I wanna see what everyone's thoughts on them are.

Scouts are great, but keep in mind that sidearms and hand cannons are overpopulating crucible. So if your gonna use it, keep a close range weapon handy.

Inward lamp is my go to weapon of choice no matter what. So good and perfectly balanced.

Dude. I got an Inward Lamp (Year 2 Trials scout rifle) with Full Auto, Smallbore, OEG, and Outlaw. G-O-D-L-Y

Edited by xBadush: 2/25/2017 12:08:31 PMWell I have never been a meta player so I've used a handful of scouts. IMHO, the primaries are really balanced now, you can go into a crucible match with any primary and do good with it. You always could but it's just easier now. Anyways, back to scouts. They absolutely shred. For mid-long range engagements low RoF scouts, such as the Cocytus SR4 and the Jade Rabbit, are really good. I mean top tier good. Low-Mid RoF scouts, such as the Hung Jury or Boolean Gemini, they might have a pretty bad TTK but they're absolute work horses and they are good at most ranges. Just very reliable scouts over all. Then we have the Mid-High RoF archetype, including scouts such as The Distant Star and MIDA Multitool, they're good at most ranges and their TTK is better than the Mid-Low RoF archetype. They are very strong and always has been. Last but not least, the High RoF scouts. NL Shadow and The Inward Lamp are some examples of scouts in this archetype. They are very underrated. They're most suited for mid range combat. If you don't hit your headshots they're not very good. But when you do... Oh, the TTK! I'd say they're the Mid-High RoF archetype's wilder less reliable brother. But they're good. Really good!

1 ReplyI will let you in on a little secret jade rabbit destroys everything give it a go.But scouts in general have probably been the most consistent primary from launch least nerfed imo

I think scouts need a little something something to make them effective. I recently picked up a cryptic dragon with crowd control, HCR and firefly, thing does extremely well. But if it didn't have crowd control or HCR I don't think it would be as effective. So yes I think their good but the need HCR, explosive rnds, reactive reload, CC, something to give them that little push so that they can compete.

2 RepliesI love the MIDA...still my go-to PVP gun.
-
High impact scouts are the best, if you hit your headshots. But literally every other scout rifle type has a poor TTK and you're better off with a good pulse rifle

You gotta give Keystone 001 a try, it's perfect for rushers- if you use it like a handcannon and space out your shots- it's -blam!-in amazing. I used it before on rushers who I can clearly see rushing me- and for those nice team shots we are all so guilty of. Of course you can use a MIDA or Distant star, but it is way funner using Higher Power lrof Scouts. It takes an adjustment tho, but totally worth it.

Only ones ive seen mostly are mida, jade rabbit and distant star (not as often)
-
Love the scout got a rusher use a fast fire no lands giving you a problem jade rabbit or omnolon sr4 or if your used to it the chaos dogma distant star has great range they all work if your patient
-
They are very strong option if you want to stay out of hand cannon and sidearm range.
-
1 ReplyI have noticed a lot of them in the crucible. The cryptic dragon, distant star, and the suros/omolon foundry ones are very effective.
-
1 ReplyThey are great if you can use them at proper ranges. The problem is a lot of people still want to rush in on you, or the fights are otherwise in the tighter sections of the maps.
