Do you guys have to sweat your butts off EVERY SINGLE TIME you enter the PvP arena?? Would it KILL you to run anything besides Matador/Palindrome/Eyesluna??
In all seriousness guys let me know below, do you ever get bored running the same loadouts over and over and over again?
P.S. respect to all you fusion rifle-rs out there
EDIT: Holy crap, thank you for all your responses! There are some interesting loadouts here.
EDIT: I can totally understand you guys wanting to play to win, especially for trials. Here's a follow up question - do you mix it up in control, clash, etc.? It's not like you have to win in those playlists, I play those to have fun rather than win.

2 RepliesIf you can't beat them, join them. It is what it is until the next weapons balance patch.
-
-blam!- the weapons when there's -blam!-ing lag
-
Yes I pride myself on using the 1000-yard stare and other different fusion rifles, but I mainly use my primarys' such as the monty carlo, an answering chord and the lingering song. I also get triggered by people camping around corners and meters away from cap. Points with the party crasher and the matador 64

Oh I get bored as hell running the same guns over and over again. Don't see how people can do it :/ I usually keep snipers, shotguns and fusion rifles on each character. And different variations of primary weapons. For 1, I'm too lazy to move the same guns around between characters. And 2, like I said. I get bored as hell using the same thing. MIDA is the only gun I'll consistently use between my characters. If I'm putting on my tryhard pants. Said boredom is why I've started picking up using the NLB. Fun gun. Challenging. Yet rewarding.

I usually run with Queenbreaker's Bow and Extremophile. Very fun load out, but when EVERYBODY else is running the meta it's pretty frustrating.
-
No land beyond & deidris's retort/conviction sidearm + sword is that ok? NaCl guy.

Would you rather pick up a heavy crate by yourself or use a forklift? Same applies in games people will use the most effective tools to get the job done. We humans would of never progressed so far if all we ever used were sticks and rocks...

Would it KILL you to run anything besides Matador/Palindrome/Eyesluna???
In regards to Palindrome and Eyasluna: Actually yes it would in most cases. Those Hand Cannons tend to be the most consistent HC's in the game, thanks to Bloom. I usually run Finnala's Peril but I've been messing around with The First Curse lately, if you're not running Palindrome or Eyasluna with Rifled Barrel you're putting yourself at a disadvantage (Finnala's Peril is no longer attainable). In regards to Matador (aka Mapador aka Metador) It's the best shotgun in the game and right now the game caters more to shotgun play than any other special weapon. I prefer sniping and tend to use my Winged Word but the changes to snipers have lead me to run a shotgun occasionally. Blame the Bungie balance team for your shotgun filled lobbies instead of trying to blame the players for adjusting to what's the most effective loadout.
Do you guys have to sweat your asses off EVERY SINGLE TIME you enter the PvP arena???
Answer to question 1: Just because someone is playing better than you that doesn't mean they are "sweating". Answer to queston 2: I'm going to assume no. If they were bored doing it then chances are they would just play something else.

Edited by bFLY: 2/1/2017 8:16:12 PMIf they didn't run the meta, their kd would drop like a rock lol But yes I get bored with the same load out. But because pvp is so unbalanced you are almost forced to run the same guns. Or you end up losing encounters that you probably could have won had you pulled out your matador or clever dragon. I run Hopscotch or Suros Regime and matador.

Edited by cuzzybubba1: 2/1/2017 5:00:59 PMHere's the thing.. you want to kill people and not be killed, the best way to do this is use the best weapons available for said task. I understand it's frustrating seeing the same weapons in the kill feed, personally I'm disgusted using Clever..Palindrome..over and over. If I break out Thorn, it shoots potatoes. If I break out an Auto, I just die before half the clip is gone...etc... This is Bungie's fault and hopefully a much wider variety of weapons are available with a good time to kill after the upcoming patch.

In general, a little. Before I got any good shotgun, I could still kill it in crucible with a primary and my abilities at my disposal. But now that I have a good shotgun, I'm more relentless than I used to be. For instance before I had a great special weapon for PvP, I would cautiously approach enemies. Now that I have a shotgun of my own, I don't worry about dying too much because I can balance the kill death ratio with more kills.

2 RepliesI use hawkmoon ldr. It's pretty fun.
-
Is Hawkmoon/LDR okay with you? When I get an Eyasluna I'll use that as well because I'm addicted to Hawkmoon and you know that Eyasluna is a legendary Hawkmoon. Hope you're cool with that!
-
I run PDX-45 and Queenbreaker. Is that okay?
-
I'm a primary user for sure. I have used the MIDA since the Hawkmoon went to poopsville. I just got the 64 recently and do use it on occasion, but mostly I can handle the situation with the Multitool. So to answer your question... yes, for the most part I use the same load out because it works. I get the itch to switch every now and then, but this usually lasts half a match.

3 RepliesHand of judgement and a sidearm. Unless I'm a titan. Then it's armamentarium, suppressor nades, shotgun, and hand of judgment. Yes, I like peeing in people's cheerios.
-
I used the vendor clever dragon the other day Has no HCR, and it's just filthy how good that gun is I think it's stems from people's urge to compete I think everyone wants to use an auto or something else but they don't wanna be shit on while doing so Takes one -blam!- to ruin it for everyone
-
I asked myself the same thing the other day. Do people not get bored of running clever dragon, matador? I change my load out nearly every match just to try and keep the game fun.
-
Cryptic Dragon, Invective, Titanium Orchid. The meta is boring.
-
PVP is gross at the moment and probably still will be after the patch.
-
I run around with thorn and shoulder charge doesn't work all the time.
-
I don't play this game anymore but NLB, fusion or Luna, fusion was my loadout all the time. (Btw people who are in last get best loot ;) so I like losing) meta players just need to chill out cause they may enjoy using something else since destiny is dying

People who post comments like this, I think, care too much about their stats. Like I have. I have been going in with friends and just having fun. This will also actually help you improve as a player. Like last night, and I actually saw this idea in another post, whatever weapon dropped as a reward at the end of a match is what you would have to play with in the next match. There was a lot of laughing and fun had. Then, once the lag got out of hand, I just informed my team I was now getting aggravated and they agreed and we removed ourselves and did something else. But, I was hardly ever outgunned. The lag in matches, plus modded controllers, etc is what drives me mad. It is one thing to get outgunned by an op clever dragon and I do not adapt, vs a melting burst from a clever dragon from a modded controller... But outside of a grind hoping for a god roll gun, I have everything. There is nothing out there that rewards the "top players" outside of maybe trying to get to the lighthouse. I had to remember that I enjoy playing more with my friends than trying to be the "top player" of which I would never be anyways. There are just too many outstanding players out there. Most of those outstanding players do not even complain, they adapt to the game at hand. If lag is real, they move in groups and team shot at a slower pace, if they are facing the meta, they counterbalance with closing the gap and etc. No hand cannon is "the meta". All of them do 3 shots, two if you have luck in the chamber and most players still just use the last word for the close quarter battles. This meta does suck, but as I started caring about other things and really playing with any other gun, I am seeing there is actually less of a balance issue at hand and that my shooting was more off than I thought. What gave me confidence with this is taking my guns into private matches with friends. Stand there and test your damage output with all your guns, but then run and play in the private match with those same guns... you will see that the movement of players does come into play a lot more than the gun you are using. This is not arguing your point, but just some random thought that might help people.

16 Repliesin my opinion, ranked playlists and social playlists would fix this problem, or if bungie decided to get the rights back to halo and just re release halo 3 for Xbox one, that would be cool too
-
yeah i love going in using trash weapons so i can get stomped by every other person in the lobby who are using meta weapons. go make friends and play private matches if you wanna dick around smh

2 RepliesBecause using an eyasluna and a shotgun is a fun active play style. While using a fusion and an auto is a boring, passive play style.
