A Short Summary of the States of Weapons in PvP
[u][b]Auto Rifles[/b][/u]
Low Impact - sure would be nice to have High Calibre Rounds right about now
Mid Impact - the perfect example of meh
High Impact - dear God why do these exist
[u][b]Pulse Rifles[/b][/u]
Lowest Impact - the epitome of skill, using one puts you on par with divine entities
Low-ish Impact - demigod status
Mid Impact - utterly pointless
High Impact - somehow even more pointless, but you don't feel as bad about those 3 Legendary Marks you just got.
[u][b]Hand Cannons[/b][/u]
Low Impact - would be pretty good if they could hit anything more than once.
The Palindrome - what the above should be.
High Impact - very fun to use, allow for comedically bad stats/rolls, hardly worth using seriously unless you get LitC and a low mag size.
[u][b]Scout Rifles[/b][/u]
Lowest Impact - not nearly as bad as people think they are.
Low-ish Impact - competitively viable, overshadowed by you know what.
Mid Impact - forgiving, that's about it.
High Impact - why aren't more people using these?!

The best Sniper Rifle in the game.
[u][b]Voop-o-matics[/b][/u]
Like Matador 64, except they have a charge time, significantly less range, built in RNG (because Bungo know how much we love that) and require a few brain cells to use.

Flinching sure is fun.

Matador 64 counter, guaranteed to win 1 engagement in 1000, might get you 700+ trades in exchange for spending much more ammo than the opponent.

If you can get a high impact pulse like Parthian Shot you can 2 burst with a perk like headseaker. The mid impact dont have a place right now. Scouts I feel are good across the board if you have a passive play style. I agree that High Impact scouts are underrated. I havent had much success with autos. Zhalo in pve and once in a while a monte carlo in pvp. I just flat out suck with hand cannons so I cant agree or disagree. It would be nice to have more then 1 shotgun in the game.

30 RepliesA lot of people are not going to like this but I think Saladin vigil is OP. Not all fusions just this one specifically. It has a ok charge rate and can absolutely snipe people. It has way to much range for its charge time. Not as much of a problem as the Matador but it still is a problem

30 Repliesshotguns aren't the issue... Primaries are too weak to counter them. Stop crying about shotguns, people like you will end up getting them nerfed and we all know what nerfed weapons feel like. The last word, hawkmoon, thorn, vex mythoclast, sniper rifles, auto rifles.

1 ReplyWeapon balancing needs to happen soon. I love clever dragon, not because it is op but because it reminds me of halos battle riffle! Idk if it's the sound of the gun or the 4 bursts headshot kills but it just takes me back to halo 2/3. That said I think for destiny 2 or hopefully if there is another weapon patch for destiny, that all primaries have the same time to kill! Ignore the numbers it's all as an example. But doctrine ruled year 2. Now say doctrine had a time to kill of 2 seconds if you landed all headshots. Low rate of fire autos should put out enough damage per billet to match that. Same for pulse, if clever dragon is 4 shots, 2 seconds to kill, then nirwens mercy should also take 2 seconds to kill. Same for scouts and hand cannons. To Balance the crucible you need all primaries to have the same time to kill across the board. Then you need to limit the use of power weapons, snipers shotguns etc, heavy is at the perfect state right now. Once per game.

Also, a lot of people talk about this "incredible range" on Matador, but how's come about every 3/5 shots, while at point blank range, with the big "aiming circle" perfectly aimed around my enemies head and chest, I shoot them, only for their shield to be knocked down? I got a perfect roll on my Matador under the impression that as I long as I pulled the trigger, according to the forums, it would hit and kill somebody somewhere, every single time. Wot's uh... the deal?

The biggest problem with shotguns (besides the incredible range) is the amount of ammo. If I start of with 5 rounds in the Mag and another 4 in reserve then that's 8-9 guaranteed kills before I get another special box. Compared with 3 in a sniper, and sidearms needing (realistically speaking) 12+ shots fired to land 5 of those rounds. Don't get me wrong I use shotguns. I use what I know I will be the most lethal with. But it does get boring. I'm always switching my primary out probably why I've never been above-average. The Crucible is stale right now and I can't enjoy more than three games and then I'm done. If I'mma play PVP I'll turn on Titanfall. And I love Destiny haven't been able to put it down since I bought it. It's just not enjoyable at the moment.

Remove shotguns but add a new class called skrub. No grenades or super or weapons but your melee is a shotgun shot.
