Both games have their own playstyle and universe. I see nothing which would prevent me personally to main only on of those games. I can play both. Anthem for third person action with low ability cooldowns and Destiny to have a more valuable playstyle.
I don't speak for the majority but I will play both games regularly. What about you?

2 RepliesReally all the "this game is go ing to kill that game" stuff is ridiculous, but its fun getting people all twisted.
-
4 RepliesI don’t think it’s about playing this game or that game “mainly” I think it’s more about whether or not the developers are going to actually take from their entire player base and do things based off the majority rather than Bungie take of “catering to the smallest demographic of whiners rather than listen to your larger demographic of whiners. Bungie has earned the hate for 2. Bungie is going to need to earn some faith back from its non-fanboys if they hope for 3 to be successful and “stay successful”. Not just first month sales bragging rights followed by a year of complaints and mass departures and then another year where they begin by putting on display their disregard for their player input. Guess if you’re not a streamer or hardcore pvp/PvE player Bungie doesn’t care for your thoughts about their game. Which is cool. I just hope they don’t care about the money from those folks either.

2 RepliesIf the issues experienced during the paid Anthem Alpha Test this past weekend aren’t fixed by launch then Destiny has zero worries about losing players for an extended time period. If BioWare does get the game playing up to AAA standards then Destiny the franchise will be a memory. The potential is there for Anthem to 100% replace Destiny however my initial experience is that there’s a lot of fixing that needs to occur before that would ever happen.

1 ReplySmite>anthem>destiny>

5 RepliesI’m hoping Anthem will not be a 3.5-4 month fad like Monster Hunter World, then go back to playing Destiny 2 on a more regular, frequent basis. Gamers want that PvP competitive game type which anthem lacks for now to keep our interest.
-
Only if bungie steps their shit up.
-
11 RepliesI was interested in anthem because it was a bioware game but somehow lacks everything that make bioware games... bioware games.

1 ReplyLol get moved away kid

Time will tell on what happen, but there is one thing I know that is people tend to have expectations on games more so these days that they shouldn't especially kids and teens vs back in the day. If anyone has been just playing Destiny for the last 4 years it's going to be a little hard getting comfortable with a 3rd person shooter because a first person is all they know. The other thing is, no one can say what the game is actually like knowing the demo is only taste. Sure you get a feel for the weapons but as the in-game content goes like most games there is a lot more then what you see. I'm waiting for next week to try it out and even then I will wait for a while to get more info on it as time goes on because just because one person sees something their way? I know I have a different view of things. Ratings? they are joke these days to me knowing how some gave D2 base game a 9. whatever. It was a flop like CoO that caused 73% of the player base to drop off, even then the price was dropped 3 times. To make matters worse D2 base game is free with the first 2 expansion half off. So yeah, ratings mean diddly-squat theses days and that tells me the companies that test the games out don't really play the game and give have-a** reviews that only give half-truths.

Edited by Pahvi: 1/27/2019 7:18:47 PMsure, i'm not gonna play anthem, not interested, biggest reason is bc it's 3rd person. and gives me warframe vibes, you know, those maximum thigh robotsuit ninjas, -blam!- they look stupid. i just like 1st person shooters, 3rd person is fine for melee etc, rpgs, without shooting, even witcher3's crossbow annoyed me a lil' bit, lols. edit: have to add re2 remake to this, has a great atmosohere, but that camera angle, i hate it so much, amplified in re, bc you're constantly looking for items, and your character is blocking the view, have to rotate the camera just to see what's front of you, annoying asf... why it can't have that re7 first person camera, i'd probably love it then, though i'm so done with zombies it's also too scripted, e.g. killed everything in that demo's *first action corridor" area, boarded the window, explored every corner, and still in that cutscene, there was a zombie grabbing them ankles, scripted, why not add a second cutscene you just crawling under if you killed everything, bc where tf that came from, ugh... point: can't be the only one who hates 3rd person shooting.

I love the amount of customization. Everything except the ultimate can be switched out for different abilities that fit that javelins play style. Hopefully they’ll have different ultimates down the line. If Warframe and Destiny can coexist then Anthem and Destiny will 100% coexist.
-
2 RepliesDont have time to play both and since I’ve got over 5000 hours in destiny i will be playing anthem. Ya know, new hotness vs old and busted? Im going with new hotness.
-
9 RepliesYeah... Anthem has a giant problem... When asked if Anthem will have raids they basically said.... we are working on something post release. :x Its seems like the post game for Anthem will be really shallow on release. Thats a no-no in my book. Maybe its because I have been spoiled by FFXIV with their expansion releases but I expect a robust end game to keep my attention. I will see if Division 2 might be better on its post game... maybe.

2 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 1/27/2019 12:13:08 AMThey are different. Anthem is setting up to appeal to those who want a deeper RPG experience than Destiny provides. While Destiny is for those who want a game that sticks close to its FPS roots. But you really haven’t played Anthem until you’ve played the other javelins besides the Ranger. I feel the Ranger is the easiest to play, but the least capable of the four. I was getting worried until the server problems started improving today.... but when I finally unlocked the Storm javelin it finally came together. It was “Now THIS is what I was hoping this game would be!!” With a grin big enough for the top of my head to fall off.

1 ReplyI was pretty intrigued by anthem. Now have an uneasy feeling about that game. To me it looks like it will lack content, get repetitive fast, and have a hellacious grind. And I would bet every dollar I own that the “no lootbox” thing is total bs. It will be just like every other game. No micro transactions for the first week or two. Wait until the reviews are out, get all the hype sales. Then it begins.

7 RepliesThe stronghold boss is pretty boring.
-
Well I stopped playing Destiny a while ago.
-
From what I played Anthem is phenomenal, but I won't be giving up on D2 because my clan is still playing it
-
10 RepliesFrom what I've seen and heard about anthem, I'm kinda meh😒. Doesn't appeal to me at all.
-
I like what I've played of anthem so far, lvl 15 and done story and stronghold a few times. Also unlocked storm which I don't mind. Few things im unsure of, freeplay is very barren hopefully open world is more populated in full version. The loot pickup I can understand that you get them at end of mission not taking people out Of The action. It would be nice for it to show up what it is tho, blue weapon, or blue MOD etc. The other thing with loot is I don't like the Idea that strongholds don't have specific loot. I really think that's a bad idea. Takes away that prestige of getting a certain drop. Imo.

Anthem looks boring as hell
-
2 RepliesI agree , anthem to me is more akin with Mass Effect which is awesome .
-
3 RepliesI've read this article about fans wanting anthem to be like destiny 2 but it seems odd tho but heres the link. https://screenrant.com/bioware-anthem-destiny-players-update/
-
The game is ass
-
I will play both. They are totally different games. Other than the server issues I have enjoyed the Anthem gameplay so far.

Everybody knows that
