This is a bit ridiculous in my eyes. Firstly, the Kekistani movement is intended as a joke. It's a parody of identity politics as a whole, and is absolutely not a hate group. It's a made-up ethnicity intended to be a substitute for an oppressed class. It's meant to parody the use of someone's race or oppressed class as a buffer for their argument, because in reality one's race, gender, or religion does not affect the credibility of their argument one bit. And yes, it parodies white supremacy just the same as it parodies social justice warriors.
I don't understand how this is in any way a "hate group." It's just a little 4chan injoke that grew way too big until the people memeing it forgot its original meaning.
Bungie, don't become one of these skittish developers that always bows down to overzealous political correctness. There's no need to censor or change your game because it might accidentally offend someone's politics. Us fans just want you to deliver a fun experience that's exactly as the developers intended. Sure, you can say that it's just one armor piece, but it's still substantial. It could have just as easily been that a beloved exotic was found to be "offensive" and had its visuals completely overhauled just to please angry politicals. I don't like this trend in gaming and I thought Bungie was better than this.

10 RepliesBecause people started going to white supremacists meetings waving that symbol on a flag around

2 RepliesI wouldn't care at all, but they just changed them to look like another piece and now there is only 1 set of hunter legs. 1. Like wtf. Bungie why would you leave us with only these weird stitch pattern legs and change literally all hunter legs to look like them, unless you waste your exotic slot for the stompies. Bungie the least you could do is make new ones if you screwed up. This wouldn't even be a big deal but the only legs that were any different got switched, so now we're left with 1 option. Atleast Titan/Warlock all have multiple sets of legs. We only get one. So much for a cool looking hunter :/

4 RepliesIf they had a BLM symbol is game you'd be freaking out lol you're done

8 RepliesEdited by Merkd: 9/13/2017 10:33:35 AMIt's absolutely pathetic as are the alt-right and their -blam!-ing kekistan. Absolutely embarrassing and there's no more to it than that. Makes me so embarrassed to live in the same world as people who follow cartoon frogs for a living. I've said it twice now but it's actually the most embarrassing thing i've had to witness. edit- reading through these comments made me spew in my mouth a little 😂😂😂😂😂😂 KEKISTAN FLAG 😂😂😂

1 ReplySo will Bungie be changing the names of Goblins, Hydras, Wizards & even Titans since those are also names for KKK ranks?

4 RepliesSomebody was triggered so a bunch more people got triggered by them being triggered? Y'all are a bunch of asshats.

hidden leftist regime, nexr the will want magnets all depolarized so they dont have a one way attraction.

You definitely do not understand.

1 ReplyI could care less one way or the other. Bungie wants to re skin it, no big deal to me. They want to leave it as is? also no big deal to me. Its their game and their choice.

1 ReplySerious question here. I loved the set for its aesthetics. My only hunter (I share an account) was decked out entirely in road complex except for my cloak and boots(exotic). I've invested a lot in the set between infusion, shader, and mods. If Bungie is going to delete the set, what happens to this guardians progress?

1 ReplyWould it be possible to organize some sort of Memorial Service for the removal of the symbol? Like, people could congregate someplace and just wear green armor as a sort of farewell?

Ahh freedom .. so glad our fourfathers fought in wars to keep FREE speech alive. Its so nice to see all of you christian soldiers marching toward a completely stupid and useless cause like normal, you truly are making the word worse. Thank you for your consistent complaining over everything other people do that you don't like/agree with. Ahh freedom. How about this you don't like it don't look at it? Just as i don't "like" church or the people who go to it sooo i don't go and look at them... freedom allows me to do this amazing thing like ignore them.

1 ReplyWait... Are they actually going to censor this?!?!?

What am I missing here? I don't understand...

I thought it was K I for Killer Instinct, which was a really fun fighting game in the arcade. The second one sucked though.

2 RepliesWHY WOULD YOU LINK THAT PICUTRE I'M SO TRIGGERED RIGHT NOW THAT I'M LITERALLY SHAKING LITERALLY!!!!!

4 RepliesHonestly, Bungo probably didn't intentionally put a controversial symbol on their armor, but to avoid the potential outcry, simply removed it to show they aren't a bunch of assholes. After marvel took it in the A over having anti-semitic references in their comics (see http://www.vulture.com/2017/04/marvels-x-men-were-rocked-by-a-hidden-koranic-message.html), they probably don't want there to even be an inkling suggesting they are putting politically charged messages in their game. This is pure CYA guys. Get over it.

2 RepliesWait... What's wrong with the arms I'm currently using on my hunter? Nothing? Ok good, I thought I heard people bitching about nothing over here. Continue.

1 ReplyThe replies to this post gave me cancer and cured it simultaneously. Why can't we just kill space monsters and be happy about it?

8 RepliesImages like this have only as much power as we give them. It never was intended to be a hate symbol, and to 99% of the players I would assume it was just another gauntlet. I personally, had never seen this symbol until Bungie made a deal out of it. This drew way more attention then just leaving it alone. How about Bungie, instead of wasting time, money, and resources removing a "hate symbol" from your game your donate to the family of the victim of the Charlottesville who experience ACTUAL hate and racism for standing against what that symbol represents.

1 ReplySorry but I'm not getting what's offensive in that picture. Care to explain?

Edited by DuBChiri2: 9/13/2017 8:01:37 PMI don't think anyone, even people who knew what the symbol meant, would actually be able to see the 2 k's 4 lines and the 1/I at each side as offensive. I feel like someone out there accused bungie of being hateful for 2 letters, 4 lines, and the I/1 If you look at it more closely, even if you saw it read "kek" wouldn't it technically be IKEKI or some dumb garbage like that? I will now show this image to all my meme loving friends to see if they even recognize/notice it spells kek... "If you read it and it doesn't say kek, YOU'RE A WITCH" "If you read it and it does say kek, thou art Buffoon"
