I don't think it will be over $499 USD.
What are you hoping the cost will be?
For the people saying $600+, you have to take into consideration that Microsoft can't afford to alienate countries that don't have as strong of a currency as the USD.
If it were to cost $600, that would mean it would also cost £600, and then it would mean it would cost over $800 in both Austrailia and Canada. It would be very bad PR to have a device a part of their Xbox family to be listed as something that expensive.
It's already been stated that this device is not looking to compete with PCs, but that it will be at a console price point. At $600 or more, it's going into PC territory.
Even the raw specs of the Scorpio that have been revealed compared to the PS4 Pro aren't too far off from each other, and the Scorpio is releasing a year away from the PS4 Pro.
It's been stated that the Xbox One S will continue to sell more than the Scorpio, and that's because the majority of the general public would rather buy the $200-$250 Xbox One S (let's be honest here, with Microsoft's history of price drops, the Xbox One S could very well drop to $200 for the holiday season) for a 4K Blu Ray player or for their kids for Christmas as opposed to the hardcore gaming crowd buying an upgraded version of the same console for $400 or more.

18 RepliesEdited by ABeardedViking: 5/10/2017 6:43:17 AMIf they are smart MS would price it at the same point as the PS Pro 399.99 . At that price point people would eat that shit up

Think or hope? If everyone assumes high, the company will go high. I hope for the lowest.

Phil Spencer already squashed the idea that the price of this thing will be anything out of the general trend of console prices. People toying with the notion that Microsoft will release a video game console for absurd prices like $600 or $700 are out of their mind. This thing will cost from $399 on the low end to $499 on the high end. People expecting some sort of magical machine that plays video games that look and run better than their wildest dreams for a whopping $700 need to temper their expectations.

$500, I don't see Microsoft taking a loss on a mid-generation upgrade.
-
Can't be more expensive than the pro
-
38 RepliesI wouldn't pay 500$ for a system that offers fake 4k. You can build a better working PC with 500.
-
Or just buy a PC
-
2 RepliesAt first they said they wanted it to be a 'premium product at a premium price' but now I believe that they're saying it's not going to be all that expensive in comparison to launch Xbox one
-
7 RepliesThey said it will be 399 at launch

4 RepliesNo more than $600. I doubt it will be $600, but Microsoft said the Scorpio is a premium XBOX1.
