Nerfed special ammo - Icebreaker meta sucks
Bungie nerfed special ammo, and now even with side arms you only spawn with a clip. Who wins, whoever has an icebreaker 90% of the time! I want to be able to counter with special weapons again, but consistently out of ammo. I practiced perfection with both shotguns and fusions, and now struggle to retain any ammo to counter icebreakers particularly in trials. Try countering an icebreaker with a primary, it typically results in your head exploding.
Bungie, quit messing with the sandbox and let us play the game. Every time we get used to the so called new weapon meta, you change it? Why? Because some people complain, and you can. You have killed the pvp experience for many. Thanks for that. Keep it up in Destiny 2, and see how your player retention base works out.

4 RepliesIce breaker shouldn't have special treatment on special ammo. If you pick up a box it should start charging (way faster) but allowing charge without boxes is crazy in crucible. Trials is just ice breaker and there is no need to take anything but that sniper. Hereafter = dead Patience = dead 1ys = dead

I would say make primary weapons the only thing allowed to be used in trials but then is would be an ability spam fest. Oh wait, it already is. My bad

Went thru trials before getting it and my NON ICEBREAKER team made a few complete icebreaker teams rage quit. Don't be mad at ole Icy, be mad at special ammo. Icebreaker takes 8 seconds to gain one round. 48 seconds to gain all 6. It CAN kill with one headshot if the user is accurate enough to even get said headshot. Dregs promise(aimbot's promise) kills in two bursts, you get about 5 on respawn........it's all my friend uses even though he has an icebreaker. Primaries like scout rifles and pulse rifles can SERIOUSLY mess over an icebreaker, the flinch is ridiculous now imho. Practice with those instead of shotguns and fusion rifles. Edit: wrong on charge time, forgot about the change. 42 seconds for max ammo.

Haven't used any other special other than ice breaker and wormwood since the patch. Destiny pvp is almost as boring as Halo 5's story line now

I find it funny that they didn't expect this, surely they must have known that it would become an issue. I'm glad it's been overtaken by a lot of other snipers for pve otherwise I'd be annoyed at people wanting nerfs to the icebreaker, it was go to pve sniper in the day but now it seems like the ice boys are taking over pvp.

Well with player retention in Queensland the prestige edition of destiny 2 or whatever it's called. Sold out in preorders in 2 minutes. The the special edition in 20 minutes so yeah they don't care haha

1 ReplyThey should have done this to Special ammo a long time ago, except have it only spawn twice a match. Then, leave the Primary weapons all exactly as they were and remove Exotics as an option in PvP. Problem solved.
