I wish you could just freely explore the infinite forest to make up for mercury being so small. I originally got the impression you could freely explore the infinite forest. Seriously imagine the potential they could add in the infinite forest. More public events, mazes to figure out, mini bosses that open gateways etc etc.
Who else agrees?
Loving the feedback from everyone and other players ideas

YES! I don’t know why Bungie didn’t do this, before CoO went live I expected it to be an open area considering how small the patrol map is for Mercury. I was led to believe it was something that can be explored anytime but I still believe Bungie can make Mercury fun again if they opened it up.
-
Yeah! I really want to explore everything. Like the present, past, and future thingies.
-
Yeah, i want to go to bad mercury as a survival event
-
New environments in the story with no other access to past and future Mercury. This DLC was a critical failure. We got a 3 hour story, a mini raid and truly little else.
-
Yeah that's what I thought too I assumed you could explore it. I doubt they will change it, it's too late.

6 RepliesIt could literally be treated as a dungeon - set pieces that go on forever once you’re in there, difficulty ramps up, chests at each pieces end - could be fantastic if you get creative with it. Hell, even put in a super rare cow level.
-
WIsh there was something to the forest besides it being a way to get from one point to another.

Personally, I thought the Forest was going to be a separate patrol area, linked to Mercury, and it was going to constantly be shifting and ever changing as you ran around killing stuff alongside random people... which sounded neat. As is, its just a chore to get through. And, this makes me even sadder, considering at one point in time, I got to the Lighthouse and thought, cool! Mercury looks awesome! I love how this first area looks, I can't wait to see more areas unlock! ...As I looked at the map and quickly realized I saw the whole patrol zone, as I said that. :(

Edited by PR4X1S: 12/18/2017 12:13:00 AMWould like to but would like to point out that In my opinion it's certainly not a forest. 1. variable noun A forest is a large area where trees grow close together. Parts of the forest are still dense and inaccessible. ...25 million hectares of forest. Bungie's idea of a forest seems to be something totally different, theirs is so sparse with trees I'd not even call it a copse.

another assumption bungie was happily aware of and did nothing the clarify..

Lock out the fast travel option once you’re in. This way, you get lost “forever” if you enter.

Not gonna lie. The first time I saw Past Mercury and how beautiful it looked I immediately thought of the large open world continent Amerish in Planetside 2 and the Plains of Eidolon in Warframe. IMO, the Infinite Forest is a complete waste of development time and money. Resources that would have been better served making a lush open world patrol area.

Like with any content, and this game isnt exactly lacking in content to be fair...there needs to be a driver, motive, reason you want to repeat it. If they had the forest as explorable....would just be another place to farm low difficulty enemies for no interesting reward...we have that right now..in heaps....

Edited by SPYKE81v: 12/16/2017 11:34:44 AMWould have been nice, to bad its the same crap over and over, was hoping to do some time travel and run into some d1 moments, oh well, cheated again . Still have one more dlc to try and play through. So i dont feel like i completely wasted my money. S hould have held off on the season pass. Stupid treeless forest...

Bring back the raids with a new feel but keeping there Originality for the guardians who missed out on the amazing experiences that you made for us. I know, what your thinking, ( isn't that milking it a little to much)... well yes and no but it's something the fans would love and i would love!! I put so many hours into D1 and so many people have as well and for those hours to have Reflected along side to side with the Developments you have made Towards The current State Destiny is now, it would have been amazing seeing The destiny universe Expanding with one base game. This would be a nice way to get back on ur feet Bungie. No kidding EVERY single player i have run accros, they tell me the same thing (" i wish all the raids would come back") ("i miss D1") ('You guys wanna go back and do some of the old raids") I honestly was hoping since year one that destiny's map would be continuously growing and growing, but sadly it was just wishful thinking. Boom, All those hours down the drain LIKE IMAGINE!!! this plus all that D 1 has to offer!!! But in one game. Ugh Bungie like what are you doing!!! Please bring back the old And make it the new again! And I repeat!!!!! The fans will love you bungie!!!! I swear that they will!!! The bad feedback will stop and I Guarantee you will make all the gamers and fans you lost to come back!! Excited screaming like little fan girls/boys!!! So? Is all this even possible? I think it is! And Bungie the Destiny community will keep pushing back again and again with bad feedback that little by little you guys will be made to mold D2 more into that Amazing game you guys pushed aside, (destiny). Tell then I'm deleting D2 and should others WE ARE the Destiny community Not Destiny 2

This along with being able to find Osiris hidden in the forest as a vendor. He said we could come back and visit him anytime in the forest.
-
Yup. I honestly thought it was the main area for mercury. Oh well. Unlikely to ever occur because its already here, unless someone can demonstrate a comparable D1 phenomena
-
No, it's just a lame ass path to a "simulated' timeline boring they couldn't even put time travel in the game Nooo to complicated pff
-
Yeah, having a second public event in the Infinite Forest would be great. I’m assuming the logistics of on-world matchmaking with a dynamically changing area is why it’s locked to a fireteam activity.
-
Great idea that bungievision will see as hard work without any monetary gain for them. Does anyone know if D2 is coded with the same engine as D1? That takes 24+ hours to load and code etc? I recall this being an issue, eg 24+ hours just to move a rock ?
-
Make sure to add the input to the main thread so they will Be seen by bungie. Bungie won’t go through comments but they will read the main body.
-
Perfectly said and totally agreed! Bungie this is a good point to listen to!!!!! Many were under the impression that the infinite forest would be so much more... besides those four adventures can only be ran so many times before they are worn out.

Absolutely would love to have access to the forest outside of missions for sure! Strikes that aren’t just rehashed missions are nice too.
