The increased sniper stagger is AMAZING!

With the newest update, I have now won the past 8 of 9 sniper encounters I have had in the Crucible (and WITHOUT using the Sorta Sniper Killer aka Mida). And those 9 encounters didn't include the times where the sniper actually RAN AWAY! Gone are the days of the frontline sniper tank (with the exception of really skilled snipers) In all seriousness though, this update was needed. Snipers are SUPPORT. Not tanks. They should next to never be winning head to head gunfights against scout/pulse/auto rifles. Now, I understand they have to have some benefit as remaining completely hidden (like a sniper should) is impossible with scope glare and radar. They should and need to be a threat...but not game breaking.

  • I ALWAYS snipe and I really like the changes. It feels more exciting and makes your aim REALLY count. I find myself getting better at my shots because I have only 1 small window of opportunity to hit my target before my screen acts like it's going through a tornado.

  • I just had a match where I machine gunned a sniper with high calibre rounds, next minute headshot.

    • I'm definently missing shots under fire that I would've hit a month ago. So I'd say it's a pretty big difference. I'm happy with it though. Anything that makes primaries more viable is fine by me, as long as they don't nerf any 1 specific type of special into the dirt killing it. Hand cannon accuracy tho....

        • I like what they did to them, but they should've hit shotguns too. Now most snipers just switched to a shotgun because they weren't touched, and there's more of those which is annoying

            • Lens glare should be minimal at best and you shouldn't be able to see that lens glare unless you are at the perfect angle. Snipers should be OHK. Very rarely does anyone live from a shot to the body, let alone a head shot. Quick scoping shouldn't even be a thing. You'd break your hand/fingers and drop your gun if you tried that shit in RL. There is absolutely nothing realistic about how sniper rifles are utilized in Destiny.

              • I like how there is no mention of shotguns here. Watch how many people are going to be running around with shotguns now because THAT takes skill. Before the sniper nerf at least there was a balance between the two

                  • I am a "decent sniper" so I haven't noticed a major difference. I thought the stagger was justified alongside the horrible aim assist because AA makes me miss more then crit. However I do not agree with the damage reduction towards supers. That's just an unfair nerf when they already took away everything to make hem more skillful to use. Tch tch Bungie you need to learn when you've done enough and when you go overboard.

                    • Yeah I'm a sniper mostly and I really like the changes. I feel like I can challenge a sniper with a primary and not just another sniper. It also forces me to use my primary more, which I really like.

                    • Yay great Every primary in the game can counter snipers And only one that is an actual primary can come close to countering shotguns [spoiler]The Last Word[/spoiler] Of course yes, snipers are a long range weapon and if at range, only scout and some pulse rifles can counter it. But take a look at most Crucible maps And you tell me if they are long range.

                    • the only thing i don't agree with is the sniper damage nerf. if you're skilled enough to get a headshot on a roaming super you deserve that kill.

                      • I've noticed I can shoot people between slow firing pulse rifle bursts or huge RoF pulse rifle shots, but any autos, hand cannons or high RoF scouts just destroy me when I'm sniping.

                        Sure its great in pvp. The flinching is a goddamn bitch in pve. Try sniping into a crowd of vex goblins all shooting at you. Even if youre 30 levels ahead of them youll miss your shots

                      • My friend showed me that it's still possible to be a sweaty sniper... He'd take a couple shots from me, descope, go back into cover for a split second and then proceed to quickscope me.
