Overwatch: First Impressions

Not that long ago I made a list stating my thoughts on Overwatch. However, that was for the beta not release-game. Now that the game has been released some things have changed so here is my edited list. (Listed by name) Bastion- His turret mode is broken. He should not be able to reload upon running out of ammo in the magazine. This and I find it strange he does not have a cool down on it. Also he should not be able to heal while in turret. D. Va- She is very weak for a tank. Her human mode is more powerful than her tank mode in way more situations than it should be. The range should have a buff as well as her damage. Something like a 10% range buff and 5% buff to damage. Yes I understand she is effective at close range but she should have some form of range. Even Reinhardt has a ranged attack and he has a hammer for God's sake. Gengi- He seems a little weak for an offense hero. His ultimate seems really weak. I feel the damage should be increased by around 10%. Also since he has to get up close and personal to use it I feel he should get a buff to health for the duration of the ability. His sword dash ability is also weak. The damage should have a buff of around 5%. Hanzo- I know he is classified as a sniper but his bow is more like living 1 shot city machine effective at every type of range. I would think it to be fair to make it to where the arrow has a bigger arch to it. Meaning you'd need aim higher to make it feel like an actual bow. I feel his ultimate range should be reduced but the damage increased. Both by about 5~10%. Junkrat- I don't like that Riptire can be destroyed and it will take the full 100% activation cost. I would want it to take 50% not the full cost. His concussive mine AOE should reduced by about 5%. Lucio- Buff his damage by about 10% and increase the flight speed of his sound waves by 10%. McCree- I feel the time to target a player with High-Noon should take less time. It takes 3 seconds to fully target a player which doesn't seem long but that gives way to much time for everyone to duck behind cover. Mei- In my opinion she is currently one of the most broken characters in the game. The time to fully freeze someone should take 4~5 seconds not 3. The time you are frozen from her blaster should be reduced. 3 seconds max. I'm so tired of being reaper and I get frozen with 200+ health remaining and then I get 1-shot by her damn ice sickle. I feel she should not be doing more damage to you while you are frozen from her blaster. The damage buff from her ultimate is fine. I also feel her magazine is way to big. Reduce it to 100~125 at max. Her ice wall has 3 second cool down. It should be 10 seconds at least. Mercy- You heal yourself when healing other players so why no buff when buffing damage of other players? Give suggestions to what reasonable buff could be. I feel her pistol is a bit too powerful. I could run her the whole game and not play support at all. It almost feels when she has her pistol she becomes an offense based hero. Perhaps reducing the magazine to 15 would be fair. Pharah- Reduce the blast radius on her rockets and reduce how often she can leap into the air. Reaper- I am so tired of using my ultimate and getting insta-killed. It would be cool if for every tick of damage it converts 50% of that damage into health. Reinhardt- Just reduce the amount of health his shield has and he's fine. Around 1500 health instead of 2000. Roadhog- Fine as is. Soldier: 76- Fine as is. Symetra- Limit the amount of turrets she to 3~4 max. Her weapon range should get a buff of around 15%. Also her damage output should be buffed by 10%. And she feels nothing like a support hero. Tobjorn- His turret is the most broken form of attack in the game. In the game it literally says word for word "Torbjorn's turret has a range of 40 meters." Let's do the math. 1 meter=just over 3 ft. 40 x 3m = over 120 F***ING FEET!!! Your average sky scraper is around 120 feet tall! This range should be reduced to 40 feet MAX. And the time to target a player needs to be at least 3 seconds or if the player damages it and the farther the target the less accurate it is. And once Torbjorn dies the turret goes with him. Also the damage should get reduced by 10% Tracer- Buff her mag to 50~60 and increase her accuracy by 10%. Widowmaker- Just do something to make her poison trap a viable option. Let's be honest how the hell can it even be considered an ability. Winston- I can't ever tell where I'm going to land when using my leap. Just give a marker or something when you're gonna use it like Reaper's teleport ability. Zarya- Fine as is. Zenyatta- His shield should be increased so he has a total of 200 HP. Now some environmental fixes. - In spawn you should have full immunity to attacks and heat sink abilities such as Widowmaker's ultimate and Hanzo's marking arrow. You should also not be able to attack from within the base. - You should not be able to use deploy able moves on a payload. This includes: Bastion's turret as well as Torbjorn's turret and Symetra's turrets - Not sure if this is just me but I tend to spawn in the further spawn point sometimes costing me a lot of games. - The overtime seems to last a really long time. I would say even if the other team is on the point the overtime timer should go down until it has 1 second and then stop. Give your opinion to these changing that I believe are fair. I spent a lot of time making this list and would appreciate your feedback but don't be a douchebag when giving feedback.

  • I got the science end for 4 poison trap kills by widow in a single game. Therefore, it IS viable.

    First, giving others a buff on damage and getting one back is stupid because if you switch to ur pistol the buff is gone for both of you Lucio's damage is fine and where it needs to be. You just need to know how to play them. Junkrats riptire is fine. What do you really want an invincible explosive tire running around the map? No. Genjis Dragonstike is vulnerable. So why should his riptire be invincible? Unlike most of the heroes' Ultimates Widowmakers poison trap is absolutley fine. Again you need to be good with her and/or have strategic skills in order to use it correctly. Reapers ultimate where every TICK OF DAMAGE converts to 50% HEALTH? Thats fuсkin crazy. He would basically be invulnerable. Mei freezing people at 3 seconds is the point. Its not some regular ice. Its ADVANCED ice Broke that shit down for you

      And so it starts. I was thinking about buying Overwatch but if people have already started moaning about how "broken" the guns are and if the blizzard is as weak as bungie it's going to be another nerf/buff disaster. So I'll wait a bit.

      • Ehh idk. Only changes that would mame an sense is. Bastion - Turret mode should have bullet spread. Makes no sense he should be that effective at sniper range. Tor'bjorn - Turret targeting range slightly reduced. McCree - Flash/Fan the Hammer should be adjusted when referring to damage done to tanks. D'Va - She is a little unbalanced in reference to effectiveness inside and out of mech. Being in your mech should be more desirable. Alot of people purposefully abandon her mech. These btw are not my opinions just statements made by alot of other people.

        Never mind why do I even bother. I try to give my opinion toward certain characters and what could be reasonable fixes and patches to them and all people do is get all up in my face and say I'm a retard and go die in a hole. You know what -blam!- all of you! I'm so tired of this shit. It's the whole damn reason video games are the biggest form of rage and friken depression in my damn life. Why do you think I'm always so protective and stuck to my opinion? I put time and effort into making these god damn lists and posts and all people do is be a friking bitch to me!         • You can't be serious none of these characters are broken. They all have there niche that's why there are sometimes strong as tuck. Blizzards them selves said no character is balanced to 1 v 1 all other characters. So I will say it Git Gud

          • I agree about torbjorn his turrets are stupid. Also about mei she can take on pretty any other character with her freezing cheese. Other than I think the characters are fine. And I pray to god they never buff tracer.

              You see, these are your opinions. Here's the thing with Overwatch. You can't just throw this many nerfs and buffs around randomly. It would fundamentally shatter the game. Overwatch has a very delicate Rock Paper Scissors game with the heroes. And if you nerf or buff one and it's then really bad or really good, that could have an effect on how many players play that hero, therefore making their counters jump, therefore reducing variety and fun. A couple of them I do agree with, but the fact that like 17 out of the 21 heroes need nerfs/buffs is to much. Also, look at it from the balance of the whole game, not just one hero, because if you're looking at it from the perspective on one hero, like six other heroes are broken in that characters perspective. Heroes I personally believe need to be changed. Mei, and Torbjorn. Mei: Literally the counter to everything and has almost no counter. Freeze them with the frost beam, then shoot them in the head, then they're dead. Make it take longer for people to freeze Torbjorn: Place turret in sneaky spot, or just Op spot in general. Wait until you get molten core. Once you have molten core wait until the enemy team pushes. Activate molten core. Win. That's it. Possible changes are maybe lowering the fire rate of his turret, and make it so his turret can turn 180 degrees only Just my two cents.

            • Also it sounds as every character you enjoy using you want a buff but the others that annoy you or stop your character from being able to be used similar to a CoD play-style you want to get a nerf.

                    • I agree with alot of your points except the following: Pharah- is perfectly fine, her character is supposed to be attacking from the sky reducing her jump boost would make her completely useless. For her rockets they are also fine, it's a big effin rocket it's supposed to do splash damage because the Rockets don't track and eleminating splash damage would mean to kill you would have to get direct hits which if you've played with her it's hard to do. If the changes you suggest were implemented it would make her a 100% completely useless character. If any change should be made to her it should be more fuel for her jet pack. Torbjorn- if you've played as him you would understand that his primary weapons are garbage. The turret makes him a stronger character I will admit they are powerful but it's to make up for him not having means to get alot of eliminations with his primary weapons. If any change shiuld be made it shiuld be a damage reduction, the range is fine he is a great defensive player if you can setup a turret in a good spot. If you get killed by torbjorn turrets everytime you go into an objective area you need to re-think your strategy. Even though the turrets are powerful they can also be taken out pretty easy, with Pharah or reaper or almost any character. Even Zenyatta can take them out lol Tracer- is a sloot. She doesn't need a buff at all. She can slap ass no matter how many bullets are in her magazine. If any change should be made to her it shiuld be reducing the time it takes to charge a blink. [spoiler]all in all a pretty good list, although I feel like the game is pretty balanced if you can find a team running a good comp. I personally don't think blizzard will change much. [/spoiler]
