I won’t speak for anyone else, just myself.
I understand that this update was meant to drip feed content for months.
Yes, I can read.
Yes, I understood that there would be no campaign.
But, I didn’t realize that I would download the content and have absolutely nothing new to do on day 1.
I honestly don’t believe that ANYONE expected to pay and download and then head directly back into the blind -blam!-ing well to do the same old shit they’ve been doing for months.
Whether you’re cool with waiting or not, I honestly thought EVERYONE would agree that something exciting should have happened on day 1. But I guess not???
Even after Osiris I was excited to jump into Warmind to get new weapons and armor. But this... this has been the most anti-climactic dlc release ever. If a Zero excitement, wait-and-see approach is the future of dlc, I think I’ll find a new hobby.
But, please, if you support this model, tell me why. Because this is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a video game, and I’ve played Superman 64.
*edit: I appreciate most of the comments. I really wanted to understand how people weren’t disappointed. I can’t say I agree, but at least I understand a little bit better.
To me, day 1 of any dlc should be exciting, and this one provided zero excitement. Seems like people who expected nothing on day 1 got what they paid for. I love the excitement of new content, so this model will never be okay with me.
To the people who said I couldn’t read or I’m a deadbeat for being sad about $35... I’m sorry you missed the point, but thanks for the bumps. Much appreciated.

20 RepliesDid you try E.T. 1982? More seriously, I cannot and will not defend the choice by Bungie to put 600 players up against 620 ads and a 630 boss. That was a disastrous decision. However, I am hoping that players can be open-minded about what Black Armory offers, rather than associate it solely with the problem with the power gradient. It's undoubtedly got some good stuff to offer.

Get good scrub

I can tell you why i support this model, Bunjie have made it obvious that they are unable produce a big expansion and 2 dlc every year. In Destiny 1 we had taken king and then we had nothing, we had rise of iron and then we had nothing. I would play the game and have no nothing to grind for. I would rather pay £35 a year to have things to do than have nothing. They said it is not like any dlc they have released before and they was open about it. I like what they have done because its better than having nothing.
-
7 RepliesYes. I paid for new stuff to do and I have to do the same old stuff
-
1 ReplyHere's a question for all of you. Did Bungie say what the new light level cap was before black armory dropped and say what would the new level be. Cause I didn't know they would increase the level but I had a feeling.
-
2 RepliesI thought starting the quest and meeting Ada-1 was cool enough for day 1. Has me excited to see all the new stuff over the coming weeks. I really don't see why everyone has their panties in a bunch over this.
-
Grinding to 615 is a pain, yes. After you reach it? Forge is easy. Just ran with 2 others at 615 and we cleared it easily first try.
-
9 RepliesThere will always be day 1 complainers. On the flipside, there will be players who take up the challenge and finish it day 1. Plenty of players, including myself, have managed to beat the forge on day 1. Its not impossible. I welcome the challenge.
-
7 RepliesMeh. Had fun. Managed to beat the forge. Got the lmg. Spent a good night laughing with friends.
-
... and I’ve played Superman 64.
... that was a baaaad game. And I agree with you btw, totally.
-
1 ReplyI was looking at some gameplay for the new horde mode. Doesn’t seem like the new weapons are all that impressive. They seem to just look cool and that’s it.
-
Total cost is what $170 now and after all this bs with this game yall are still letting bungie nickel and dime you for 1 “good” dlc over 3 years😂😂
-
1 ReplyDid I expect a whole bunch of stuff no of course not I did expect to be able to complete the first forge I'd understand the next forges being of Sig ificant higher power requirements but the very first one asking you to be 610 when the boss is 635 yet your "powerful" drops are 603 it's a bit insulting. Now if they had idk simply raised the power cap last week so we'd start getting more powerful gear less people would be bitching about this.
-
4 RepliesI gave this pos game another chance and I might be done with already...didn't take long. 5 games of crucible did me in.. Can't wait for Anthem.
-
4 RepliesAt this point if you are still giving Bungie money then you only have yourself to blame. Take your money and spend it on a good game.
-
So, you mean black armory, no no no you mean lack armory!!!
-
Would be cool to have some sort of small campaign to expand on the story some, maybe 3 or 4 new missions that awarded powerful gear at the end of each one, then introduce the forge... That way we get some new story content, get some new powerful gear, and get to experience some new missions other than playing the same adventures/strikes ect... with no meaningful rewards.
-
6 RepliesThis game is dead. Just move on. I have.
-
6 RepliesAt least the weapons on display in the Lack Farmery are on display in cases and not canvas bags. Yeah, you know.
-
28 RepliesDoesn't bother me in the utter slightest. There are the pinacle quests and other odds and ends to work on while doing powerfuls...forge isn't going anywhere and will be something to work towards being able to do 👍 It's hardly a big deal....
-
Agreed!
-
Oh, spare me the complaints, at least they acknowledge their mistakes and lowered the power for the forges by 5. Not a big move, but a response nonetheless.
-
Meh, i just wanted the raid
-
I just got back from playing rdr online so honestly I could care less
-
I dunno I’ll be kind of happy to have something to look forward too each reset
-
Don’t bother complaining here I agree D2 has just been a train wreck to up and down but they only listen on Twitter not on these forums.
