Why shoulder charge is OP
Shoulder charge is a spiecal ability that one hits almost every enemy besides other Max armored Titans with chest armor for more armor and warlocks with Max armor with chest for more armor with the ram.
(Not including supers)
If you look at all abilities that other classes have nothing is compairable to shoulder charge because no abilities other than supers can one hit unlimited times with no cool down.
Blink strike with back stab is the closest thing to shoulder charge that isn't in super but unlike shoulder charge blink strike back stab has a cool down. People who say shoulder charge isn't a melee read the shoulder charge description "after sprinting for a short time press rb/r1 to unleash a devastating melee attack".
The other abilities on other subclasses that do dps are "touch of flame" but it is used with grenades and since the nerf sunsinger grenades suck and is not a one hit kill.
Definition of overpowered:
defeat or overcome with superior strength.
In destiny or any other games when something is overpowered it means it defeats everything in power of it's teir and since shoulder charge is one of a kind. In reality considering there isn't any other ability of its teir makes it superior or overpowered.
Since people have a hard time reading other post down below I had a post back in the first month of destiny about that same problem with shoulder charge.
Not gunna sit here and bicker about it. The amount of disrespect is rediculas and if I personally affended anyone I am sorry just trying to make the game better and more balenced. We are suppose to be a community not a bunch of toxic asshats.
Possible fix idea:
I don't want them to really nerf SC if you think that's why I posted to begin with I just think there should be a repercussions for using this ability.
When using SC it is a melee, so if you have your melee ability it should be a one hit kill but if you don't it will hurt them but not kill and maybe push them back a little. When using shoulder charge it should take your melee ability away.

1 ReplyI love the shoulder charge. I main a sunsinger warlock (not a typo) and all I do is jump in the air and stick a grenade to their head then give 'em the JAZZ HANDS. Keep charging Titans I love it.

I hear this a lot. But I don't want to be rude and honestly say that it wouldn't make sense to use up a melee charge. Ark is electricity in the game and when I use shoulder charge I don't see any of that but the momentum of the SC being cast. AKA air

I've ran into some people that constantly use it. It's easy to counter if you spot them far enough away. It's powerful but not overpowered.

26 RepliesSorry, but you couldn't be more wrong... shoulder charge cannot be compared to a standard melee..its more comparable to gift of the sun or shade step because its a special perk that grants an ability that is not normally available. The difference is one is offensive the other defensive. They are all powerful abilities.

You spent all this time writing this big ass post on a topic that's so damn over-hyped that I'm literally questioning if there is even a God up there at this point. Why can't you people just adapt, use your radar, use your secondary, stop rushing Titans, use your grenade effectively, use a super, for Christ's sake use your primary before the piece of shit gets to you? I'm done--I'm so done. I can't stand you people.

I agree with your arguments and would like to add that in my view SC is mostly affecting the fun 6v6 game modes which are typically faster paced and people play more relaxed, giving the sc rushing plenty of opportunities. Actually I don't mind the SC im most cases, but the the mid air SC is rediculous. I mean SC should be based on sprint, not mid air flying, right? And the distance! My warlock flight has been SC'd by a bypassing Titan which was so far that sidearm could not reach.

Agreed :), I run a Striker Titan ever since beta and its Op I've hit people that I've shouldn't have hit but now its not so Op? My SC doesn't even track right like a warlock gliding away I could hit but now I just hit this wall then get killed, or half the time it doesn't even work so in Short ;) its only Op if it's being used to it max 😁 won many games and trails with it because I've mastered it because its a unique perk only for titans and it helps counter super

Your complaining shoulder one hits... there are guns that one hit people. Shotguns, and Snipers. If your complaining about shoulder charge use a shotgun instead of camping in the back of the map with a sniper.

As a hunter main, I get shoulder charges from time to time but usually only when I don't see it coming. If I'm capping a zone, I watch the radar. The counter is not difficult, just take a few steps back. If they are still charging, keep backing up while shooting. Pro tip: This counter works for shotgun sliders as well. Can't tell you how often I'm on a zone, see red incoming, back off just a little and then watch someone shotgun slide with nobody in range.

Translation: I am a hunter main, and dislike the abilities not intrinsic to my class. I play all three classes and find shoulder charge for the most part, to be balanced. There are times where it's range seems to be far greater than it should be, but I would blame that on latency.

SC really is quite easy to counter. Weapons, melee's and with a Hunter and smoke grenade it's almost comical to watch them try and maneuver away from impending death. Fusions and shotguns are the best weapons to use since it's a cqc ability anyway. I looked at your characters. You have only a day or two on your Titan. I'd suggest actually using it and trying/failing with SC. That's the best way to learn its strengths and weaknesses. Once you know that, it's easy to counter. Got 31 days on my Titan and honestly 7-8 times outta 10 they don't get near me and 1-2 times I take em with me if they succeed.

13 RepliesShoulder Charge does not have a cool down. That is correct. Instead, you have to charge it up. While you are charging it up, you are completely unable to do anything besides increase your forward momentum. You cannot shoot, you cannot punch, you cannot strafe, you can only run. Hopefully by the time you get to the person you intend on Shoulder Charging, you have adequately charged your ability so that you can kill them instead of whiffing the air harmlessly 4 ft from their face while they laugh at you, shotgun you, then Tbag you. But nah, let's nerf Shoulder Charge. Then every striker will be running around with a shield that can TANK A SNIPER SHOT TO THE DOME!!! DO YOU WANT THAT INSTEAD??????
