" and i'm not into mmos at all. That's where this game is headed so we will see how things go. But i remember when they killed my fatebringer and tried to make me get imago loop. i never did. i hated every moment of repeating that hateful strike. they can do what they want. But i'm not interested in deleting some of my stuff. and i checked. 271 of my items more than half my vault is sunsetting in september. It's probably a good time for a pause anyways. I often don't play now cause it's basically an inventory management simulator.

3 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 7/2/2020 2:41:35 PMYeah, it sucks. Big time. Playing a game shouldn’t make you feel bad and Bungie is putting us in the position to feel like we wasted a LOT of time. I went through and deleted a lot of garbage I wasn’t using anyway, which left the rest of the guns I actually do care about or just like using. Most of those become useless at the end of this season. And to anyone saying you can still use these in lower level activities, patrol is probably the lowest level activity we’ve got and even that is susceptible to power level changes based on the seasonal activity. Right now you can run patrol and suddenly find yourself in a Contact event that is at the seasonal level soft cap. I’m not going to run around with lower level weapons just to have to change them at random playing in the most common areas of the game. I’m going to skip the frustration of loading the stupidly slow UI and equip only the highest level guns. Obviously. We’ll just have to see if the new guns they introduce are worth using, or if there are enough of them to even bother.

Let’s just hope the sun setting won’t be completely in vain. So far not so good with the mass amounts of re issued weapons from the past few years of the game, but hopefully in beyond light all but the exotics will be brand new weapons, new designs, new stats and perks. I’m not holding out the largest amount of hope, but there’s always still a little bit there.

I'm not at pinnacle cap yet. Most of my gear is in the 1040-1054 range. (Except for things I haven't infused up from 750 yet) If I dont hit pinnacle cap this season I can still use that gear for at least the first week or two of S12 while hitting and exceeding 1060 I'm not going to dismantle anything yet.

Why should bungie make you feel good when you’re still regrinding all the guns and armor they just took away from you. 😂😂😂. You’re basically passively complaining about assault but you’re still not resisting.

3 RepliesMy vault strategy: keep one of each weapon. If I get a better roll in the wild, it replaces my old one. Rare exceptions are my personal favorites like Old Fashioned or The Last Dance, where I’d keep a few different rolls to play around with. I had quite a fun collection - lots of variety. Not everything was outlaw/kill clip/meta. I enjoyed trying out different options and finding the best for me, not what others who stream or post on forums say is good. Case in point: one of my most used gun was a go figure with rangefinder and hip fire 😝 The fact that all this [i]stuff[/i] I’ve been meticulously collecting for years is now being rinsed away is one of the bigger reasons why I left this franchise. Destiny is not the same game anymore. I’m not building my legend, I’m just renting some stuff that Bungie dictates is the gear of the moment/seasonal theme/whatever.

1 ReplyWhy didn't Sunsetting just be this thing that affected the power level Cap on even older guns so one day you could pull out older weapons and begin leveling them up again? With the exception of pinnacle weapons though. Guns like Mountaintop absolutely need to die.
