Please have a Good Look at your HDR Settings for Xbox One and PS 4
The Title Says it all.
Every other HDR game (including Indie titles) looks great on my TCL Roku 4K HDR TV. Destiny 2 in HDR is abysmal. It's continually too dark or washed out in the dark areas. The non HDR actually has more detail in the Dark areas than HDR.
Also your HDR Controls (ie. Brightness) is a joke compared to what other game developers have for controls.

Edit 2: That should have been TCL Roku not TLC Roku..

1 ReplyI have the same TV and it looks worse for me on than when I turn HDR off. And that's still after changing my standard settings to fix the problem. I can't get the shadows to show any detail at all. If I could just toggle HDR off in game, I would. How this has not been patched, I do not know.

4 RepliesI have an LG OLED TV and overall the blacks are much darker than on a backlit LCD TV. I find HDR almost unusable (and a greater risk of image burn in). I went back to normal non-HDR for D2 and it seems to work better and much less risk of burn-in. For those of you who will start saying "you shouldn't use OLED for gaming", well, I've been using it for years now with no issue other than the short time I switched D2 to HDR. I re-calibrated the TV and all went back to normal. No issues since. After you use OLED, you won't go back to LCD.

HDR on PS4 got f-ucked a while back, and I have a nice Sony Triluminous. I just turn it off. Bungie will absolutely NEVER fix this because there's no money to be made from it.

2 RepliesIt was adjusted correctly until the last season and it went dark again. Is the engine taxed out? Do PC players experience the darkness? I cant even play on OLED. It too dark.

Set it to Normal temperature and it should look like every other HDR tv. I have the 55R618 I believe and it looks pretty much the same as my 65MU8000 Samsung tv.

2 RepliesIt's not the game itself it's the hdr settings on the tv I've noticed it with several games over the ps4 and xbox change your picture settings from standard or movie to possibly vivid or something with brighter colors you wont see as much darkness

Hdr used to work well in Vanilla D2. Now non hdr is far brighter and better for me while hdr is unplayable.

1 ReplyFor me is sometimes impossible to see anything when i enter some caves; the lost sectors entrances are the closest things to hell because you can not see anything

I recently got a Q900 and Division looks amazing, while D2 is really bright and oddly pastel... havent played around with it much

3 RepliesOn PS4 the game is absolutely beautiful on HDR until you are in a dark area. Then I can't see anything. I messed around with the settings to no end, both on my TV and in-game, for weeks. Finally gave up and went back to non-HDR, which fixed the darkness issue but of course reduced my resolution.

Hdr on the witcher 3 xbox1 enhanced edition is ten times more vibrant than destiny 2. It's like watching a DVD as opposed to a uhd 4k disc.

Yes, HDR for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro are terrible... Supposedly, there has been a "fix" in the works for several months now. No update from Bungie...
