Warlock base uncharged melee slower than others. Bungie haven't responded to original post so I'll keep making them.

Bungie fix this.

  • This. They fixed the range so all of them are even, so why are titans out-punching me as a hunter still even if I punch first. The whole thing about warlocks having better charged melees is bs. - Energy drain - Increases grenade recharge rate for 8 seconds. Definitely give you an upper hand in a slap-fight. - Top Solar Melee - The Born is nice, but useless in a slap-fight when everyone dies in 2 hits anyways. - Empowering - Why? No benefit in a slap fight. A decent melee for pvp, but doesn’t help when using it means you can get punched twice by a titan in the same amount of time. - Arc melees - the increased range is nice, but is the same thing as if a titan uses syntoceps. Even without that, the extra 2 steps titans have to make and still kill warlocks before their second hit is nothing. The only good melees warlocks have for PvP aside from Nova Warp Melee revolve around not getting into a slap-fight. Hunters may not have the charged melees that impact slap fights (except for disorienting blow which is really strong in a slap-fight) but the faster Melee speed helps at lest some of the time. Titans have slightly more, but they don’t need it simply due to the fact that they can at least trade with anyone they get into a slap-fight with. - this is coming from a filthy hunter main too

    • If they are not going to fix it, could we get insight as to why that is? The arguments I see against it are player speculation and theory crafting, and are open to discussion and personal interpretation of balance. I'd kind of like to see Bungie's insight as to why the Warlock melee is slower, assuming it wasn't just an oversight moving from D1 to D2

      • It is so annoying that is nearly impossible to win against a hunter or titan in a melee fight. The reaction is just terrible.

      • Disagree respectfully. No it’s not. The hit detection is better and so is the AOE. I’ve seen a warlock melee in front of them, and someone that was on the side of them and almost behind them died. Also wasn’t there a video back in the day that the base damage was more as well? Warlock are in a really good spot. There’s a bunch of major advantages, especially air combat and vantage points of being the eagle in the sky to see the majority of the map and positioning of where characters are.

        • Has more range than the others though, no? Except throwing knife I suppose, so really if you get your slap in at the right time and distance, they shouldn’t even be able to touch you.

          • Come on Cozmo be a bro, don't be like the Warlock melee & react too slow. It's base speed is slower than others we know so its time for this imbalance to go.
