Anyone worried that three of coins is just a waste?
I used 100 three of coins today, only got 5 exotics. Anyone else having this issue please comment below!
Edit: Thanks for your thoughts. Makes me feel a bit better.

I've had 4 exotic engrams in 2 days from about 20 3oC. I even had a double drop from a crucible win. They all decoded into Titan gear although I main a Warlock!

I miss the old way to get exotics at least then I didn't always get boots from strikes I get them from nightfall or xur

If you used 100 in a day, you are using them WAY too often... I used about 25 while speed running challenge of elders last week for a few hours.. Popped one for every other boss and got about 10 exotics from it... You need to wait about 8-15 minutes between popping them. Otherwise you are wasting them. And at the end of the day it only increases the chance, it doesn't guarantee em.

To use 100 coins in one day is overkill. You don't stack them. if you used 100 In one day then that means you killed 100 named elites. Or in that mix played 50 games of crucible. They don't stack, only need 1 per elite, if you don't get a drop you activate another.

I use them in heroic strikes, nightfall, raid bosses, POE bosses, crucible, all with the same result. I'll get maybe 1 in every 15-20 to drop one. Every week is the same.

Use them in strikes. There's no way you went through 100 strikes in one day. Only use one at a time, because the coins don't stack that much. You'll get a lot more exotics that way.

I never get crap. Not one in any of the PoE bosses. Its definitely broken for me.

I get an exotic about every 5 times I take a coin. Sometimes I have gotten them back to back. Idk what you are talking about.

1 ReplyBefore the update I was getting an exotic engram every 2-3 coins running the lvl28 arena. Now it's not quite as often maybe around once every 5-7 coins. I don't buy too much else with strange coins so I just stock up and pop one every boss. You may just be having bad luck right now.

I would say my exotic drops are roughly 1 in every 5-7 3oC's... Its fine really, my strategy is I pop 1 for any boss fight that gives them (New PoE is great for this!) If i DO NOT get an engram then I immediately pop another for the next boss fight! However, if I do get an Engram then I wait 15-20 minutes no matter what... Bungie added a drop decrease to them to keep people from easily farming exotics, but it seems to activate after you actually get one... At least to me anyway. I think the most 3oC I've used without an Engram is like 15 or so. I've also got 3 engrams in a row before, and double Engrams from 1 3oC a couple times!

I've gotten 2 out of roughly 15 so far. Before that, I was getting roughly 1 every 15 at the worst, 1 every 4-7 at the best. I use them on bosses, and there's more than enough time passing for it to be fine. So I do think coins are a waste. I don't expect an exotic every coin, but I feel the rate should be increased a bit.

I used 20 last week and received 4 exotics. I think they are working. I only use them in PVE and the drops I got were in PoE and KF Raid.

7 RepliesAnyone else getting the strong feeling that people are popping them too quickly, forgetting that using them to fast causes your chance at a drop to decrease? Most people that I've found complaining or mentioning ToC not being as affective are people who are farming CoE not realizing that they're popping them like every 7or8 minutes if not even faster.

Used 30 over two days, got 9 exotics. Works fine for me.

I remember in year one when getting 5 exotics in a day, no matter the resources, was a blessing...

I used about 10 yesterday and I got about 4 or five exotic engrams. It was my lucky day for sure.
