I wish you could just freely explore the infinite forest to make up for mercury being so small. I originally got the impression you could freely explore the infinite forest. Seriously imagine the potential they could add in the infinite forest. More public events, mazes to figure out, mini bosses that open gateways etc etc.
Who else agrees?
Loving the feedback from everyone and other players ideas

Absolutely would love to have access to the forest outside of missions for sure! Strikes that aren’t just rehashed missions are nice too.
-
If you can see it, You still can't go there...

1 ReplySounds like fun.... no fun allowed!

1 ReplyEdited by Joker_Karasu: 12/15/2017 1:23:21 PMIt should have been Destiny 2’s prison of elders but with changing enemies and floor maps for each section, a past or future transition followed by a boss of literally any type. It could have specific loot with Osiris being the vendor, it’s own exotics and something worth grinding. Relegating the infinite forest to a couple story missions is dumb and completely missed opportunity.

2 RepliesThey should have had past, present, and future mercury all as different patrol areas for mercury that you have to go through the infinite forest to travel between. Each area could have had various public events/patrols.
-
Had a chance for a horde mode tbh
-
Allow us to patrol the past present and future time of mercury. So that about 3 public event 3 adventures, 1 world quest. This is for each timeline that mean 9 public events 9 new adventures and 3 world quests. There’s a lot that can be done with mercury
-
Just make a infinite path to nothing end game longer you go the better the loot less Damon’s

3 RepliesThey need to do something with that glorified bridge.

Well, see, a new explorable area in a $20 DLC shouldn't be the size of the Reef social space from D1. And according to some reports they basically didn't even start making the DLC until after D2 launched. How the hell do you plan DLC content then give inadequate time/resources to make it? With everything they stripped away it is almost inconceivable that they made such a piss poor map and again a Dark Below fiasco with barely any content. Playing the game is fun for the most part but there's just no real reason to play. My friends are the only thing keeping me on the game any more.

I got a pretty decent idea with Bungie remastering the old raids and you can simulate them through the forest, I think it would be really awesome to see this. 1 Thing is that the Curse Of Osiris DLC Is kinda short and I think this would add some huge possibilities

Edited by Lord0fDozier: 12/15/2017 2:30:09 PMIt's the same exact thing with the Dark Forest in the EDZ. I bet I wasn't the only one who saw that area on the patrol map when first playing and was super excited to explore it. What kind of secrets will there be? Something like the Dreadnaught activities? Will the Darkness make some sort of easter egg appearance? Nope. Just an unused, garbage area for 3 reskinned story missions. Ridiculous. That takes a big part of the patrol area up when looking at the map and it's completely useless! Of course...the Infinite Forest had all the workings for untapped potential and re playability and it's absolute garbage as well. Only can be accessed through story missions again? Are you -blam!-ing kidding me, Bungie? It's just absolutely mind boggling to me. A company that likes to keep it's player base on a hamster wheel has an easy layup in front of them and they completely whiff...a true ranked horde mode that tracks stats and offers a competitive outlet for the PVE community would have been huge. It's right there, Bungo.

Oh you mean the interactive loading screen?
-
2 RepliesIt’s a premium feature. Next update there will be a vex at the door charging an admission fee.
-
I don't care because the forest is just more randomness that works towards nothing. It's just useless filler to add to an already super short dlc.
-
There would have to be a limit
-
Y’all still on this forum begging for a better game? 😂

The infinite Forrest only changes the order the platforms appear every time you go in, and they are the same platforms every single time while the inside of each tree you really can't just go wherever you want even though it seems that way. So to really put public events in the infinite Forrest they would have to add more depth to it, like more changing platforms that are larger to fit public events and actual maps of it all.

No, the whole thing is pretty boring. Im not sure what they were thinking when they decided to make this. Probably trying to copy warframe as theirs is similar but far far better. They completely failed in the design of it and in the little amount to do whilst there which most you can avoid anyway. I also dislike the walkthrough the triangular corridor before and after too. God I just want to get on my sparrow.
-
Can I just point out the obvious (bit of a damper for this request). The infinite forest is a series of really boring paths that just lead you to whatever adventure you're doing. There's nothing to actually explore without Bungie first opening up the Adventure Zones as free roaming patrol areas with new ad spawns and the removal of the adventure elements. If you actually remember the adventure zones then you already know they looked great but, ultimately were just small areas with misleading skyboxes making them seem vast. Not sure what you'll actually be exploring before getting very bored.
-
By infinite forest, do you mean the shitty rearranging hallway? Or the somewhat more interesting bits at the end of the shitty rearranging hallway? There's really not a whole heckuva lot in there too begin with...
-
The space is a wasted opportunity. It had a lot of potential to be fun and interesting, but instead it’s a long, boring loading screen for whatever adventure you’re playing.
-
No. The IF is just a drag. 1/3 of all content from CoO is just running through it.
-
It would be cool if you could explore past/present/future from patrol there, and to make things interesting timed random tiles generation so you could potentially get stuck there for hours. Even better, each tile should have several gates so you could explore different variations and trigger special event tiles with extra bosses and specific loot.
-
I figured it'd be something along the lines of Diablo or Division's Underground DLC while playing through it. I was wrong though. That woulda been too nice.

With how they were going about the infinite forest on the streams I genuinely thought that it was some like infinite horde mode dungeon that gets harder as you progress. Not just a bloody bridge that some times goes left or sometimes go right.
