Simple question: what do you think is the hardest to fight?
There are a number of machines that can prove challenging when up against them, but in my opinion the Stormbird is the most troublesome. It's weakpoints are hard to hit as it flies around, and it doesn't have a heavy weapon to shoot off and use against it. It's attacks are also hard to dodge and do massive damage against you.
So what do you guys think? What machines gave you a run for your money or really tested your skills?

13 RepliesSo far, Sawtooths. Those things are ridiculously powerful.

5 RepliesEdited by Rin: 3/13/2017 2:01:59 PMUpdate: the hardest machine I fought so far was definitely Rockbreakers (aka giant robot moles). The first one I encountered was during the side quest that took place in the quarry. Died once when it had less than 25% health but killed it the next time

7 RepliesSuper disappointed in how simple and easy you can kill everything. I thought most stuff would at least take some strategy but no. Apparently the ancient humans were all less deadly than a girl with a bow because "death bringers" just sit there and let you kill them and "corruptors" are super easy to just light on fire while dodging the boulders they slowly sling at you

1 ReplyI don't see watchers
-
2 RepliesI haven't beaten the game yet so right now it's the Rockbreaker. I ran across a couple of corrupted ones the other day but couldn't kill either one.
-
1 ReplyAll Mother's titties.
-
1 ReplyThunderjaw and Stormbird are the only large machines I've come across but I took them both down pretty easily on Very Hard

13 RepliesStormbird!? -blam!-ing scrubs Check this out.... https://youtu.be/6gkdzJ-mgF0

2 Replieseveryone knows there are only 3 hard to kill enemies. 3rd is deathbringers. i mean they move SO fast you can't even land hits on them. 2nd is tallnecks they do SO much damage and it takes forever to beat them. and 1st is the watchers. i mean they die in 1 hit and to the EYE?! of all places it could have been its so hard to hit the eye especially when there looking right at you. and then they think there bruce lee or something doing flying side kicks.

1 ReplyI recently got the ancient high-tech armor today. It trivializes combat and I barely have to heal anymore. If you struggle with any machine, GET THAT ARMOR!
-
7 RepliesThose -blam!-ing Dodos or Ostriches or whatever you call them. They give me an unreasonable amount of trouble for what they are.
-
1 ReplyCorrupted Rockbreakers were insane. Only hope is to cheese them with freeze arrows. You try to get in there legit and you're completely not winning.
-
12 RepliesMust say fought my first ThuderJaw today and was quite disappointed with how easy he went down

16 RepliesHonestly, I have the hardest time with Sawtooths. That being said, I haven't fought a Rockbreaker or Stormbird. (this is assuming overrides, and ropecaster spam aren't included, andthat we're going open combat, not stealthy) Thunderjaws aren't too hard. The disc launchers reduce their health to half, their attacks are really easy to avoid, and the remaining weak points are big enough to hit pretty easily. Stalkers are easy. Their melee attacks are easily seen, and two shock arrows down them. Bellowbacks explode at every easy to hit weakpoiny broken. Shell Walkers are as simple as knocking the crate off with a single Hardpoint Arrow. They'll pick it up with their gun hand, leaving the easy to hit shield generator as your target. Ravagers a weapon to knock off, and two easy to hit power cells to stun them. But Sawtooths!? They have one component to hit, on their armored--armored--undersides, leaving their eyes as their only viable weakpoint, and those eyes are jumping all over the place! Their attacks are easy enough to dodge, but the battle drags on long enough that I'll mess up somewhere! Glinthawks come as a pretty close second, though.

1 ReplyEdited by aiv6: 3/12/2017 4:01:40 AMTallnecks are the worst. They take forever to kill so I just uninstalled the game. 0/10, doesn't even have co-op

Stormbird isn't so bad. I just destroyed all his attachments while he was flying, then tethered him down and hit all his weak spots and unloaded on him

1 ReplyRock breakers. Specially when they spawn in twos. Cannot engage them in the open with most of their movement underground and their uncanny ability to track you and kill you. I have beat the corrupted RB's as well as 4 others and this is how. You need to find cover ON some rocks. Big rocks. Mod heavily for ranged damage resist. This is the biggest part though. TEAR arrows on their feet. Tear those off and they cannot dig. They are then stuck just flopping around. Then triple tap with ICE and follow with sticky's or whatever you got on hand. Still the toughest fight for me in the game. Not to mention the RB's in the corrupted zone chased me out of the zone across the road and into the river. Seriously WTF. I'm standing at a "safe distance" figuring out what I'm going to do next and get belly slammed by a rabid mole crossed with a homicidal walrus with a operating system lifted from a T-1000. Yeah. The rest are really no big deal.

1 ReplyI don't even own this game but I chose thunderjaw because it sound badass.

Edited by The First Aifos: 3/12/2017 2:21:54 PMFought a Rockbreaker. 4 actually. I also put into effect some of the advice people gave me on Sawtooths. Now, I didn't find Rockbreakers too hard. It was very cover based. Block their attacks--ironically--with a rock, as you shoot of their feet with Tearblast/Hardpoint arrows. Once they're stuck above ground, blast the core until they go boom. Going with previous restrictions (no ropecaster, open combat, no override, etc.) my new answer is Glinthawks. When a single horde enemy takes down a lot of my health by itself, the horde usually finishes it. Though, still haven't fought a Stormbird. They'll probably win.

1 ReplyYou left off the Behemoth. Can one hit you with their boulder chucking ability.
-
1 ReplyRockbreaker. I don't see the issue with storm birds, just use a rope on them and then stick the shit outta them.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Seldser: 3/10/2017 5:56:06 PMDefinitely Rockbreakers for me. Considering their only spawn point always features two, it's suicide to take them both on within their movement boundary.
-
5 RepliesEdited by The Stranger: 3/10/2017 5:17:05 PMI'm voting Rockbreaker. Thunderjaw and Stalker are pretty easy once you shoot their gun off and turn it against them. Stormbirds are pretty easy once you have a strategy and I've only successfully fought one Rockbreaker so far. There's a corruption zone with three in that smashed me repeatedly. That said I've not fought a Deathbringer yet. I've paused with one literally round the corner from me, so this may change soon.
-
1 ReplyI'd say Thunderjaw but they're pretty easy if you blow their disklaunchers off. Stormbirds are also pretty hard if you don't have a ropecaster.

Personally, Rockbreakers give me the toughest time. I can kill everything else on the list with relative ease, but Rockbreakers continue to prevail. They just dig underground so much and attack from below (which is a pain in the ass to dodge) and when they surface, their movement kicks up so much rock that I can't see their limbs well enough to keep them from going back underground. Also, screw that corrupted site with 2 Rockbreakers.
