Yeah something here is seriously broken, these exploiters keep on showing everyone how stupidly broken this game is and bungie still has not fixed it.
The way the light leveling should work is this:
Play any activity, that activity awards legendary gear, every time you recieve a piece of legendary gear, your light level increases by 1 light regardless of what you do with the legendary piece of gear.
You could equip the piece of gear, delete it, i don’t care. The point here is that you are awarded for playing the game.
How to prevent farming? So obviously there would be problems if i could attach a robot to my controller and farm an ai spawnpoint.
So what you do is make it so that legendary gear can only drop from actual activities like strikes, crucible matches,
Public events and so on, legendaries should never ever drop from an add and neither should exotics, the random drop stupidity is why we had the prime engram farming glitch.
The player should be able to go and do any activity and level up, as long as they are actually playing the game and completing activities, they should be rewarded, not the participation trophies we are witnessing today.
An exotic drop should award 3 light levels and legendaries should award 1 light level. Doesn’t matter what you do with items once they drop, equip, delete, doesn’t matter, you gain light every legendary or exotic drop.
Now obviously at a certain point for the lower light players that are only getting whites, greens and blues, there would be a similar structure in place, for instance, for any player under 100 light, whites level up by 1
For any players under 200, greens level up by 1... and for players under 300, blues level up by 1.
There would be a structure that dictates that once you hit the soft cap, let’s say 400, only legendary and exotic drops increases your light.
Bounties should NEVER award legendary or exotic gear, because obviously it can be exploited.
All bounties should ever award is mats and money (glimmer, shards, etc)
And if a bounty isn’t handed in before reset, it will automatically be cashed in for you, preventing players from exploiting bounties by saving them.
Thoughts?

4 RepliesYou see this guy, Bungie? He's the type of player you should never listen to.

4 RepliesI don’t think holding onto bounties is an exploit. If we couldn’t hold on to them what is their real value. Speaking from the standpoint that I have stacks of planetary material vaulted. I have a Clanmate that has easily three times that vaulted. There is no reason to turn them in at this point. Without an overhaul to the loot pool in general, no reason for materials. I think maybe instead of making them even more pointless they should be adjusted. Like maybe rewarding us on a planetary basis, based on the amount of bounties per planet. Let Sloan give me a legendary or powerful drop after every *50 bounties. Let the ranking and packages accumulate like they do for Vazaza. Also as a PvE main, the Clan bounties are a joke. I most definitely hold every single Clan bounty after 5000 points. I will not be forced to play Crucible just to contribute to my Clan, as a very active player/member this is ridiculous.

2 RepliesI'd like to know how to LL exploit...I'm at 587 with no reason to jump on because I can't do the forge, and rralllllllyyyyy don't feel like grinding for a few more weeks just to find out it's the same set up as Osiris. If I could exploit, I'd at least be able to find out if I'm wasting precious time away from RDR2 a bit faster.

1 ReplyI don’t see the problem, there was nothing stopping you doing the same. Anyone smart enough would have competed bounties etc weeks in advance to make the light increase quicker.
-
Nah it’s fine as it is! I should of held on to some of my bounties 😐
-
Hell no. It's fine as is. Gotta actually earn levels and stop asking for free handouts
-
how about no.

Personally I think it's just lazy design that lets people hold onto powerful rewards. The easy solution is that they just make all bounties and quests auto complete at reset each day/week - no more hoarding. Given we didn't officially know there was going to be a light level increase until very soon before the release, it means most people didn't even know they could prepare for this so yeah, pretty poop all round

2 RepliesEasier fix. Every season start, all bounties from previous season go "void and null". Use 'em or lose 'em Ladies!

1 ReplyHonestly? My exotic exploit is better. Week 3 of dreaming city. The shattered thrown. The thrall hallway ive acquired a stupid amount of exotics by just deadfall opheus rig and grenades in that hall. Its endless. It gives you a ton of primes because the thralls are always spawning. And ive acquired about 5+ exotics in about 3 hours of the farm? I'll be doing it again when its back :)

2 RepliesI never really understood the need for levels and power to be separate, I would of just had a power increase curve with set XP milestones or something, I'd also like to be able to display power instead of level near my name and others so it's instantly noticeable. Doing this would also mean you can use and wear what you like.
