I won’t speak for anyone else, just myself.
I understand that this update was meant to drip feed content for months.
Yes, I can read.
Yes, I understood that there would be no campaign.
But, I didn’t realize that I would download the content and have absolutely nothing new to do on day 1.
I honestly don’t believe that ANYONE expected to pay and download and then head directly back into the blind -blam!-ing well to do the same old shit they’ve been doing for months.
Whether you’re cool with waiting or not, I honestly thought EVERYONE would agree that something exciting should have happened on day 1. But I guess not???
Even after Osiris I was excited to jump into Warmind to get new weapons and armor. But this... this has been the most anti-climactic dlc release ever. If a Zero excitement, wait-and-see approach is the future of dlc, I think I’ll find a new hobby.
But, please, if you support this model, tell me why. Because this is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a video game, and I’ve played Superman 64.
*edit: I appreciate most of the comments. I really wanted to understand how people weren’t disappointed. I can’t say I agree, but at least I understand a little bit better.
To me, day 1 of any dlc should be exciting, and this one provided zero excitement. Seems like people who expected nothing on day 1 got what they paid for. I love the excitement of new content, so this model will never be okay with me.
To the people who said I couldn’t read or I’m a deadbeat for being sad about $35... I’m sorry you missed the point, but thanks for the bumps. Much appreciated.

Don’t bother complaining here I agree D2 has just been a train wreck to up and down but they only listen on Twitter not on these forums.

3 RepliesTo all the people defending Bungie by letting us know that they specifically stated the annual pass will have “end game content” . You can increase your power level +50 WITHOUT the annual pass. As it stands right now you have ZERO reasons to purchase or play the annual pass since the only activity in it requires you to grind the same things you would grind if you didn’t have the annual pass. Most of us wont’t be able to reignite a forge in three weeks time since they replace each forge with another more powerful one every week. That being said we are going to do the same milestones we were doing the last three months for another two - three weeks just so we can start playing what we purchased three weeks ago. If you fail to realise what kind of lame strategy this is then i feel sorry for you. As for the others, multiple friends of mine got a refund and you can get one as long as it is your first time asking for one. Go get your money back, get your power up to 625 and re-evaluate if you want to buy the annual pass after three weeks.

I did everything there was to do on my hunter, that was before they nerfed difficulty by five power levels....

7 RepliesWhy don't you have anything to do on day 1? You are either so bad that (a) you haven't hit 600 light after months of opportunity or (b) you're incapable of pressing buttons well enough to kill virtual monsters Really, anyone who is whining about "not being able to do the content" is just bad.

My response to all those idiots is what about April update and age of triumph? If they want to play the oh it’s only $10 not $35. Okay yeah and the d1 April updates were free so what do they have to say about that? Both of those updates had more content than this “$10” dlc. And don’t forget those updates came WITH taken king and rise of iron. Not an additional $35 on top of the $40 forsaken price tag to have a drip feed.

Edited by AMC_07: 12/6/2018 2:30:07 AMPersonally, I think Bungie screwed up by setting the light level too high for the Forge. It should be at 600-605. Something you can hit after one day of grinding. This mode should be challenging, but not because it’s at a higher light level. The difficulty should be from the mechanics and the amount of enemies. If it is a horde mode, bring on the horde. If it has unique mechanics, make it necessary to coordinate with other players. Do NOT just buff up the power level to make our guns pea shooters. However I do think that they are releasing the content on a good schedule. Besides, Black Armory is increasing what we can do for the endgame and not replace the endgame. It’s good that we can still grind other activities to get more powerful. The increase of end game options shouldn’t be overlooked. In fact, I am not too upset that about needing to grind for it from 600 as I still have other activities that are meaningful to play. But even though I don’t mind, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t prefer to play it as soon as I hit 600-605. Take everything I have mentioned with a grain of salt. I got Forsaken when the past DLCs were included in Forsaken. I’m still at 550 and working on the grind. All of my points are based off of what I have seen for the Forge from other sources and from what Bungie has shown us themselves as well.

1 ReplyHello ever since launch I’ve hated the game until reading a post that the Black Armory was an endgame based DLC I didn’t know this bc I have been playing other games in the down Tim of D2 got tired of running gambit and crucible over... and over... and over now knowing this will make me less frustrated with the first forge power level

4 RepliesThere are a few reasons I'm fine with it. Reason #1: It's only $10. Reason #2: I like doing old content as long as there's an incentive. Reason #3: I haven't played enough of it to judge it yet.

6 RepliesEdited by deltorakid2: 12/6/2018 12:30:20 AMDon't worry. They already nerfed it because of babies like you

1 ReplyBecause we got exactly what was promised to us. Gotta read the fine print.

4 RepliesIll admit I was very salty about the Black Armory on release. I’m eating crow now though because I’m now sitting at 610 with still three more powerful drops to get today. I was wrong. Sure I had to grind the same stuff that I had been since September but as annoying as it was I would have likely played most of those things anyway had the Black Armory not been released. So I jumped the gun on my bitching about the content. It turns out, as endgame content, it is still very accessible by the first week.

Dear Player, We hear you. You are upset at how ghost shell damage alters the Crucible Sandbox. Based on your feedback, we will be nerfing auto rifle damage so that it is consistent with relic iron damage. Thank you for playing. -Bungie

1 ReplyI'm not mad. I wasn't planning to pay anything after forsaken anyway. 1 year of life left, no thanks

I personally just dont want to make any judgements until more content drops, im indifferent.

Lack Armory: The drip-fed grindfest the fanboys were craving. Their wet dream, came true...
-
This is worse than curse of osiris. This sucks at its highest level. Bungie fails across the board at these releases and its getting old. HOW DO YOU LAUNCH AN EXPANSION WITH NO NEW CONTENT. Bungie you suck so hard its not even funny. DROP FORGE TO 600 LIGHT ACROSS THE BOARD NOW AND FIX YOUR G#% F%^*ING D&MN MISTAKE ONCE AGAIN IMMEDIATELY.
-
The reason why i can defend Black Armory? Is really simple and it wont take much time out of your day to explain. For me its something to work towards, another challenge to accepted down the road. I prefer to stop and smell the roses, main reason why i still love Destiny.

2 RepliesEdited by cdibie: 12/5/2018 11:44:04 PMMan the fanboys are a cancer to a community trying to make this game and franchise better. I'm soo sick of them. We gave bungie props for a good dlc in forsaken. It was good and refreshing. Objectivity is essential and these fanboys do not have it
-
They nerfed it for you
-
2 RepliesI agree launch wasn’t well planned due to the forge light level but I think the new model is a good model in the grand scheme of things because personally with school and the rate content drops I will have just enough time to do my grinding for the week and do the new stuff so it works very well I imagine this is similar for people with jobs.
-
1 ReplyWho is this directed at exactly? Can’t see anyone defending it on here, hence the speedy response from Bungie. We all agree they dropped the ball here at launch
-
Yeah I kinda expected there to be something more than trying to level up for a hard public event
-
They just fixed it check the news

5 RepliesI will speak for myself.. I realized what end game means.. if we had new end game activity, I expedted grind and grind on current or if you will, previous released info. To defend it is easy To keep the game activities relevant, you need to make it difficult to begin with, and not super easy at power cap. to do that you have to place the activities in the middle or top end of the power cap so that the struggle is the journey to the power cap and yet is still somewhat engageing at power cap. Sure, day one most struggle, anything under 600 has zero chance. play a bit power lever up and you have a decent chance at defeating the first wave and opening up the boutnies. with 2 others I was 600 they were 600 and 602 we nearly defeated the first wave.. That tells me we were close and we are under level. a bit of actual investment to the grind in activities I play already and enjoy, will put me over the hump and voila, success and access to more content. Anyone not at power cap of 600 really hasn't played forsaken enough to have experienced it.. especially those complaining who sit at 530-550.. they are barely raid ready for Last Wish let alone anything after that with a higher end game.

They changed it, happy?
