Burns will not be return to primaries. That is why they gave us sidearms as are back up for elemental burns
However. You can use your sidearm as a primary if you like by equipping armor to increase sidearm ammo capacity. You can have a sidearm plus a sniper thats no land beyond. Or a shotgun thats universal remote.
Just make your sidearm as your primary with the right perk rolls then your getting somewhere with it.

So you're saying a sidearm is a good primary? You're kidding, right?

4 RepliesSidearms are NOT primaries. Do you know the use of a sidearm? A sidearm is used for when s*** hits the fan, your enemy is getting in close, and you don't have time to reload. Hence why sidearms have a low range but high rate of fire. You quickly pump a few rounds into you enemy to finish them off.

Solar burn .. use a scout or HC with Exp Rnds. Arc burn ..... use the Zhalo. Void Burn ... skip it, till they give us a void primary.

4 RepliesEdited by PR0P4NE: 10/10/2016 3:17:09 PMThe official reason they removed elements was to allow for more variation in primary weapons, instead of people constantly using raid gear. In reality, this decision has led to the opposite and I personally do believe the reasoning was nothing more than a "make it harder and take longer" decision. Yes, I know that each burn resulted in a narrow selection of preferred weapons. But one of the major reasons to raid was for loot. The armour has always been aesthetic, but the weapons were what we wanted. Why am I going to raid, and get a kinetic weapon when the kinetic weapon I already have allowed me to complete the raid in the first place. No sir, I want a weapon that I want to use. A weapon that makes me feel like the space cowboy I'm supposed to be. Every counter-argument in favour of elemental primaries is that they are fun. The anti brigade always remind us that we always and only say fun, and that's not really a valid reason, because, well, we're not here to have fun are we? We're here to gnash our teeth and shout at our partners and smash our controllers in frustration because certain tasks are harder and take more time. It boils down to being able to bring the right tool for the job. Elemental primaries made things easier. Easier equals more fun. More fun means you play more, recommend the game more, spend more time and money involving yourself in the game. Raid weapons and certain exotic primaries should have kept their burns. Make them worth hunting and worth using, even if the weapon was sub-par overall. I'm not here to argue, just state my opinion.

3 RepliesI like having elemental primaries but... am I the only one who hasn't found it really any harder to do activities? Sure you cant melt when the void or solar or arc burn is only but you still can with heavy or special. When its arc burn I dont jump to use zhalo. Really I like the new way theyre making raid weapons with unique perks that you can tfind anywhere else so there is still a reason to use them.

Edited by Omence072: 10/10/2016 4:36:10 PMHere's an idea: create a consumable item that applies elemental damage to your primary (so long as it doesn't already have one, zhalo for example) and make it rare drop or purchase from Xur.

1 ReplyI agree with the rest of the posters. Bungie's logic for removing elemental primaries is indeed flawed. We should be allowed to play the game how we want to play it, with whatever weapons we want to use. It's still amazing to me that all enemies in the game have a burn to their primaries, but Guardians, the only hope for the Last City, only have one elemental primary. With all the amazing current and golden age foundries, the only elemental primary the Guardians have access to is Zhalo Supercell. This just doesn't make any sense.

1 ReplySidearms are garbage. They waste a slot that you can use for better weapons. Elemental primaries were one of the best ideas bungie had.

Not sure where that logic came from but it's.... Just. Not. Right.

12 RepliesThen my secondary wont have a burn. Your logic is flawless.
