I wish you could just freely explore the infinite forest to make up for mercury being so small. I originally got the impression you could freely explore the infinite forest. Seriously imagine the potential they could add in the infinite forest. More public events, mazes to figure out, mini bosses that open gateways etc etc.
Who else agrees?
Loving the feedback from everyone and other players ideas

But there’s nothing to really explore. It’s made up of only a few repeated structures till you get to the main environments and even then, the play areas are not that big

With all the Bungie "hype" over the infinite forest I thought it was going to be a cool, ever changing patrol zone. Silly me. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

1 ReplyEdited by Eqitx: 12/14/2017 6:32:50 PMNot gonna happen sorry. It would require weeks of development. Dlc 2 new scam will be out soon , we will forget how mercury is small and pointless once more fools will join new content

This is a great idea that would make the DLC more worthwhile but that’s precisely why Bungie won’t do it.
-
2 RepliesObviously everyone wants that. Idiotic post.

They made it sound like you could. Infinite my ass.

I thought it was going to be roguelike since its randomly generated. Like the subway in The Division. High risk high reward. Like you chose how dificult and how long you want the run to be and then you go in if you die you have to start over ... If you win you get loot ... But instead its just a place that you run through without even fighting ...

Edited by Backlum Chaam: 12/14/2017 11:41:45 PMI'm sure making the environment change every time you go in is a massive feat. However-cus it's only the position of things moving-as opposed to the aesthetics-it all just looks the same. Not what I expected-I'm very bored of it already n it's just irritating having to run through it all the time. Very disappointed. I did have an issue not being able to freely explore it n only being able to access via a strike or adventure. Not anymore. Edit. The problem with having an area that can "simulate any scenario-past, present n future" is that it opens it up to an infinite number of possibilities. We think of all the cool n amazing scenarios we cud be shooting n exploring-we end up with a corridor that moves a few boxes around n a couple of locations. It seems too big an idea to be pulled off? At the moment anyway.

Freely exploring the Infinite Forest was what I expected.

Nope the -blam!-ed it. Just watching their posturing and bullshit ass lies

It would make for a fantastic patrol space.

Edited by Starstriker7: 12/14/2017 11:06:10 PMHopefully, Bungie sees this and can draw from the creativity of its community. I was hoping that the instances would change the setting each time. So one you’d be on the moon fighting Cabal and the next you’d be fighting Vex in the Dreadnaught, etc. Going in and out of different settings seamlessly is very appealing to me. One step and you cross from Titan to Venus or any number of other combinations. That’s just one potential point I saw in a sea of endless possibilities.

4 RepliesEdited by xSinicle: 12/14/2017 10:45:00 PMI had the impression you could do that since the gate appears open. I never actually tried to enter it outside of adventures. I also figured you could explore mercury entirely as in the public event areas as accessable as well as past and future versions. If someone were to say that makes no sense as to why thered be patrols in the past or future then it you can also say it makes no sense that you get gear and glimmer in a simmulation yet they still allowed it.
-
I was under that impression also. I don’t care much for what others think about the dlc because this is my only and biggest disappointment about it.
-
Yep agree
-
I just wish it led to different spires that took you too arenas like Past Mercury or Dark Future Mercury, with a better POE mode with bosses. Eventually they could add new spires/maps like Dark Future Mars, Past Venus, or even a Dark Future VOG for nostalgia.

This was what i thought it was gonna be based on the streams i think they could implement it like a lost sector but ever changing

3 RepliesEdited by NAX PRIME: 12/14/2017 10:04:36 PMAll I want is an entire map devoted to past Mercury, as it is the most beautiful place I have been to in Destiny, do you realize just how restricted you are when you first venture back to past Mercury. there is an invisible wall less than 20 meters around you in all directions. It sucks when you discover this. I love to just sit down in the grass and let the breeze blow through and watch the grassland blow like waves across an ocean. I love past Mercury and they should have a more interesting villain than Panoptes who can get the blame for screwing up Mercury! Now that's a bad guy worth my time to kill! SAVE PAST MERCURY!!! Please Bungie make Destiny 2 expansion 3 : Past Mercury
-
Just imagine walking into the infinite forest and you have two paths to choose from. Left leading to past mercury and right leading to future mercury. No matter what side you choose they will have their own challenges to open the gateways and mini bosses at the end. The gateways will be on a cool down timer so after a bit the gateways close again which means any guardian proceeding to go through the infinite forest will have to open them up again. Now imagine when you finally get to past or future mercury there's a whole new patrol area with public events and new vendors for past and future gear.
-
Past mercury is the most calmest place to visit in the whole game. I just wish it was endless...
-
I agree

This is a major failure on Bungies part. Instead of making it the same lame adventures, story missions and strikes. We should have gotten complete access to patrol the forest. Being able to go back and forward in time would have led to some really great story and lore moments. Instead we got a half assed attempt with massively over used missions
-
Wait what? You can't? I didn't even bother trying because there didnl't seem much to do there.
-
Have it like an open area like edz,io,etc... then let portals take you to powerfull yellow bar/bosses that drop high end loot but make them challenging. Each portal in infinite forest takes you to another simulation area where at the end there’s a epic encounter then a portal to bring you back
-
I agree
