Bungie gave a (wet) blanket response to people saying that Infusion is too much with MC cores.
Im para-phrasing here so forgive any inaccuracies, "Infusion and Masterworking items should be a meaningful choice"
I get that masterworking an item should be something you dont do willy-nilly. BUT WHY INFUSION??!?!?
Why should i be essentially forced to wear ugly, cluster-f*ck, armor that happens to be my highest light level? I think the need for planetary materials is plenty to dissuade from mindless infusion.
I get that infusion is easy when infusing into the same item. thats great for year 2 gear that still drops. But almost all of my favorite gear is year 1. It will never drop as powerful.
So until i get to 600 Power Score, (witch should apperently take a long a$$ time), im stuck with cluster-f*ck gear i dont like, or waste some of the meagre amount of cores i have to bring something up to par. Only to have my next f*cking powerful item drop in that slot.
My suggested fix?
- Dont require Masterwork Cores to infuse.
- Spider doesnt sell Planetary Materials anymore, just cores, and shards. (That way you cant just run to him and hold "E/Square/X" to get 100 blank materials, you actually have to farm them from the relevent planet. Time consuming, but perfectly resonable IMO.)
for those of you that say this would be too easy, i propose a compromise:
-Dont require Masterwork Cores to infuse ARMOR, but still need them for weapons.

10 RepliesHaven’t found it too challenging with master cores, I had a whole vault of year 1 stuff I broke down and received plenty of master cores. I’ve been super careful to hang before infusing . I think reducing the amount of cores needed for infusion would be a good start .
