That way we could get darker themed storylines. Executing dregs one by one to extract information. Watching blood splatter. Cayde making adult jokes. Giving the middle finger emote. Bringing back assassinations. The possibilities are endless. The T rating really held destiny back.

1 ReplyI concur. Not shock value garbage. Just some grit, realism. We murder thousands daily. Let there be blood. Gonna say -blam!- occasionally. Kids will still have parents buy it. We all win :)
-
Well, go and play GTA then.

3 RepliesEdited by netherslayer777: 5/10/2016 12:43:49 PMThe assumption this is necessary is so wrong. Halo was an incredible story, and it didn't have half the stuff you are talking about. Destiny could up it a lititle to that level, but that is it. Destiny has a fantastic storyline already - with darker tones.

4 RepliesIt would make the companies lose money. Keeping it at T allows the younger children to play it. Thus making more money
-
6 RepliesLol. Is the T rating one of the reasons why some people hate the game? If the game becomes M, then more obnoxious squeakers would budge in. I don't want to beat up Fallen, Hive, Vex, and Cabal in a super bloody way. (I'll admit, I want to do that against the Taken though) I think watching their death animations or flop all over after death is good enough. If you read the grimoire of the Dregs, you can tell that the game already has darkness tone in it. Primus Ta'aun (the sole taken Colossus) has a tear dropping story to make it up for ESRB rating. Maybe seeing players' characters drop blood would be good enough. Especially Crucible. >:D (as much as Halo 3 or Reach's blood drop. Not too much drop) I would like to see what Exo blood and Awoken blood would look like. Otherwise, keep it what it is.

They need those kids' parents' money
-
-blam!- that noise! Make it R!

6 RepliesDestiny is rated M
-
Bump hopefully bungovi$ion listens. Probably not though. All they want is that paper.
-
25 Replies2edgy4me Seriously Destiny doesn't need to be darker, there doesn't need to be blood everywhere. We've got a fantastic thing going where the world is pretty hosed but it's still bright and colorful and there's still hope to be had. If you did what you're suggesting it wouldn't be Destiny.
-
7 RepliesProvides no benefit. Limits the people that can buy it. Blood splatter is only important to the morbid and the immature. Every raid and most missions are already "assassinations." I don't feel anything is being held back.
-
Nah. The only thing holding Destiny back is Bungie and Activision making them support decade old consoles.
-
No, the t rating didnt give you the dick jokes your looking for. Destiny is fine and its placed in the demographic to be the most successful it can be. Not that an M rating would keep kids from getting ahold of it.
-
Bungie isn't that type of development company though. Who cares in the long run. When Destiny 2 comes out, the last thing you'll be thinking about is a game rating.
-
They can't make the sequel to a game that's rated T be so adult based, no matter how much we may want them too. Besides, I don't think that Bungie can handle an M-rated game very well. It is completely out of their area of expertise. They'd probably screw it up, in all honesty. #TitanMasterRace

4 RepliesIn the end it doesn't really matter to me but, a M rating will not change the kids minds in playing it. They'll think it's better because of being rated M. If you want examples of ways this could go wrong look at Shadow the hedge hog. Just because it has a higher rating doesn't always make the game better.
-
3 RepliesI agree and let Bethesda do it. Bungie is full of pussies
-
Well, here in Australia it is rated M. However, M does not have an actual age restriction. Ma15+ and above are the only codes with restrictions here.
-
1 ReplyBender is rated M for marvelous Bender is also great #benderisgreat
-
I agree
-
Parents will still buy the game for their little "angels" and then complain about the "adult themes they didn't know about".
-
Destiny should've been rated M to begin with
-
2 RepliesI hope so. Im tired of all these 10 year olds who's parents don't give a crap
-
Cayde would use his middle finger a lot. It's not like he has anything else to use instead, not anymore anyway...
-
3 RepliesYou do realize that there is blood from the enemy right? I mean I saw some blood after killing a Cabal enemy same with fallen and vex(which is there fluids) only one I have not seen blood is hive which they disintegrate and taken since there sent back in the ripped dimension. I do agree on a darker storyline since it will make it more interesting for some plot twist and some cussing since there were many times they could have used it. I guess will just have to wait and see for the next game.

I know right, it's not like parents care nowadays.
