Anyone worried that three of coins is just a waste?
I used 100 three of coins today, only got 5 exotics. Anyone else having this issue please comment below!
Edit: Thanks for your thoughts. Makes me feel a bit better.

Not me. 3oC has been good to me lately, especially after the update. It takes instincts and timing on using them, I feel. Crucible matches have net me the most chance of drops if that helps.

In my experience I've noticed its a collective reward instead of a reward for single player I've done things by myself an don't get anything someone eles does I've done strikes an get nothing but someone eles does on occasion I'll get something but not really same for nightfall raids an crucible someone eles always gets an exotic after I pop a coin I never get it so for me someone eles get my exotic or someone else's exotic I kno there's a chance 2 get an exotic but it needs 2 be a guaranteed chance of getting an exotic rewarded 2 the players that pop it

8 RepliesLol no they're fine. Farmed Poe yesterday in 2 hours got bout 6-7 exotic drops across 20 3oc. Remembers that there's a cool down after an exotic drops so don't go using them right away b

I used 8 3oc yesterday and got 2 exotics from strikes. I pop one every 2nd strike.

I'm now getting one every 7-8, used to be 5-6. At least that's my experience.

My experience: Before update - about 1 exotic every 5-7 3oC After update - received 1 exotic across 40 3oC. Also started seeing uncommon again and find fewer legendary as well. Today alone, at light 322, found 5-7 uncommon items in Challenge of the Elders. Today alone, across roughly 10 more 3oC, no exotics or legendaries. I've decided not to bother using 3oC for a hot minute myself, does not seem to do anything currently. But hey, I'm not getting ammo either so...not to mention glitches like teleporting vandals and wizards in CoE...perhaps things are just a bit off right now. Hopefully the bungie guys will look into it

Yes i feel like they are useless, i used like 30 and didn't get a single exotic. Ridiculous and they need to be buffed if you ask me

I popped30 in one day, got 4 exotics. Inept piping them when they failed almost every time. However, I was using them mostly in trials. The 2/3 I used on ultras gave exotics. Does trials have a lower drop rate?

2 RepliesThere seems to be a fair amount of confusion in these posts (and a lot of people pointing out what I'm about to say too). If you kill an ultra with a 3oC popped and you DONT get an engram there is no timer running before you can safely pop another 3oC. If it was unsuccessful pop another one immediately and kill another ultra. You will get an engram within 5 or so. The timer runs from a successful use of 3oC not from an unsuccessful use. Source: getting engrams whenever I want within 10 mins from black garden farm.

6 RepliesProper usage of 3oC: Every time you encounter an ultra you should have a three of coins active. Every time you defeat an ultra it will remove the three of coins from you. If you did not receive an exotic from the ultra that you just defeated, then you should pop another one. If you did receive an exotic, then you should wait between 15 and 30 minutes before popping another one. There are no set instructions. These are the accepted farming methods for using 3oC. 🤔

I gotta admit this weekend has been a little dry - like using 8-10 coins for a drop. And I've been cursed with nothing but specials! Come on! Poe 42 rewards have 4 exotic specials already!

The drop seems to vary for me, I'll get like 3 exotics within 5 3oC and then go on a streak where I don't see any for 10 3oC+

I got 3 exotics from my last trials run. And 2 on one 3oc in my trials run before that

I guarantee it's a waste but it's now about the only way to get a freaking exotic to drop, I miss year one where it dropped at the end of a mission and you instantly knew what you got and could brag to your buddies in the team about it.

Anytime xur is around my drop rates go to shit. Happens every week. Other than that I use 2-3 3oC a day and I'll get one exotic. Maybe two if it's a good day.

Better than using strange coins to buy a garbage 280 exotic from xur atkeast you'll get a high light level exotic from a 3oc

Dunno man. Ran 10 last night and got 4 exotics. 2 of those came as drops from the undying mind. Although I've gone through 40 or so before getting one to drop. It's so random.

Most exotic engrams for me this weekend have been boots, I think I got about 4, 1 gauntlet and 1 helmet out of 60 3oC.
