As everyone pretty much knows, once you get to 5 or 6 wins you get the streamers and no life players who play no other games, have all god roll meta weapons, and play at least 8-10 hours a day. Now as for me, a more casual and above average player, I perform well to the 5 and 6 win mark. All of sudden then, I go from people I can compete with to playing people who have 10 sensitivity, jug shield, Matador god roll, god roll clever dragon.
I'm not complaining about myself never being able to go flawless, but I do have to say that players (since year 1) have now paid at least $120 on this game. And now there are parts we aren't even allowed to unlock? By trying to get it ourselves? I find that wrong.
So I propose the Tier System. The Tier System will rank in order: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond. The Tier System will place you ONLY with players that are within your Tier range. For example: you and your friends are in Bronze, Bronze, and Silver. The other players you face will be in Bronze and Silver tier. Or let's say you're just amazing at trials so your team is Platinum, Diamond, Platinum. Your team will face other teams in Platinum and Diamond.
Let me know what you guys think, I believe this System would help allow people who can't sell their souls to destiny have a chance at even just 7 wins in trials. It would also allow for more competitive matches, making it less likely for complete blowouts.
Bronze: 5 wins = armor 7 wins = weapons flawless = bronze tier flawless emblem

Silver: 5 wins = armor 7 wins = weapons Flawless = silver tier flawless emblem and low chance of adept weapons

Gold: 5 wins = armor 7 wins = weapons Flawless = gold tier flawless emblem and trip to lighthouse

Platinum: 5 wins = armor with a chance of also dropping weapons 7 wins = weapons or a chance of an adept weapon Flawless = platinum tier flawless emblem and trip to lighthouse

Diamond: 5 wins = armor with a chance of dropping weapons and a chance of dropping ornaments 7 wins = weapons or a higher chance of dropping adept weapons than platinum Flawless = diamond tier flawless emblem with trip to lighthouse, including a diamond tier shader and possible extra rewards
Apologies for confusion on this idea just being a solution to make trials easier, I just thought it was a good way to make people want to come back to trials, knowing they have a chance of doing well and being able to get some rewards for facing players on their level

My buddies and I were just talking about this. Great concept. I'm ranked 400,000 in trials but just got matched with #263 for Xbox. Just saying let me work my way up to playing the ringers. Who said making a tier system would make things less competitive? Doesn't seem like too much to ask
-
Mate they can't change something on Bladedancer without it affecting other classes abilities and, unbelievably, weapon perks so they aren't ever changing Trials in this game. Time to let go. Mass Effect out next month btw.
-
Clearly your who they dont want in the lighthouse
-
6 RepliesI'm 43 years old and I'm mediocre at PVP. I made it to the lighthouse last week. You just have to practice and put some time in. Trials is fun because it is competitive.
-
2 RepliesTiered in D2 yes. Unfortunately nearly everyone has ditched trials now so would be rough to divide things up more now.
-
Yes he had it correct i have been playing since year 1 I got my first flawless last month just me and some average friends and we have gone 2 more times since then you just need to practice and keep the same team you work better if you play together more often
-
Sounds like a decent idea for d2. With the shrinking fanbase at the moment you might wait ages for a game

13 RepliesJesus this stuff really gets to me I appreciate ideas but this one is straight up stupid, no offence. Do you know how long it takes to find a flawless game? It can often be 4 minutes plus, and then you eventually get chucked in a game with people on their first game as it can't find any for you. You're proposing to split us up in to even more pools when the player base is already getting smaller for trials. Not gonna happen. How about you win 40 games over a weekend lighthouse is unlocked plain and simple no need to mess with matchmaking, you just don't get the emblem and going flawless would be a short cut. You also can't dismantle your card until it is full or you're eliminated.
-
Errgghh shut up about it, already
-
30 RepliesDarling trials is for the best, if you can't go flawless don't try change the system to make it easier for yourself.
-
8 RepliesBad idea. Your system would divide an already underpopulated matchmaking pool resulting in a long matchmaking times and poor connections. We already suffer enough from that in trials, especially with the win based matchmaking. On your flawless match, matchmaking is attempting to find the remaining 1.6% of the online players that are also at eight wins. You're essentially proposing to divide that into even smaller groups.

14 RepliesSo for someone to be good at the game they either have to be a "no life" or a streamer?
-
30 Repliesa way to significantly increase the number of players playing would be to simply put a stop to all paid aspects of the game. carries, account recoveries etc. This would remove the incentive to the top tier players to continue to play as often as they have been as they have little if anything to gain from it.
-
Trials is fine the way it is. People have connection issues how it is now. You throw this in there and you match people constantly from around the world and connections will be worse. Doesn't matter which tier you are in.
-
I 100% agree under the condition of tiered rewards similar to what you mentioned
-
1 ReplyTrials is fine. Me and my group of average friends play every weekend and finally made it to the lighthouse yesterday for the first time since rise of iron dropped. It felt good to finally get there after trying for so long. Its all about playing with the same people and getting better with them. Voop.
-
6 RepliesThis tier system would have to give exclusive loot to those in the upper tiers- and i think if this were the case we would still have the same problem we do now.
-
10 RepliesThat literally defeats the entire purpose of Trials existing in the first place.
-
6 RepliesIf you do that, the rewards have to be different. A Diamond player should get either more or better gear than a bronze. Honestly, though, this would just make it nearly impossible to go flawless. If you are always matched with someone comparable to you, your win percentage would likely be around 50 percent. Winning 9 matches in a row would be unlikely at a 50 percent win chance per match.

All I see is that OP is just mad
-
Forget trials it's not as fun as it used to be and it will only get harder as more casual players stop playing it getting to the light house isn't that important
-
Edited by mrbird33: 2/13/2017 10:21:54 AMTrials is fine as is...Have btw u are not an above average player..we are slightly below
-
6 RepliesFunny, I'm not a streamer or a no-life player... Going flawless isn't that hard... Maybe it's just you.
-
I agree, I also wouldn't classify trials as competitive because there is no sbmm
-
2 RepliesEdited by RevZilla: 2/13/2017 5:09:26 AMYour flaw is anyone can deflate their"Tier" or "ELO" very quickly. Which would make carries even easier let alone people who do account recoveries. Also assuming everyone would let the lowest tier/elo player host they would most likely be playing people under their skill level. The real problem with trials isn't the people doing carries, they're already putting themselves at a disadvantage. If you think it's a blowout against a carry imagine if they were running a full stacked team, people need to stop sitting in streams hoping to be carried or donating for a guaranteed lighthouse run and actually play the game. That's the main issue. No one wants to play trials, a good majority of people want to be carried to the lighthouse. If people start playing instead of wanting things handed to them the pool of players will increase, resulting in more average teams going to the lighthouse or at the least getting the 5 and 7 win rewards. The only thing I think they should do in Trials is make it to where EVERYONE on the fireteam has to be on the same number of wins on the same card, none of that bs where the host is on game 7 and the other one/two players are on game 9.
