Do you guys have to sweat your butts off EVERY SINGLE TIME you enter the PvP arena?? Would it KILL you to run anything besides Matador/Palindrome/Eyesluna??
In all seriousness guys let me know below, do you ever get bored running the same loadouts over and over and over again?
P.S. respect to all you fusion rifle-rs out there
EDIT: Holy crap, thank you for all your responses! There are some interesting loadouts here.
EDIT: I can totally understand you guys wanting to play to win, especially for trials. Here's a follow up question - do you mix it up in control, clash, etc.? It's not like you have to win in those playlists, I play those to have fun rather than win.

1 ReplyI'm definitely guilty of being a bit of a meta whore.. but I've always liked pulse shotgun. From time to time I'll break out things like no land, or the trials fusion rifle. Gotta admit I'm trash with fusions though lol
-
46 RepliesI like to mix it up. Really love my Palindrome, but will also put on MIDA, Universal remote, Burning Eye, and NLB. I really love running Chaperone as a secondary, but do have a nice Conspiracy Theory D and Matador depending on which console I am on at the time. Winged Word and Longbow are my snipers of choice. I also like running Branded Lord for Fusion Rifle fun. I don't hold any ill will towards players who use the weapons they feel give them the best shot at winning. I just try to have fun with it and not worry too much what other people are using unless I see something I want to try out.

My warlock making you salty yet?
-
Special=LDR/Thesan Primary=TFC, water star, reflection sum Heavy=Sword Some mix up of that

I never get tired of double body shotting people. I'll start AND end and engagement with a skip grenade. If my smoke and grenades don't kill you, I'll shade step out and try again later. I'll run at you with a jug shield like you've purchased the last flat screen TV on a black Friday. I run HCR on my clever dragon. I play Stormcaller during iron banner. I throw stickies whenever my opponent has gun skill. I. Am. The. Meta.
-
Of course I mix it up. I like to run my First Curse or god roll Colovance's Duty. I'm absolutely in love with the But Not Forgotten sniper rifle at the moment. Dang thing just feels so crispy. Never was good with a fusion, but I have been known to run the filthy meta Saladin's Vigil from time to time lol. And I'll never understand how people use rockets in PvP. I can't even hit the broad side of a barn with Truth or Gjally. AND THEY'RE FULLY UPGRADED! So, Silvered Dread all the way. But yeah, when I'm not doing the Meta, as the kids call these days, I'm running those guns.

If I'm playing my Titan it's 2 shotguns and shoulder charging galore

4 RepliesHere's my Hunter loadout: (disclaimer, I have restarted my hunter [again] so currently you can't view this) Nightstalker: w/ helm of spookistep, Felwinters Artifact, max dis/str, max agility and recovery (wombo combo is unstoppable. muaha-muaHA-MUAHAHAHAHA) Primary: Lingering Song w/ rifled barrel, explosive rounds, zen moment Special: Ether Nova (can't find a -blam!-ing saladman's vigil) Heavy: The always OP Quillm's Terminator (or a sword if I'm feeling lucky) So like, basically, don't shoot at me, or come through a doorway, or slide at me, or look at me funny, or breathe within a 20 meter radius or thou shall inhale voision and explosive notes. Truly I love this setup though. And I could not ask for a better roll on that hand cannon. It is seriously unfair. I'll 2-tap in IB. 3-Tap almost always in normal crucible. The explosive rounds are absolutely disgusting. Wasn't ever that great with the Bow in PvP, so I decided to master the WC. And now, well.. I like PvP. Any thoughts?

Last Word+Longbow since HoW

I have always hated running shotgun. Felt dirty. Any time I ever used them, it was purely defensive. Now that Saladins Vigil is in my life and very consistent, I just dismantle any and every shotgun i get, I don't even check perks.
-
1 ReplyIs that the new thing since sbmm is effectively gone? The reason for sucking is the meta? Rofl

Maybe it's that I don't do trials, but in my last iron banner I ran across 2 guys using a matador, I play a lot of ib, That's it (i die a fair bit so I watch what kills me lol) now one of those guys I played 3 matches in a row and he did a lot of rush kills but I changed primarys and used an unbent tree to melt him. I can't snipe in PvP I think I have maybe 2 or 3 kills that way. I enjoy tresapasser and havoc pigeon but I didn't train myself to use it properly and I just spray and pray with telesto....but a shotgun for me is a last resort I switch to when your close and I am not sure I'll get you in a primary fight, there have been some matches I never switched over but from a statistical analysis of my loadout I ran shotgun...didn't use it but ran it. Maybe I'm the outlier in this but I use anything but hand cannons so map and opponent is a much bigger factor in how I loadout Mida/h. Pilgrm/c drgn/unbent tree 2 morgue/mata/invec/telesto Hmg(nemesis str is current fav)/ruin wake

If the opponents are using shotguns, I often switch to fusion or sidearm because most of them dont know how to play against those weapons.
-
When I got tired of Matador I started using mine. It was easy and I got lots of kills but boring. I started using the trespasser with a perfect for pvp imago loop and I love it. Still get tired of the -blam!-ing Matador melee snipes though
-
I love using the hopscotch pilgrim, just nostalgic reasons. I constantly swap weapons and subclasses when I do pvp.
-
Whatever I have equipped on my Warlock is the last thing I used in pvp
-
I can't run the same load outs for too many games in a row, or I'll get too bored with pvp (which is probably why i don't win much). My favorite weapons are probably queenbreakers bow, plan c, ill will, tlaloc, thorn, and ex astris. Don't worry if you don't know what an Ex Astris is, most people don't. It's the Vanguard fusion rifle with the fastest charge rate, and mine has rifled barrel, icarus, and rangefinder. It melts shotgunners if I just jump back and shoot in the air.

Assembly II and Datkblades Spite here. Come at me!
-
I don't like using the "meta weapons". I would feel embarrassed to have my gamertag tied to a meta weapon every time I got a kill. But besides that, It's more of a challenge to use non-meta weapons and tactics, thus more satisfying to kill meta weapon users with my non meta weapons.

Edited by Spacedublin: 2/2/2017 2:03:23 PMGot no other choice. I too want to mess around and enjoy my arsenal of terrible guns but they are terrible and i will get somewhat destroyed if i use them. I dont even blame the players, we are all just using whats best. Hopefully this sandbox update doesnt suck and this game can gain some of its fun momentum back.
-
2 RepliesI play casually and usually never use meta weapons mostly because I like my fusion rifle or side arm.
-
I usually run Chaperone and some other underdog handcannon (not the perk underdog for the record lol) but I usually always run that or some other anti meta setup because I'm a rebel
-
It depends on who you ask. Some people just are bored, some people are competitive, and some people think the matador has been surgically grafted into their primary and special slots.
-
Edited by Maestro25: 2/2/2017 11:59:13 AMWhat's wrong with using the best weapons? When I win, I have fun. So I'll use the best tools that help me win. Blame Bungie for nerfing the crap outta everything, leaving only a few select weapons that are good.
-
Shotguns don't work for me and my meta Pulse Rifles just aren't working either. Buuuut, Monte Carlo and Saladin's Vigil have been victimizing people lately, so -blam!- the meta.
-
Well, I suck regardless if I play meta or not. Using my very good Palindrome or Matador won't really help, so I prefer using my favorite guns like Scouts and Fusions, sometimes Sidearms.
