Hi Bungie,
Logged in this morning to find I have had a restriction placed on my account. Why? I'm on a green bar 90% of the time and if not I have no idea why. I have spend a fortune with you company on silver ($100) and in the store (around $300) over the last few months,
I work in IT specifically networking and I know for a fact there is nothing wrong with my internet connection, bandwidth, latency ping etc. and I do not cheat (ddos / lag switch).
Can someone from bungie please contact me to explain this asap and get this restriction lifted?
Kind Regards, Smartcuts_Ady

5 RepliesIn Destiny, there are 2 ways Bungie addresses Users that show misconduct. This is through Account Bans and Restrictions. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. Bungie does not discuss or dispute either of them. If you're questioning a Account Ban or Restriction, the link below could be the answer as to why you were banned or restricted. Please keep in mind that Poor or Unstable Internet Connection does qualify for a Restriction or even Ban in serious instances. Please note that action will not be taken against an account based off reports alone. Bungie's security response team obtains proof of misdeeds. https://mobile.twitter.com/DeeJ_BNG/status/738841560738070529 All relevant information can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies/en/Help/Article/11929 Hope this helps!

13 RepliesJust a quick addition to this post, since posting this I have received racist and homophobic abuse via PSN. All users have been reported to Sony and the Police. Why would I post this if I had anything to hide? And I thought we had a nice gaming community within Destiny.

3 RepliesEdited by ││█║▌│: 12/25/2016 12:48:28 PMOkay, so after sticking up for this person I have come to the realization that he is a complete idiot and more than likely did cheat. I woke up this morning to find myself added to 2 group chats. The first was an empty chat with users called Smartcuts_Ady, SmartFaqqot_Ady, and myself. My only message was "what the -blam!- is this shit" in response to Smartcuts_Ady saying he had reported someone to Sony and the police and then I left. The second was created by the same SmartFaqqot_Ady user but he had invited several other people. Here is an image showing who created the group chat.
http://i.imgur.com/mbvO5NO.jpg
Other than the name of the creator, there is no homophobic or racist content, just a bunch of people calling him a cheater and claiming they had been booted out of matches he was in. Unless he was sent private messages with the racist or homophobic content, he's making it up. He is now on the forums blaming me for this and telling me he has reported me to Sony and the police. He is either stupid, mistaking me for somebody else, or making it up and looking for a scapegoat. I did not create the group, and I did not post any messages in the group. I wasn't even awake when people were there... This is a quote from Smartcuts_Ady in response to one of my posts in this thread.
If you are going to send racist and homophobic abuse don't be stupid enough to set up a PSN chat with you real gamer tag in it and then post again on here. As I said reported to Sony and the Police. The sad thing is I probably would have offered a carry if you had been nice
Again, I did not send homophobic or racist abuse to this player. I have also included an image showing who created the group chat, so there is only one stupid person there and that's the person who reported me... There were many game tags in the group chat and again it even says who created it. I also have no idea why he mentioned trials in response to me, because I don't even play it or have any desire to. Also, why is the ability to add randoms to group chats without consent even a thing...

10 RepliesEdited by ││█║▌│: 12/23/2016 5:26:34 PMNice ban policy... Guess Bungie can ban whoever they want, for whatever reason they want, no matter what. Also, I don't know which one of these is worse. The lack of transparency, or the people who constantly paste the same old tired text in response which basically just says "LOL u banned and WE say it's YOUR internet". I can't believe you can get restricted/banned on a game that requires players to have good connections to the host in order to have a good clean connection. Bungie must be banning 90% of the players I've played against in the last month, -blam!- sake...
Hi Bungie, I work in IT specifically networking and I know for a fact there is nothing wrong with my internet connection, bandwidth, latency ping etc. and I do not cheat (ddos / lag switch). Sure. Since we are playing this game I shall be a Chinese jet pilot for the remainder of the week.

2 Repliesif you got perfect internet that means the only other thing left is cheating. you answer which one it is then.

4 RepliesQuite a number of your Trials matches over the last two weeks resulted in your opponents being disconnected. How well do you know your teammates?

Edited by blade329: 12/24/2016 7:33:04 PMNot to pass judgement, but there have been plenty of players who were caught cheating, red handed, and still came to this board claiming their "innocence". So, don't expect a lot of us to jump to your defense. How well do you know your other team mates. If one of them is a DDos cowboy, you will suffer their fate.

Edited by RAIST5150: 12/25/2016 9:42:19 AMUnless you were monitoring all 13+ connections your console was managing during the instance, you can't actually say your internet connection was good. It may have been good where you tested to at the time you tested. That doesn't necessarily mean your assigned routing to somewhere like my console, as well as MY assigned routing back to you from here in Florence, SC is just as good all the time. Note that their can be two separate UDP streams between each player. You broadcast out to the other 5 or 11 players, and those other 5 or 11 players are also broadcasting back to you. They aren't persistent TCP connections, but separate UDP sessions. Such matters may be best sent to your ISP's Tier3 support to monitor and investigate, unless you want to spend the time taking snapshots of your traffic and then running traces, MTR's, and/or pings to every one of them over time (or at least as far as you can get...not everyone's routers will respond to ICMP ECHO request) to see if you spot the usual signs of congestion at the peering level that causes people to get reported often.

7 RepliesSo you know then that having a green bar doesn't tell the whole story as far as connectivity goes. This was why people could appear as green bar and still lag out, and people even used little things like MTU manipulation at one point to make themselves invincible and at times invisible in trials matches. Even if your packet loss and signal noise and jitter were also low, which is more important than just plain speed for the connection, you could still have issue caused by who you play with regularly in certain game modes, specifically trials. Have a friend a continent or two away? The pairing of you two creates connectivity nightmares for anyone unfortunate enough to face you.
I'm on a green bar 90% of the time
If you work in IT then you should know why this doesn't matter. In fact, you should know why none of the indication bars matter.

1 ReplyI had a 2wk restriction from crucible and trials. I dont cheat or anything like that, and its been 2 wks. I was wondering when my restriction will be lifted. Or if there is anything to fix it to where i can play crucible and trials again?
